Chapter 63: Design Discussions
Yulia watched me with wide eyes, waiting to see if I was joking or serious, but after a few minutes of silence, she got her answer.
She looked me in the eyes with seriousness and nodded her head, "Very well. Let’s design something that will start a trend!"
"Yes, perfect!" I smiled, seeing that she finally agreed.
Yulia picked up my references again to look them over carefully, even flipping the papers over.
"Oh, what’s this?" she asked.
I looked over with embarrassment, "Oh, please don’t mind that. I sometimes doodle while I think, it’s just a small habit."
Instead of putting it aside, she looked at it even closely.
"I think you’re on to something here. The sketches are a little rough, but I can see the intent!" she said with seriousness.
I shook my hand, "Oh no, please. It’s just some mindless doodles. They don’t mean anything."
"Mm, can you give me a few minutes? I’d like to do a rough sketch to show you," she said as she pulled a blank piece of sketch paper from her folder.
"Of course." I nodded and looked over curiously, wondering what she was about to draw.
It only took a few minutes for a rough sketch to appear. The first design looked like a necklace or bracelet. At first, she drew a simple, delicate chain, but that quickly turned into a few layers.
I watched her draw with awe. It only took her a few minutes before a breathtaking image appeared on the paper.
"What do you think? I used your little doodles as inspiration," she smiled, handing me the sketch.
I was so stunned that I couldn’t speak. On the paper was a choker necklace with layered gems. At the center was a carved gemstone in the shape of a blooming rose. Overall, it was large, gothic, and made a statement.
"It’s absolutely amazing. How did you come up with this so quickly?" I asked, unable to pull myself away from the drawing.
"What do you mean? It was something you drew! I only reformatted it a little," she smiled, enjoying my excitement.
I looked closer and realized that the rose in the center was what I had tried to doodle earlier. It reminded me of the roses from the night that I decided to find Christian in the garden.
"We can make it a little more gothic if we add a few hanging crosses here and here. But overall, I feel like this could be a strong start to a theme. What do you think?" she asked, pointing to a few spots on the design.
"Yulia, this is perfect. I don’t think anyone will expect something like this," I said with a big smile.
"Perfect, then I will run with this idea! Now let’s talk about how many designs you want and what sort of jewelry. I’d also like to know what gemstones we’ll be working with," she asked, picking up her pencil to take notes.
I nodded, "So I’ve obtained a few, large, deep blue sapphires. I would like them to be the highlight of the collection. Aside from that, we can work with anything; diamonds of any color, or any other stone should work."
Yulia quietly took notes while I explained my thoughts.
"Then let’s name this collection the Queen of Thorns," she suggested. "We can focus on a full set consisting of this choker necklace, a crown, earrings, a ring, and a pair of bracelets."
I nodded at her suggestion. Usually, season launches were designed as a full set, promoting people to bid for the pieces in order to obtain more than one piece.
"Let’s add three more sets of earrings and rings," I added. These smaller pieces will appeal to more people. Although it was risky to add so many more pieces, I felt that all of them would end up in a bidding war.
"Good idea," she nodded, writing that down.
For the next few hours, we bounced ideas while she showed me very rough sketches of designs for each item. I had her focus on the big ticket items, such as the crown, choker, and main pair of earrings, first.
It was incredible to see my ideas come to life on paper. Yulia did her best to capture my thoughts while maintaining the needed integrity to make it work.
I was having so much fun with her that I didn’t realize how late it had gotten.
She’s a lot of fun to be around.
Yulia had a good sense of humor and ended up telling me a number of funny experiences she’s had in the past, making our meeting full of fun and laughter.
"Okay, I have more than enough to work with. I will go back home and work on finalizing these sketches. I will send them to your email once they’re done," she said, gathering her papers.
"That’s perfect, and hopefully we can meet the following week to begin actually crafting everything," I agreed.

That evening, I went to see my mother as soon as I got home.
"Mother, I was given my plane ticket and was told to meet at Christian’s mansion for the flight tomorrow," I said, showing her the ticket.
Morgan quickly walked over and snatched it out of my hand before I had a chance to give it to her, "Haha! Look, you got an economy seat! And it’s at the very back of the plane!"
She laughed so hard that there were tears in her eyes.
"Of course, she’s in the back of the plane! Christian will be flying with his important assistants and executives. Leslie’s at the bottom of the hierarchy," my mother said, unsurprised.
She then looked over at me, "I’ll have the servants pack your luggage for you. Thankfully, the order from the tailor just arrived."
As soon as my mother left the room, Morgan came up to me.
"I shouldn’t have to tell you this, but do your job and keep an eye out for any women who try to approach him. Make sure they know that he’s engaged TO ME!"
My good mood from earlier caused me to be rather nice to Morgan today. Instead of ignoring her, I smiled sweetly.
"Don’t worry, sister. I’ll make sure everyone knows that Christian is a taken man. I promise."
They’ll be able to hear it in the form of my moans coming from his bedroom all night.
