Shen Weiyi rushed to the parade ground half an hour after military training had started.

"Reporting!"

The instructor glanced at her, then let her join the formation.

Yan Xiaoyue whispered to her, "Didn’t you say you had something and wouldn’t come? I’ve already asked for leave on your behalf."

"The issue has been resolved," Shen Weiyi replied.

"Oh, oh!"

Seeing the instructor looking over, both of them quickly shut their mouths and looked straight ahead.

The instructor soon announced a break, but Shen Weiyi was asked to stay and continue standing at attention.

While everyone else sat, only she stood, prompting nearly the whole field of people to stare at her.

Shen Weiyi didn’t really mind; she had arrived late, so it was only right to stand a bit longer. However, she had only been standing for two minutes when she saw Jiang Zhiyi’s figure appear on the parade ground.

Shen Weiyi couldn’t help but frown.

He still hadn’t taken her advice to heart.

She wanted to be ruthless and ignore him, but remembering how he had lain unconscious in the school infirmary softened her resolve, and ultimately, her concern overcame her reason. She couldn’t resist running over to him.

Shen Weiyi dashed over and grabbed him. "Why didn’t you go back to rest?"

"I’m fine!" Jiang Zhiyi said coolly.

Even though he had received an IV drip, his complexion still looked pale.

"Jiang Zhiyi, can’t you be more mature?" Shen Weiyi frowned. "Can’t you stop making others worry about you? If you think acting this way will earn sympathy, then you’re wrong. ’One must love oneself before others will, and one must help oneself before others will.’ If you don’t love yourself, then nobody in this world will love you."

Love oneself seventy percent, and others thirty percent; only by loving oneself first can someone love others better. If someone doesn’t even love themselves, who could they expect to love him, or who could they expect him to love?

Jiang Zhiyi’s lips turned even paler, his pallid face nearly transparent under the sunlight’s glare.

It took a while before his voice was heard: "I understand now!"

Shen Weiyi looked at him and knew she had done all she could do. If he continued like this, she wouldn’t interfere anymore.

People must learn to grow up and take responsibility for their own lives and actions.

She felt tenderhearted toward him but wouldn’t always be so.

The actions she took were all because they had grown up together; there wouldn’t be more than that.

Returning to the formation, she saw the instructor looking darkly at them.

Oh no!

A voice in Shen Weiyi’s mind sounded off, then she resignedly stepped forward. "I’m sorry, instructor. I’m willing to accept the punishment."

It was all because of Jiang Zhiyi, this troublesome guy.

But, unexpectedly, the instructor said nothing, only instructing her to continue standing at attention.

The afternoon sun was even more scorching than in the morning, as if trying to roast people alive. After about twenty minutes, where there had been blazing sun overhead, suddenly a few dark clouds drifted in, and soon, large drops of rain fell.

It was the first rain since the start of military training, and cheers erupted on the parade ground.

The instructors temporarily brought all the students indoors.

Fang Jing leaned at the doorway, watching the heavy rain. "It would be great if it rained every day from now on."

"Don’t dream," Yan Xiaoyue immediately shattered her illusion, staring at the curtain of rain and saying, "But this rain is so strange; there was no forecast for rain today!"
