Chapter 506 506: The Demon General

As they say, do not count your eggs before they hatch. Maledrax learned this lesson the hard way as he truly underestimated the white-haired man who appeared in the middle of nowhere. In Maledrax's mind, this place did not seem to have anyone stronger than him. After all, he was already a Demon General who had been working for an Archduke for more than four hundred years!

Despite the fact that he was in a new body, he was still strong enough to defeat most of the humans in this place! Who would have thought that the white-haired man was not only stronger than him, but it seemed that he was even more brutal, more intense? Maledrax's face turned ugly as the realization set in.

This time, he did not hesitate to use everything he had to beat the man. Yet, contrary to his expectations, the man with white hair seemed to know all of his weaknesses!

"Impossible!" Maledrax uttered, his face ugly. Black blood was starting to seep through his lips, his appearance now disheveled. "Who are you?"

The white-haired man snorted. "Dead demons usually do not ask questions."

"You-" he never wasted the time to use every ability that he had just to defeat the man! Forget about capturing the man alive! Who cares if the man's appearance is ruined? This man's body is not only powerful! It is compatible with a demon!

He sent a black orb full of malice before he vanished and once again attacked the man's left. For some reason, the white-haired man simply avoided his attack as if he was already anticipating it.

"How could someone like you exist on this continent?" Maledrax had the impression that everyone here is weak! Not even those blessed individuals are strong enough to defeat a Demon General! Then.... who is this man?

"Answer me!" Maledrax demanded his eyes, or at least one of them was about to fall off his face. "Who are you?"

"So talkative...." The white-haired man snorted. Naturally, this white-haired man was Belisarius. He narrowed at the Demon, his lips twisted into a sinister smirk. "How did you, Demon General, come to this continent?" he asked.

"You- How did you know I am a Demon General?"

Belisarius rolled his eyes. For some reason, he could feel that this demon had been underestimating him, playing with him as if he were some rat in front of a cat. Did he not notice that Belisarius is more powerful than him? Or was he simply a stupid demon? Belisarius squinted.

"So it seems that you have been occupying a body that cannot withstand your abilities...." He stared at the man's appearance that was revealed because of his ruined cloak. The man's face was already rotting. One of his eyes was about to fall off its sockets and half of his face already had worms in it.

"It seems that the body you occupied was a weakling," Belisarius mocked. "How stupid can you be?" To occupy a dead body that was damaged? He wondered if this demon thought that he could heal the body!

In fact, Maledrax thought he could heal the body, so he chose to occupy it. Since coming to this continent, this was the first time he occupied a body with wounds in it. This was not a mistake.

The body that he occupied in the past did not have wounds in it. In fact, it was alive when Ena gave him the body. He thought nothing would go wrong this time, but after a few years, it started rotting from the inside.

So, he thought of choosing a dead body. Sadly, this body had wounds in it, but he still thought he could easily heal it once he was already inside the body. So, he moved his soul and made a mistake. When he realized that he could no longer heal the body, it was already too late.

"So you are indeed stupid," Belisarius taunted, a smirk apparent on his handsome face.

Hearing the mockery in his tone, Maledrax almost exploded from anger. He sent more and more orbs toward Belisarius, not even caring if he would destroy the latter's face. In his mind, he could easily heal the man when he was about to die and then forcefully move his soul into Belisarius's body.

He refused to believe that he could not occupy this body as it was generally weaker since it was born on this continent!

However, Maledrax soon realized that Belisarius was not even serious about fighting him. He was smirking and toying with him as if he wanted him to run out of his demonic energy!

And that was when Maledrax realized that he was in danger. His face turned ugly, and the first response was to flee. He used a large orb of demonic energy to try and distract Belisarius.

A loud boom echoed.

Maledrax felt the urgency of the situation and focused on gathering his remaining energy for an escape. The explosion caused by the orb provided a smokescreen, which he utilized to make his move.

Belisarius was momentarily hindered by the blast. However, he quickly regained his composure. He knew he had to act fast, or the demon would slip away. His white hair seemed to crackle with unseen energy as he focused on sensing Maledrax's movements through the chaos.

Maledrax immediately used the cover of smoke and debris and started to retreat, trying to put as much distance as possible between himself and the relentless white-haired adversary. His mind raced, contemplating his next move.

He needed to find a place to hide and recover his strength. He knew Belisarius wouldn't be fooled for long, but even a brief rest would be beneficial.

Belisarius caught a glimpse of movement amidst the billowing smoke. He charged through, his form a blur of white, eyes fierce and determined. He saw Maledrax attempting to escape and increased his speed, closing the gap rapidly.

However, just as he was about to send a deadly attack, electricity crackled in the air.

**BOOM**

A lightning bolt hit Belisarius in the chest.
