Chapter 113: Auction Event 4
The tension between us only grew as the evening went on, getting to a point where I was starting to come up with ways where we could be alone together.
Below us, the auction continued at full speed. The original ten million price had already doubled, and the pacing of the bids didn’t slow down at all.
Morgan looked like she had aged in the matter of minutes. Twenty million was already too high a price for her, and the MC just announced that it reached twenty-six million. For once, she was the one being tormented, and it was liberating to watch.
-
"Forty million! Bidder 419!" the MC announced, stunning the entire audience. The previous high bid was thirty million, and an increase of ten million just like that was very steep.
I didn’t know there were so many wealthy people here.
Craning my neck, I looked around to see if I could spot any new or familiar faces, but the hall was so large that it was hard to make out people’s faces from a distance.
After the forty million mark, only two people continued to bid against each other until the price hit fifty million!
"Fifty-two million! Bidder 419!" the MC announced, hoping to see the price go up even higher. We all waited in anticipation, but after a few long moments, the MC declared 419 as the winner.
"Don’t go anywhere! We have more items for you tonight! Though the main collection has been sold, Sophia Jewelers prepared a few more sets of earrings for you tonight!"
Morgan sat up once more after hearing the MC’s announcement. All night, she was determined to win something, no matter what it was. And now, hearing that she had another chance, she picked up her tablet, preparing her first bid before the earrings were shown.
I looked over curiously. Yulia said she made these earrings with the extra materials on her own time, so I didn’t know what they looked like.
The beautiful woman on stage opened up the first box, revealing the first set. They were much simpler than the first set of earrings sold, but were still very beautiful. They had a long tear-drop design with a halo of diamonds around the center sapphire.
"The bid for these earrings is starting at five hundred thousand! Bidding starts now!"
Morgan tapped her screen with a smug smile. She looked confident in winning this time around.
"Wow! We have a bid of fourteen million! Bidder 4!" the MC announced with surprise.
Fourteen million?! Who in their right mind would pay so much for those earrings?
I looked around before noticing Morgan’s happy smile.
No way...
She immediately increased the bid from five hundred thousand to fourteen million in a single go. Even the rest of the audience broke out into chatter, discussing this bold move.
"SOLD! At fourteen million to Bidder 4!" the MC announced, finalizing the sale.
Morgan jumped out of her seat. "Christian, look! I won! I won!"
He looked at her like she was stupid before adjusting his expression. "Wow! Congratulations, they’ll look wonderful on you."
Her eyes sparkled. Excitement and joy radiated off of her, drawing attention from the other neighboring booths.
She was so overcome with joy that she didn’t notice the strange looks that everyone was giving her.
"Okay, the next set of earrings is a similar tear-drop design! Bidding will start at five hundred thousand! Begin!"
The only difference in this pair of earrings from the ones that Morgan won was that this pair had a halo of black diamonds instead of white diamonds.
This time bidding was a lot more conservative, increasing the price in one hundred thousand dollar increments. It went at such a slow pace that it took a few rounds of bidding before they reached one million.
"And sold! One million two hundred thousand!" The MC’s voice echoed throughout the hall, causing the audience to break out into applause.
I looked over at Morgan, curious if she was fuming from spending so much on something that would only have cost her slightly over one million. To my surprise, she calmly looked over at the stage, unfazed by the price.
Father will surely be angry when he finds out how much she bought those for.
The last pair of earrings was a simple yet elegant pair of studs. This kind of earring was more suitable for a more mature woman and was designed with the older madams in mind.
The bids took slightly longer, as many people in the audience felt that this pair would make a wonderful gift for their mothers or grandmothers, and the final cost was just shy of three million.
"This concludes the auction event for Sophia Jewelers. Please stay seated to watch a celebrity guest performance as our special treat!"
The MC surprised everyone with the news of a performance, though I already knew about it. Morgan suddenly shot out of her seat.
"I’m going to see if I can go get my purchase early! I would like you to see how the earrings look on me," she said to Christian.
Without waiting for a reply, she stormed out of our private room, leaving me, Christian, and Karl alone. Karl was completely drunk. His snoring could be heard even through the loud music.
Christian quickly stood up from his seat and drew the curtains, giving us complete privacy. I watched him approach me with excitement. My heart was beating fiercely, anticipating what would happen next.
"Leslie, congratulations. You broke every record Sophia has ever had in earnings," he whispered into my ear as he leaned over me on the small couch.
I felt his soft lips press against my face and neck, only fueling my desire further.
"I noticed how you looked at me earlier. Is this what you wanted?" he asked in a whisper.
His hand reached up my skirt while he kissed me. I could feel his fingers rubbing my clit through the thin fabric of my underwear.
"Yes." I breathed out, confessing my need for more of his touch.
