Rosie's Games
Chapter 511 511: One of Them

"The barrier is not something that you can touch," Lucas said. "As much as it would be tempting to use the liquid, it would be futile as demons can also use it to their advantage," Lucas answered.

Rosalind nodded. "Then, I will start absorbing the demonic energy," Rosalind calmly said.

"Are you not in a rush to leave this place to inform Belisarius about the black liquid?" he mused.

"No," this fact surprised her, but it was not like she could change this. Her only option now is to make herself stronger. Once that happens, then it would be easier for her to use her abilities when the time comes.

It took her about an hour to absorb everything. However, while this was happening, Belisarius was taking care of Maledrax.

Belisarius's appearance turned uglier as he watched the demons and humans surrounding Brinley's body. Tracking Maledrax had been very easy for Belisarius. The demon was already injured and naturally weaker than Belisarius. He thought the demon would be staying in a cave or perhaps an underground place where he could recuperate in silence.

Who would have thought that the demon would actually come to a place that seemed to exist for years!

Years!

It seemed that the demon had been planning everything for years! This fact alone was enough to irritate him. Belisarius wanted to know the extent of this operation, so he chose to walk around the enemies' hideout, wanting to find out more. Sadly, what he found not only surprised him but was enough to make him horrified!

This place is not just a hideout but a laboratory where the monsters were created! It was simply a place that was made to experiment on humans and blessings! Preposterous!

He never thought that this would happen!

He watched as shadows danced eerily on the walls, flickering ominously. Belisarius, shrouded in invisibility, observed the harrowing scene before him. The air was thick with a sense of malevolence, a vile energy that danced in the air.

The dimly lit cavern was a twisted fusion of malevolent design and grotesque experimentation. The demons, their forms both terrifying and repugnant, were fervently engaged in a sinister ritual, attempting to summon a more powerful demon from the depths of the abyss. Their chants and incantations echoed through the chamber, creating a discordant cacophony that added to the unsettling atmosphere.

Belisarius, though invisible, could feel the heat of their ritualistic flames and the acrid stench of burning sulfur that pervaded the air. It was a stark reminder of the dark forces at play and the imminent danger that threatened to spill forth from this accursed place.

What truly surprised him was the existence of Brinley Fleur in the middle of the demons. Who would have thought that the Thun Family would actually dare to use a blessed body as a sacrifice to summon an even more powerful demon?

The hum in the air grew in intensity, a dissonant melody that set the nerves on edge. Belisarius fixated on Brinley's lifeless form, his body seemingly defying gravity as it hovered above the ground. It was a grim tableau, a mockery of life, and a grim reminder of the power these malevolent forces possessed.

"What is going on?" Ena Thun's voice interrupted his stupor. "He told me something is here…." Ena narrowed at the group of demons surrounding Brinley. "What a waste of time."

"Your Blessedness, we already made sure that the place is highly secure. We sent people to check everywhere and we could not find any intruder," a man with a large sword frowned as he looked around. "There is no one else here."

Ena Thun frowned. A part of her could feel it, yet she did not know if this was merely something caused by that man with white hair.

"Make sure to check every nook of this place. I don't want to encounter problems now that we are about to finish the ritual."

"I understand," the man nodded and left. Meanwhile, Ena also started walking towards the place where the demon had been resting.

"Did you find anything?" Maledrax hissed. He was crouching on the ground, his face bloodied from consuming the remains of a human.

"Nothing," Ena turned her head away from the gory things in front of her.

"And the body?" Maledrax uttered.

"I am working on it," Ena said.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Find me another body. Do you think I would be able to help you if I am not in my best condition?"

Ena had to stop herself from exploding. How dare this ugly demon treat her like this?

However, Ena understood that she was powerless against the demon— at least right now. Once that Archduke demon comes, then she would not have any problem. She knew that the demon would recognize her potential and give her what she wanted.

At that time, she would never hesitate to end this demon's misery!

"Alright. I will let you know." Ena turned around and left the room. Unbeknownst to her, the moment she left, a sudden flash hit Maledrax's back.

The demon who was busily eating his fill was not able to avoid the flash. When he noticed it, it was already too late. A part of his rotting body was no longer intact.

As the blinding flash struck Maledrax's back, Belisarius emerged from the shadows, revealing himself as the orchestrator of this unexpected attack. Caught off guard and struggling to defend himself, the demon roared in defiance. Yet, it was too late. Belisarius had already conjured something even stronger. By now, Maledrax's decayed form was being rapidly consumed by the relentless light magic.

"You— " Maledrax struggled to speak. He knew it was the end. However, he was still wondering why this man was able to locate him. And that was when he realized something— something that he had forgotten. Something that happened a long— long time ago.

"You are one of them…." Maledrax struggled to speak as he glared at Belisarius.

"Dead demons… do not speak," Belisarius uttered, a smirk plastered on his handsome face.
