Rosie's Games
Chapter 561 561: Confrontation 6

Dorothy looked back to where the barrier had been. The disturbance earlier had not been enough to destroy the barrier, and it still stood there, as magnificent as it had been.

She slowly made her way into the barrier, confident that Rosalind would not be able to stand anytime soon. She walked through the snow as slowly as she could, conserving the meager strength she had left. After what felt like forever, she finally touched the barrier and began absorbing its essence.

She knew that once its essence ran out, it would slowly start to crumble. At this point, Dorothy did not care if the barrier would break. All she cared about was making herself stronger once again.

Once that happened, it would be easier for her to leave this place and return to where the demons resided. From there, she could slowly create her own army and then fight against the new Demon Emperor. This was the only way to free all the humans in this world.

Moreover, she had more things to take care of on the other side. With a new body, it would be easier for her to investigate some things that she had left. She closed her eyes and immersed herself in some memories from the past.

In the past, she had thought that becoming a demoness was the only way to defeat the Demon Emperor, but what if there was another way?

This time, time was with her. She could live forever while researching more about the things that could potentially defeat them. Just the thought of this made her excited about what was to come.

After recovering, she once again turned toward Rosalind, who was still on the ground. Then she snorted.

The woman was weak, yet Lucas dared to ask the goddess to give the body back to its original soul.

Was it because he preferred a weaker woman? She sneered. What would she expect from a demon? He must have been looking for a weaker woman that he could easily manipulate.

The bitterness in the goddess's heart soon got tangled with the anger that the original body of Dorothy had for Rosalind.

Dorothy narrowed her eyes, and then she raised her hand. Slowly, Rosalind's body floated into the air and shot towards Dorothy like an arrow.

Dorothy then held Rosalind's neck as she smiled at her already weak younger sister. "I still won," the Goddess said.

The Goddess was aware of what had happened in Rosalind's past. It was Dorothy and Jeames who had killed Rosalind.

Now, it seemed that history would repeat itself. Dorothy would once again kill the helpless Rosalind.

She watched as Rosalind weakly opened her eyes. Blood covered half of Rosalind's face, making this sight a bit hideous. This however made Dorothy smile.

Then she loosened her grip on Rosalind's neck, allowing her the opportunity to speak. She wanted Rosalind to beg for her life.

"How foolish," Rosalind said, her voice weak.

"Foolish?" Dorothy lifted an eyebrow. Was this woman still expecting Lucas to come and save her? If so, then the only one who was foolish was her, not Dorothy nor the Goddess inside her.

"Since you—cough—since you—like winning then—you can just have this," Rosalind said. Out of nowhere, she extended her hand and placed a crown on Dorothy's head.

Dorothy had never expected such an act. She had expected Rosalind to reveal some special weapon, a dagger, perhaps a sword, and attack her.

Then Dorothy would show Rosalind that such an attack would not work on her. Why would it? Physical attacks no longer worked on her!

However, a crown?

Dorothy wanted to laugh. What could a crown do? Out of nowhere, flashes of memories assaulted her senses.

Dorothy frowned. She was about to start talking when the memories escalated, prompting her to let go of Rosalind.

Rosalind fell onto the once pristine white snow. However, this time, Rosalind showed no weakness. She knew that her time was almost up.

Without having second thoughts, she finished the chant that she had been doing since they had tumbled out of that barrier.

Attbia Temal Vinana

Luaoaellus Ravaaiesta Tenerate

Tenoyoarum Acaaiecane Acriaeatio

Then she lifted her head just in time to meet Dorothy's wide eyes. "What did you—" Dorothy's eyes were wide. She thought she heard Rosalind say something very familiar.

An uneasy feeling wrapped around her, but before she could even react, thunder reverberated in the air. Lightning cackled, and the snow started moving around them like a tornado.

"What have you done!?" Dorothy screamed. Once again, she tried to pull Rosalind back up, but this time, she felt her body losing all the power that she had just absorbed from the barrier.

"You actually—" Dorothy did not continue her words. Who would have thought that Rosalind would use the same chant that those humans did when they absorbed the seven blessings? A chant that could only be done with the sacrifice of something great, like... a life.

Dorothy stared at Rosalind's smiling face. "You lunatic!" she hissed and hastily tried to move out of the way, only for Rosalind to hold her knees.

"You will die!" Dorothy said. She could only think of one thing that Rosalind was capable of sacrificing, and that was her... life. What kind of lunatic would do such a thing?

She gritted her teeth as her strength slowly left her body. Dorothy already knew what was coming, yet she never expected this body to be so fragile and weak! If this ritual was done with the goddess's original body, then this would have left her weak, but... this ritual was done on a clone with only a fragment of her soul—her weak soul.

The goddess could only grit her teeth as her gaze slowly turned dark. She thought of her plans, the things that she needed to accomplish. Was this truly the end? Was this truly her end?

She swallowed all of her grievances. All she wanted was to help the humans, yet somehow they... they betrayed her. If given a chance, she would never do it again! If she only knew then what she knew now...
