Seoul Object Story
Chapter 232: Jade Wall (7)

The red monster, whose limbs were twisted and turned around grotesquely, was like an incomprehensible ghost in a horror movie.

The red monster, wandering aimlessly around where I was, didn’t even recognize me in the Garden of the Mini Reaper.

Woah, I’m so surprised.

This was the first time I was suddenly caught up in this way, so I was really surprised.

How could it surprise me, who could look in every direction, I wonder?

I continued to watch the red monster wandering aimlessly outside, calming my mind.

And soon after, when I was sure that the Garden of the Mini Reaper was safe, I began to observe the red monster closely.

The red monster looked like a human, but its actions were not human at all. Its empty face, devoid of facial features, was turned towards the sky as if it was staring into space. Its unsteady, staggering movements made it seem as if it was forcing its limbs to move properly.

However, when I looked closely at its movements, I could see that it was completely different. It was rearranging the cause based on the result that it had already moved and reached its destination.

Because of that, when the monster walked, time flowed backwards and space folded and unfolded repeatedly.

It was moving as if it was looking for something, but the red monster didn’t seem to see anything.

When the monster passed by where the tree had been, the tree turned into a shattered ‘something’.

There was no trace of it having been a tree at all, and it turned into ‘something’ that looked like a lump of red flesh and red stone.

The grass that filled the empty lot in front of Sehee Research Institute also  turned into something unknown every time the monster’s feet touched it.

In fact, the strange and disgusting appearance wasn’t much of a problem. The bigger problem was the nature of those ‘something’.

The ‘location’ where the tree and grass existed had changed.

No, something with a different concept from space had changed.

The creatures that came into contact with the monster were there, but they were no longer there.

Their essence had moved to a distant place beyond space and dimension, and only their projection remained on Earth, like an illusion reflected on a mirror.

After some time passed as the monster wandered around like that, I heard the sound of something breaking and shattering, and the monster’s appearance changed.

The space where the monster’s torso had been was unnaturally fragmented as if glass had been broken. Its body sections that had been shattered into sharp sections tried to form a human shape again.

However, it could no longer be considered human-like anymore.

One of its arms that had been cut off from the shoulder seemed to have grown a new arm, leg, and head on top of it, trying to form a human shape. A small face grew on the back of the hand, and countless limbs grew on the underside of the arm, and it began to crawl on the ground, wriggling like a weasel’s legs.

No one would call something as disgusting as that human-like.

The fragmented body parts repeatedly appeared and disappeared in various places as if they were teleporting. Sometimes the rest of the body disappeared and only four arms were left.

There’s also occasions where all disappeared and only ten heads were left.

Those parts tried to reassemble themselves as if they were trying to reassemble the body, but the head would reattach where the arms were, and the chest would sprout where the legs were, making it look even more bizarre.

The waves of anger emitted by the monster were no longer understandable.

And as the monster broke apart and became a mess, the surroundings became more and more strange.

Fog gradually filled my field of vision.

Strange flesh and red jade were popping out of the ground as if they were alive.

The empty lot near Sehee Research Institute became more bizarre and dangerous, but the monster’s presence was becoming increasingly vague.

No, rather than vague, it felt like it was moving away.

Is it self-destructing?

Or is it unable to stay on Earth for long?

It felt like it would disappear even if left alone, but the red fog that was spreading was the problem. If I let it spread any further, it would reach to where Yerin was.

While worrying about Yerin, I somehow got the feeling that the weaker the monster became, the easier it would be to see its killing conditions.

So I checked the killing condition again in order to defeat the monster faster.

< Stra ■ ■ ■ ■  >

I saw something new!!

Boom-!

I was so happy that I didn’t realize that I suddenly couldn’t see even an inch ahead of me. Then, from the thick fog, a giant hand slammed down towards the Garden of the Mini Reaper.

[ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ]

Then, a giant monster’s head, which was about 2m tall, appeared through the fog.

It was staring at me with its empty eye sockets, as if it had found me.

*********

The Black Reapers who were running around the institute busily left behind a sound like small animals scattering busily. They were so busy that they were running around making cute plopping footsteps, bumping into each other and rolling around. Literally, It was chaos.

Boom-!

The black reapers slowly entered the Sehee Institute Medical Center and were carrying bandages larger than their torsos over their heads.

Bandages? Who got hurt?

When Yerin saw them, she became a little curious, so she sneaked out of the shelter and started following the Black Reapers who was running busily.

In fact, the reason Yerin followed the Black Reaper was 80% because she was curious about them, but she was also following them because she had a strange feeling that the Gray Reaper needed her.

Following the familiar path, she arrived at the courtyard of Sehee Research Institute.

The courtyard where the Mini Reapers used to run around while the employees were watching was completely empty.

