Chapter 327: Chapter 317: Little Genius Plan (2nd Update) Chapter 327: Chapter 317: Little Genius Plan (2nd Update) Denghis Xisi had barely uttered the words “prepare to die” when… an icicle pierced through his chest and nailed him to the wall, which was covered with chunks of Abyssal flesh.
“Biland Island is just a newborn baby,” said the Magic Thief Medes, his hands conjuring extreme cold frost, and his pupils turning a deep blue as he stared at Denghis Xisi. “Whereas Black Tide Island has already devoured countless civilizations on the star map. Enemies that are too much for a baby to overcome can be left to us adults to handle.”
“Adults?”
Denghis Xisi looked at the ice spike embedded in his chest, the painful sensation making his thoughts even clearer.
“Medes, he is our kin!” The female Magic Thief put her hand on Medes’s shoulder, signaling that his actions were too extreme.
The frost in Medes’s hand dissipated, and Denghis Xisi slid down from the wall. A surge of Holy Light emanated from Denghis Xisi’s chest, accelerating the healing of his wounds.
“The Power of Devouring God, as well as the Power of Abyss and Chaotic Power…” Denghis Xisi raised his head; he could feel the genuine Power of Devouring God within these Magic Thieves.
And not some chaotic mimicry of power…
They were indeed much, much stronger than the half-baked Magic Thieves on Biland Island.
The Magic Thieves on Biland Island were either his apprentices or extremely vicious criminals who had switched sides; they had virtually no combat skills… But the Magic Thieves before Denghis Xisi were all survivors who had lived through protracted battles on Black Tide Island.
“What else do you want? The Power of Annihilation or the Plunder Statues?”
Denghis Xisi vaguely sensed that the goals of these Magic Thieves might not be as simple as just driving away the invaders of Black Tide Island.
“Everything, but now we need to bring back the third Island Master, our kin from Biland Island.”
Reminded by his companion, Magic Thief Medes’s tone became much more restrained. He handed a stack of thick paper and a pen to Denghis Xisi.
“You just need to draw the map of Biland Island on it, including the distribution of the Holy Spirit’s guards and marking the places most likely to hide the Island Master.”
Denghis Xisi didn’t refuse the proposal; he picked up the pen and began to draw the map of Biland Island on the paper.
“Are there many of our kin on the island?” The female Magic Thief asked, a question of her own concern.
“Many, most of them are my apprentices, and now they all… ” Denghis Xisi wanted to say ‘living in the stronghold of the Holy Spirits.’
But seeing that the Magic Thieves from Black Tide Island didn’t believe the Holy Spirits would treat Magic Thieves kindly…
Denghis Xisi also hoped that the conflict between the Magic Thieves of Black Tide Island and the Holy Spirits would intensify. Moreover, Denghis Xisi had planted many apprentices to lie low inside the Holy Spirits’ stronghold.
The aim was to dismantle the stronghold of the Holy Spirits from within when the time came, and to rescue his apprentices at the same time!
“They are imprisoned in the stronghold of the Holy Spirits,” Denghis Xisi offered an alternate narrative.
“Didn’t you say earlier that the Holy Spirits are very kind?” Magic Thief Medes noticed the inconsistency in Denghis Xisi’s words.
“Kindness is reserved only for those willing to submit to them, my kin lost their freedom after being kidnapped by the Holy Spirits. If possible, please rescue them all.”
Denghis Xisi no longer confronted the Magic Thieves of Black Tide Island; his tone had turned into a plea.
“The task the Matriarch gave us was to find the third Island Master, but we will do everything we can to… rescue our kin on Biland Island from the Holy Spirits,” said the female Magic Thief, sounding much more approachable.
“Thank you.”
During the conversation, Denghis Xisi had already sketched a rough map of Biland Island, marking the strongholds built by the major guilds.
“You still haven’t answered our most important question, aside from using the monolith gates, is there any other way to get to Biland Island?” Medes, the Magic Thief, continued to press Denghis Xisi.
The Magic Thieves of Black Tide Island did not fear waging war against the Holy Spirits; they were the aggressors, while the Holy Spirits were the defenders.
But every battle had to be worth fighting, and now, aside from plundering the Power of Devouring God from the Holy Spirits to sate their own Chaotic Power, the most important thing was to find and bring back the third Island Master.
“I’ve already said, you either join the Holy Spirits… or pretend to be captured by them.”
Denghis Xisi knew that the Magic Thieves’ investment in the skill of ‘Stellar Movement’ was far less than that of the planar pirates and the Legion of Annihilation; abilities of space and time were the most difficult to replicate.
“If the Holy Spirits are really as he described…unwary of our betrayal, we could give it a try,” the female Magic Thief also agreed with Denghis Xisi’s statement.
“Give it a try? Have you forgotten what it feels like to have your flesh torn apart by the powers of the Holy Spirits, Wenna? The chilling pain is far worse than the damage inflicted by the Legion of Annihilation!” Medes’ tone became anxious again at the thought of handing their heads over to the Holy Spirits.
“The Abyss has granted you the power of rebirth, do you still fear death?”
Denghis Xisi glanced at the wriggling bladders behind him, a vivid display of the might of the Power of Abyss…As a virus, it had an incredibly potent ability to infect, but as a medical procedure, it could bring someone back to life, even if they had only their brain or even soul remaining.
The Magic Thieves had already obtained the support of the Power of Abyss, and together with the hive-mind consciousness of the Magic Thieves, death should have been temporarily distant from them.
“Pain! Death is nothing to me; what I despise is the pain! In fewer than a few hours of combat with that group of Magic Thieves, I’ve experienced every pain in the world!”
While Medes was speaking, the female Magic Thief beside him was already rubbing her forehead with a headache.
This so-called adult Magic Thief lacked any of the maturity one would expect, while Denghis Xisi seemed to be the most composed among them.
“We could try your suggestion, send one or two to be captured by the Holy Spirits, and it could also be used to gather intelligence,” said Wenna, the female Magic Thief.
“Then you’d better choose the right candidates.”
Denghis Xisi seemed to hear something at that moment, turning his gaze toward the ruins above, where the sound indicated something large was hovering.
“The Holy Spirits have arrived,” Denghis Xisi said.
“They’ve come a bit slower than we expected, but all the traps of this ruin are intact; I wonder how long it will take those Holy Spirit Flowers to reach us.”
The arrival of the Holy Spirits and planar pirates was completely expected by the Magic Thieves present.
Denghis Xisi was also curious to see just how strong these ‘adult’ Magic Thieves really were.
