Sigil Online: I became the duke's third son -
Chapter 85
Chapter 85: Chapter 85
Luan’s condition kept worsening by the second. After a couple of minutes, he started shaking uncontrollably.
"Kian, are you sure we should just let him be?" Hana inquired, a worried look on her face.
Kian was also starting to doubt Luan’s orders; it looked like this might be something really bad. "I’m not sure, but he hasn’t given a single sign or anything, so I hope he still has everything under control," Kian hesitantly said, half trying to convince himself as well.
Hana just kept staring at her son, who was still shaking uncontrollably on the ground. He looked so vulnerable and defenseless. As tears started to form in the corner of her eyes.
Drago put his arm around her. "Don’t worry, he’s strong," he whispered in her ear, but Kian could see the uncertainty on his face.
Liana rushed out of her carriage now as well. She couldn’t bear to see it anymore. "What are you all doing!?" she shouted, frantically looking around.
"Do something!" She ordered everyone.
Then Kian appeared before her. "Calm down, we need to wait a while longer. He hasn’t given a sign that he needs help," he slowly explained, trying to calm her down.
"Get out of the way!" she shouted as she shot him a nasty glare.
But Kian didn’t budge; he just politely bowed. "Don’t worry, my lady, nothing will happen to him, I promise. Just please have some faith in him and me as well," he said with a pained expression on his face.
He also hated seeing Luan like that, but he couldn’t interfere carelessly. If this was a crucial moment for Luan, then interfering could be detrimental, so he could only bite his lip and stay alert.
"Fine, but if anything happens, you will be held responsible." After grumbling, she sat down close to Hana and Drago with a worried expression on her face.
While all that was happening, Luan’s body kept shaking, and at some point it started floating in the air. Little by little it went higher and higher until it stopped at around a meter or two above the ground.
With mouths agape, everyone stared at him with bated breaths. When suddenly a blinding light erupted from Luan’s back, ripping his t-shirt into a million pieces, Luan fell face first on the ground.
As he lay there unconscious, the blinding light was still there, and from inside it Vira appeared. But this time her features were more defined, and she had almost doubled in size.
After a while the blinding light started to slowly fade, and only Vira was left floating there. Looking around curiously.
"Go now!" Kian ordered, and two royal guards immediately appeared next to Luan and carried him into his carriage, laying him down on his bed.
Kian stood next to him together with a couple of medical professionals and people with healing sigils. But nothing worked; the medics then turned to Kian. "We think this has something to do with that thing that appeared out of his sigil mark. So just keep an eye on him," he started explaining.
The other medic chimed in. "When he wakes up, if he looks fine, make sure he drinks enough water and feed him things like soup and the like. If he doesn’t look fine, make sure to call us immediately. We will be staying in this carriage to make sure he is ok."
"Thank you," Kian said with a bow.
After that, all the healers and medics left the carriage to inform the duke and duchess. Liana stood in the corner of the room. All kinds of emotions flashing through her eyes.
"Is that what you meant by we need to wait? And what was that thing that popped out of him?" she asked Kian, her tone commanding, not leaving any room to refuse.
Kian sighed as he sat down on a chair stationed next to the bed. "That was one of the spirits Luan has a contract with." Kian carefully explained everything that he knew about it.
And after that, Liana looked at him deep in thought, "You may leave. I’ll take care of him together with the maids," she ordered; she wasn’t in the mood now to think about any of the important stuff or even inform her mother.
"Understood, but do make sure to call for professionals when his condition worsens." With that, Kian quietly left the room and also reported everything he knew to Luan’s parents.
"I see, thanks, Kian," Drago said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"It’s the least I could do," Kian softly replied.
Then Hana turned around. "We’re leaving! Get everything packed up and ready to leave within ten minutes," she ordered everyone.
Staying here in the wilderness was a bad idea; they had to get to the capital as fast as possible to make sure nothing would happen to Luan.
Just like that, the single day they had picked out to relax turned into a disaster. But within five minutes everything was packed up, and they were back on the road on their way to the capital.
This time Hana had also entered Luan’s and Liana’s carriage, but even though Drago also wanted to enter, she couldn’t allow that because Liana was in Luan’s room; if he entered, it could become a scandal, but she herself could enter.
Which she did; right after the carriages took off, she immediately entered the room, and what she saw once inside surprised her.
Liana was seated right next to the bed, holding Luan’s hand with a genuinely concerned look on her face.
Hana quietly entered the room, shooing anyone else away. "How are you feeling?" she asked Liana, with a concerned look in her eyes.
Liana turned her head and saw her standing on the other side of the bed. "I’m not sure. We’ve barely known each other for a month, but it pains me to see him like this," she explained, hoping that maybe Hana would be able to help her understand these feelings.
Hana chuckled at her words, "I know, right? It was the same for me when I first met Drago. I fell in love at first sight. But I had been brought up with barely any contact with boys around my age, so I had no clue what those feelings were," she started.
"But that’s normal, sweetie; just take your time to understand these feelings little by little. Because even if they aren’t in love, you will still have to get married, and the same goes for him. He might act tough and all that, but he’s probably uncertain as well deep inside."