It was filled with fallen paper cups and scattered documents.

The only things that were left there were the scattered papers flying around on the ground. The Mini Reapers had also disappeared, so the atmosphere of the courtyard was extremely gloomy.

Yerin felt like she had suddenly become cold, perhaps because she was affected by that gloomy atmosphere.

As she slowly rubbed her arms as if she was cold and entered the entrance to the Garden of the Mini Reaper in the courtyard, a completely different atmosphere greeted Yerin.

Sweet scent and warm light.

It was a place that naturally warmed her heart.

When she entered the Garden of the Mini Reaper, there were many unidentified bandage balls placed on top of the marshmallow ground.

The bandages were wrapped so meticulously and carefully that they were rolled into perfect spheres that they would roll if touched.

When Yerin lifted one of the bandage balls and examined it, it felt heavy like metal.

Is there something inside?

When she tried to unwrap the bandage and check the contents, a Black Reaper approached her with a stern expression.

Since it was an expression that rarely appeared on the Black Reaper’s face, Yerin slowly stroked the Black Reaper that was on her palm and placed the bandage ball back to the ground.

As Yerin continued walking through the Garden of the Mini Reaper, confused about what was going on, she ended up seeing the process of the bandage ball come to be. The identity of what inside the bandage ball were Mini Reapers who had turned gray like the Gray Reaper.

However, they didn’t look as soft as the Gray Reaper, they looked solid and fragile, as if they would crack and break if handled wrongly.

The Black Reapers were tearing up bandages for the Mini Reapers next to the frozen Mini Reapers with worried expressions.

Did the Mini Reaper get frozen from something and the Black Reapers used bandages to prevent them from breaking from the impact?

If so, it seemed like a reasonable measure.

By the way, why can’t I see Reaper?

The Gray Reaper usually stole the Mini Reapers’ pudding, played pranks on them, knocked them over, and threw them around. However, in an emergency like this, the Gray Reaper was always the first to take care of the Mini Reapers…

Was it the Gray Reaper who turned the children into stone?

If it was one of its pranks, it was natural that it would run away without taking care of the injured Mini Reaper. However, judging from how the Black Reapers treated the frozen Mini Reapers, it didn’t seem like it. After all, If it was the Gray Reaper’s prank, the Black Reaper would have been beating the Gray Reaper.

As Yerin walked around the Garden of the Mini Reaper with such thoughts, she was finally able to find the Gray Reaper.

It was fighting fiercely with a white ring of light floating above its head.

Moreover, unlike its usual appearance, its skin was completely burnt black.

“Reaper!”

When Yerin let out a worried cry at the sight, the Gray Reaper’s antennae shot up toward the sky.

*********

I made a mistake.

I made a huge mistake.

The moment I saw its killing condition, the monster began to clearly recognize my existence.

The red monster, which had been the size of a human, had grown to the size of a giant in the red fog.

After it recognized me, it thrusted its empty eye sockets into the garden as if it were looking into the inside of the garden. The eye sockets were large enough to fit a person, and inside the eye sockets were thick darkness that seemed tangible. The darkness inside was also so thick that the end was invisible.

Ugh.

And then countless hands popped out of the eye sockets.

The sight was so terrifying that I was afraid I would see it in my dreams.

Bang-! Bang-! Bang-!

And then those countless hands began to pound the border of the Garden of the Mini Reaper with their palms. It was nothing but a light tap, but every time the palm tapped the boundary, the boundary between the red fog and the Garden of the Mini Reaper became increasingly blurry.

[ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ]

If I didn’t do anything, I thought the boundary would be pierced in an instant, so I threw the Halo on top of my head and used another Halo before reinforcing the boundary.

The Halo I used now was the Labyrinth Halo.

I started to cover the Garden of the Mini Reaper with the image of the strongest boundary I could imagine.

Because of that, the firewood I had started to fly away in droves.

I couldn’t keep holding on in this way even if I had infinite firewood.

The Labyrinth Halo could change reality, but it was fundamentally a fake illusion.

That red monster’s whole body was crumbling as if it had some kind of time limit, but the border of the Garden of the Mini Reaper would collapse before the monster was gone.

I needed something higher ‘level’ to defeat that monster.

But it would be impossible to reach that level even if I used all the Halos I had.

At that moment, I heard Yerin’s voice,

“Reaper!”

The moment I heard that voice, a way to solve this situation came to mind.

I threw the Halo and jumped towards Yerin.

As I threw myself into Yerin’s embrace, my firewood which was almost depleted instantly filled up.

Hihihi!

Feeling the firewood burning in my chest, I tightly closed my eyes.

Then, a black sphere floated above my head.

< Immutable Black Ball >

It was the highest level thing I had.
