Chapter 13: Chapter 13 I Just Simply Dislike You
Hearing the voice, the smile on Shen Weiyi’s face vanished instantly, and she lifted her head to look at the newcomer with visible irritation in her face, even her voice turned cold as she said, "What is it?"
Xu Chenxi’s facial expression stiffened for a moment, but she quickly recovered her composure and feigned surprise as she looked at Shen Weiyi and then at the group of little kids beside her. "Sister Yiyi, why are you playing with a bunch of kids? Did you have another fight with my brother? Don’t tell me he’s angry and ignoring you again? Want me to go back and talk to him for you?"
"No need!" Shen Weiyi looked at the other with cold eyes. "Jiang Zhiyi and I have already broken up. From now on, his business has nothing to do with me, and my business is not his concern."
"Broken up?" Xu Chenxi’s eyes brightened for a moment, a glint of joy flashing through, but it was quickly restrained as she said to Shen Weiyi, "It’s not because my brother is still mad at you about the soccer game the day before yesterday, right? Don’t overthink it; he probably just said it in the heat of the moment. Once he calms down, he will come and coax you."
Shen Weiyi glanced at her and said, "You don’t need to probe anymore; I was the one who suggested the breakup."
Xu Chenxi’s gaze flickered, and she forced a smile, "Sister Yiyi, do you have some misunderstanding about me? I’m just concerned about the two of you."
"There’s no need; I’m fine and don’t need the concern of others." Shen Weiyi withdrew her gaze; she disliked the other person and naturally didn’t care to say much else; she directly took Little Douding’s hand and said, "Little Bao, let’s go."
Then she heard Xu Chenxi’s voice behind her, filled with grievance, "Sister Yiyi, have I offended you in some way? Why don’t you like me?"
"You haven’t offended me!" Shen Weiyi stopped, turned around, and looked at her indifferently, "I simply don’t like you."
There’s a thing called fate between people. Maybe they were just naturally incompatible.
From the first time Jiang Zhiyi brought that girl in front of her, Shen Weiyi didn’t like her.
Behind her, Xu Chenxi’s face completely stiffened. As Shen Weiyi’s figure walked away, a hint of annoyance flashed at the bottom of Xu Chenxi’s eyes.
Moments later, she withdrew her gaze, ready to leave, but then she inadvertently saw a figure standing not too far away.
Because Sheng Ting was standing some distance from Shen Weiyi and Little Bao, and because Shen Weiyi hadn’t called out to him when she left with Little Bao, Xu Chenxi didn’t connect the two of them and just thought that he happened to be passing by.
Although curious about when their neighborhood had acquired such a good-looking person, with other things on her mind, she only glanced at him and then withdrew her gaze.
Xu Chenxi returned home and saw Jiang Zhiyi sitting on the living room sofa playing video games. Remembering that Shen Weiyi had said the two broke up, she mentioned seemingly casually, "Brother Yi, I just saw Sister Yiyi."
"Where is she?" Jiang Zhiyi quickly looked up, his eyes shining with obvious interest and urgency. The next second, sounds of character death came from the game.
Xu Chenxi’s facial expression became frozen, and she spoke somewhat stiffly, "She was just at the entrance of our neighborhood, playing hopscotch with a bunch of kids, but..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she saw a figure dash past her; Jiang Zhiyi had leaped from the sofa and was running toward the doorway.
"...she must have left by now." Xu Chenxi pursed her lips and finished the last few words. However, the figure she was speaking to was no longer in the living room.
Xu Chenxi’s eyes quickly turned cold, and her hand involuntarily clenched at her side.
Weren’t they supposed to have broken up?
She didn’t understand. What was it about that girl that made him care so much?
