After the last afternoon class ended, there was an hour of break time before the evening self-study session began. During this time, the sports field was quite crowded, mostly with boys, including Li Yue and Gu Xun. They usually started with about twenty minutes of exercise, rested for a few minutes, and then headed to the cafeteria for dinner.

"Hey, Brother Yi, didn’t you say you weren’t coming?" the two stopped mid-game when they saw an unexpected person show up, looking at him in surprise.

Jiang Zhiyi: "Cut the chit-chat. Are you up for a two-on-one or not?"

"Bring it on!" Gu Xun raised his hand, tossing the ball to Jiang Zhiyi, and then he and Li Yue both got into defensive positions.

Jiang Zhiyi caught the ball with one hand, bounced it twice on the ground, then looked up, aimed for the basket, and shot the ball using his wrist.

The ball spun around the rim twice before securely dropping into the net.

Gu Xun and Li Yue couldn’t help but exchange glances and then both looked back at Jiang Zhiyi.

Alright, starting off strong.

The two of them then started to cooperate fully, guarding closely, but the opponent’s style was so fast and aggressive that neither of them could keep up with him alone.

Half an hour later, both Li Yue and Gu Xun were exhausted. One was gasping for air with his hands on his knees, the other just collapsed on the ground and said, "I can’t do it anymore, I can’t run anymore. Brother Yi, are you on some kind of adrenaline rush?"

It was just a game of basketball, yet they felt like they were seeing a determined fight in the opponent.

Hearing this, Li Yue moved even faster than Gu Xun, "Let’s go, let’s go! I’m starving." In front of food, both decisively abandoned their brotherly care.

Soon the sports field was left with only Jiang Zhiyi, his figure elongated by the setting sun and the sound of the basketball hitting the ground echoed.

An unusual silence and clarity.

During the evening self-study, as the first class began, Li Yue turned to look at the empty seat behind him, raising an eyebrow in surprise, "Brother Yi hasn’t come back yet?"
