Chapter 400 I Beg You
Chapter 400: Chapter 400 I Beg You
Lance was motionless, and he seemed to have no intention of getting out of the car.
Yvette’s expression looked serious, and she was about to get out of the car.
Lance was anxious and called out to her, "Yvette. Belle..."
Yvette looked at Lance. Lance said in a low voice, "Belle must have been scared today. I am afraid that she will be worried and want to see her."
These words made Yvette hesitant.
Lance knew that Yvette cared most about how Belle felt.
So he continued, "Let me go and see Belle. I promise that I won’t appear in front of you every day. Can you let me see her tonight?"
Lance put his self-esteem away and pleaded in a low voice.
Yvette’s hand that was pulling the car’s doorknob paused.
"Yvette, I beg you. Let me see Belle tonight."
While seeing that Lance’s handsome face was paled by illness, Yvette couldn’t help but be touched.
But it was not enough to dissolve the solid ice in her heart.
As long as she thought of the injuries she had suffered, her heart would turn cold in a second.
But when she thought of Belle’s little face that was mottled with tears, she had no other choice...
After a moment of hesitation, she finally let go of her hand and said nothing more.
Lance knew that Yvette had agreed.
He felt happy, but he shouldn’t be happy...
If not for Belle, he probably wouldn’t have had a chance.
West Lake Villa...
As soon as Yvette arrived at the door, she saw Kamila walking back and forth in the courtyard with Belle in Kamila’s arms.
From time to time, Kamila patted Belle’s back softly to coax Belle.
Yvette panicked and hurriedly went forward while calling out in distress, "Belle."
Belle choked with sobs as she cried out, "Mommy..."
The little girl’s face was flushed as if she had been crying for a long time. Her long eyelashes were dried by the wind and stuck together. She looked pitiful.
Yvette was so distressed that she reached out to hug Belle.
"Belle."
Lance also cried out in distress.
When Belle saw Lance, her big eyes widened.
And she sobbed, "Daddy, you are alive..."
Lance had already reached out to hold Belle from Kamila’s arms. He smiled, "I’m in good health. And I’m not that weak."
Belle held Lance’s neck tightly, and she sized Lance up without blinking with tears in her big eyes.
It was as if she was observing if her father was injured or if her father was lying to her.
Yvette watched this scene and felt sad.
In the past, there was only her in Belle’s eyes...
Now there was another stinky man.
Although Belle still loved her unconditionally, she always felt like her daughter had been robbed away.
She stood there and calmed herself down before she realized that she was jealous of Lance.
She was hesitating whether she should let Belle get too close to Lance.
She was afraid that if she had to make a choice one day, she would hurt Belle...
Belle was too young to notice Lance’s pale face. She only cared about whether Lance was hurt or not. While looking at Lance’s handsome face, she felt that everything was fine.
She was in a good mood. She held Lance’s face with her fleshy little hand and kissed it.
Lance felt so happy.
Belle asked again, "Daddy, then why are you dizzy?"
"Because I didn’t eat breakfast today and didn’t get enough nutrition. You have to eat obediently..."
Lance held Belle and spoke seriously as he walked inside.
Lance said something in Belle’s ear, and Belle laughed.
Kamila followed behind them and asked in surprise, "Mr. Wolseley, you know how to coax children. I have been coaxing her for half a day, but she has never been happy."
These words caused Yvette to frown slightly.
She thought that the love between parents and their children was more important than anything.
There were many male characters around Belle, such as Marlon, Stephen, and her father...
With so much love from the elders, Belle and Lance were the closest.
That kind of closeness seemed to be born with no estrangement at all.
Belle’s psychological physician once said that no matter how much love other male elders gave, it couldn’t replace the love from Belle’s father.
But the psychological physician also said that a healthy family needed parents to be loving first before their children could grow up healthy.
But there were so many misunderstandings and injuries between Yvette and Lance, how could they love each other again...
In the room...
Belle refused to leave Lance tonight. She stayed in Lance’s arms except when Lance went to the bathroom.
Lance looked at Belle with love in his eyes. He liked to be with his daughter.
But Yvette saw that Lance’s face was pale. And even when Lance bent down occasionally, Yvette could see that there was a thin layer of sweat on his temples.
It was obvious that after vomiting blood and fainting, Lance had not completely recovered.
But Lance forced a smile and played with Belle patiently...
Yvette went up to Lance and took Belle over from Lance’s arms. She said gently, "Good girl. It’s late. We have to prepare to take a bath and sleep."
Belle was playing happily and refused to let Lance leave.
She held Yvette’s neck and said in a childish voice, "Mommy, can you let Daddy stay here tonight?"
Yvette didn’t expect that Belle would make such a request. She was stunned, and Lance looked at her expectantly.
But Lance didn’t know that his face was already very pale.
The paleness showed that Lance had been exhausted.
Yvette felt sorry for Lance. And she had always felt so before.
But after realizing that it might be her love for Lance, she suddenly panicked.
She secretly warned herself that she should not be soft-hearted...
She suppressed her emotions and said, "No."
Belle didn’t understand why Yvette refused it. She pouted and said, "Uncle Marlon occasionally lives here. Why can’t Daddy do it?"
Yvette explained, "Marlon is our relative. He can live here."
These words sounded bad to Lance.
He felt like being hurt again and again.
It also made his handsome face even paler.
Belle still didn’t understand and asked with a puzzled expression, "Then isn’t Daddy our relative? My classmate at the same table with me said that his Daddy and Mommy are the most intimate people in the world. But why aren’t my Daddy and Mommy so?"
Yvette didn’t know how to explain it.
Did she have to tell Belle that they were not intimate at all?
Fortunately, Lance solved the dilemma.
He touched Belle’s little head and said in a low voice smilingly, "Good girl. It’s late. Listen to Mommy and go to sleep."
Belle wanted to ask more questions, but she also felt that her father seemed to be a little tired.
So she pouted and said, "Okay, goodbye Daddy."
Yvette looked at Lance’s deep eyes and went to the bathroom while holding Belle without saying anything.
Kamila came over to help Belle take a shower. Yvette came out to get Belle’s pajamas, and she saw that Lance was still standing at the door.
She glanced at Lance and frowned. "Why are you still here?"
Lance’s handsome brows furrowed slightly. He looked at Yvette and asked in a hoarse voice, "Yve, can you walk with me out of here?"
