Secretly Mine
Chapter 62: Thoughtfulness

Chapter 62: Thoughtfulness

The next morning, I arrived at the company early in hopes of running into Christian again. But even after the usual working hours started, I still haven’t seen him.

"I wonder if everything is okay. It feels like forever since I’ve last seen him," I mumbled to myself as I absentmindedly looked at my computer screen.

Shaking my head, I turned my attention back to the computer.

I need to begin preparing for my meeting with Yulia. She should be here soon.

There were a number of documents spread across my desk. All of them were ideas centered around different themes that were currently on trend for the season launch.

"Sport jewelry seems to be in style currently, but it’s just so...basic," I sighed. Since I was in charge of this project, I wanted it to be perfect and have a ’wow’ factor.

I twirled my pen in my hand as I thought about what theme I should choose.

Hopefully, Yulia has some ideas because I’m not loving these.

A knock on my door brought me out of my thoughts. I looked at the door with hopeful eyes, hoping to see Christian.

"Miss Moresi, I have your lunch. May I come in?" asked Blake from the other side of the door.

My smile lessened at the realization that it wasn’t Christian, but I was surprised to hear from Blake.

"Yes, of course. Come in!" I said, standing up from my desk.

Blake was technically my superior at the company, so it felt a little strange for him to be doing things like delivering food to me.

Delivering food?

I realized that I didn’t ask for or order any food, but it was lunch, and I was starting to get hungry.

Blake walked in, pushing a small handcart. On it were various dishes that looked very appetizing.

"I have a few things for you, as ordered by CEO Vittoria." He walked over and first placed the food on the coffee table. Then, he walked over to my desk and placed a small folder in front of me.

"This is your plane ticket and other information for your flight tomorrow. Please arrive at CEO Vittoria’s mansion at the designated time tomorrow morning," he said as he looked up at me.

I opened the folder to find the tickets and documents all neatly arranged inside.

Flight? How did Christian know that my father allowed me to go with him?

"Did Chris-- err, CEO Vittoria arrange for all of this? Is he here today?" I asked with a tinge of surprise.

Blake shook his head, "No, the CEO is not in today, but he arranged for me to get all of this sorted for you. There’s one more thing..."

He stepped out into the hallway and wheeled in three huge suitcases.

"I’m unsure of why he had me bring you these empty suitcases, but here you go."

I looked at them for a few moments before understanding what they were for. My lips formed a small smile from Christian’s thoughtfulness.

These suitcases were for me to bring all of the dresses, jewelry, and lingerie that he had gifted me earlier.

"Thank you so much for doing this," I said, bowing my head slightly.

Blake nodded politely, "Of course, Miss. Let me know if there’s anything else you need."

I nodded and waited for him to leave my office before I sat down to have lunch. The food was still hot and fresh, as if only just been picked up from the restaurant.

He may not be here today, but he still thinks of me.

Thanks to Christian, my lunch was very enjoyable, and my mood soared. I didn’t feel lonely even though he wasn’t here, thanks to these small gestures.

Glancing at the plane tickets on my desk, I started to feel excited. After not being able to see Christian all weekend, I wasn’t sure if I would even make it to the business trip, but he kept his word.

My cheeks flushed thinking about his promise to me in the dressing room that night. We would finally be allowed to spend a good amount of time together without interruptions or watchful eyes.

I don’t even know where the business trip is going to be. I hope it’s somewhere nice.

After my meal, I rolled the suitcases into Christian’s office through the side door, making my way over to the secret bedroom.

Most of the closets on the left side of the room were dedicated to me, so I opened them and quickly began to pack.

Dress after dress, my eyes shone as I packed them. They were all so beautiful, I only hoped that there were enough places for me to wear them all.

The next suitcase was dedicated fully to the many sets of lingerie that I’ve been wanting to wear for a while now. Initially, I was only going to pick out a few options, but after looking through all of the sets, I couldn’t decide and packed them all.

I’ll decide which one to wear when I get there.

By the time I finished packing, only a few of my items remained inside the closet. While I did my best to stuff everything into the suitcases, there were too many things, and I had to leave some out.

"There. That should do it!" I smiled.

I glanced at the clock on the wall and nearly had a panic attack. Yulia was supposed to arrive any minute.

I ran back to my office, wheeling the suitcases with me. Thankfully, my office was empty when I arrived, but as soon as I sat down, I heard a knock on my door.

"Miss Moresi, I have a Miss Ivanovna here to see you."

I scrambled to tidy up my desk. "Yes, please come in!"

The door opened, and a very cute young woman walked in holding a large leather folder. Blake nodded at me from the doorway and turned to leave.

"Hello, I’m Yulia," she said quickly, bowing slightly.

"Hello, I’m Leslie. Please, come in and have a seat," I said, motioning over to the sofa.

She nodded and walked over to take a seat. Her eyes explored my office while I gathered my notes and documents.

"Thank you for coming today. When I saw your work, I immediately knew that you had to be the designer for this season’s launch," I smiled and walked over.

She looked away, blushing. The freckles on her cheeks made her look even more adorable.

"Thank you. I was honestly very surprised that I was selected. This is actually my second year applying for this role," she said quietly.

I frowned, hearing this. Whoever led this project before clearly couldn’t distinguish talent.

"Trust me, Yulia, I think you’re perfect for what we’re looking for. Here were some of my ideas for the theme, but to be honest, I don’t love any of them."

I showed her my research and a few examples of statement pieces. She took her time, carefully examining them all and nodding.

"These are certainly on trend and are all pretty safe options," she agreed.

"See, that’s the thing. I don’t want Sophia to follow trends, I want to make them."

Her eyes widened as she looked over at me. I could see the excitement deep inside of her.

"This is why I chose you. You have what it takes to design something that will stun the world," I smiled.
