Rise of the Harem King -
Chapter 86: Battle
Chapter 86: Battle
Suddenly, Davi vanished into thin air, and in his place, five imposing enemies emerged. To make the situation even worse, hundreds of monsters were unleashed in the middle of the student camp, bringing chaos.
Noticing that her enemies’ intention was to create chaos, Sophia quickly scanned the surroundings, she needed to look for the best way for a contour atack.
However, before she could even open her mouth to give orders, a sharp pain shot through her body, making her eyes widen as she struggled to suppress a scream.
Luckily, she managed to dodge the assassination attempt by instinct, but her shoulder was still cut by an invisible blade that seemed to come out of nowhere.
Of course, the blonde girl had seen Davi block that attack just moments before, so she had an idea of who was responsible. Still, knowing that Sherazade was invisible and ready to strike again was useless if she had no way of locating her opponent.
But the woman was not alone on that battlefield. Her ever-loyal servant was, as always, at her side and was the first to react to the situation.
Once again, he summoned that creature that looked like a bat, with a large eye in the center of its forehead. Quickly, the creature scanned the hundreds of types of mana present in that place until it found one that matched Sherazade’s.
Carlos then connected his vision to that of his monster, allowing him to see the world as mana, just as the creature did. Naturally, the change made him dizzy for a moment, but he had trained extensively to use that ability properly. So, before Sherazade could attack Sophia again, he intervened, drawing a sword and deflecting her strike.
Immediately afterward, he summoned two more creatures. One of them resembled a large rhinoceros and, as soon as it was summoned, charged aggressively at the opponent.
The second creature was even stranger. Its appearance resembled that of a small chimpanzee, but hairless and with an eerily pale complexion. Additionally, its limbs were disproportionately long compared to its small body, making the creature even more strange to look at.
Anyway, following its master’s orders, the bizarre creature let out a roar, causing several adverse effects on Sherazade. However, despite losing speed and strength, she still managed to dodge the attack from the charging monster.
Trying to keep up the pressure without giving her a second to breathe, the strange monkey raised one of its arms, gathering a glowing sphere in it. Then, it hurled it like a stone.
The attack flew toward Sherazade with astonishing speed and pierced her shoulder in an instant. She then took a step to the side, barely dodging the second strike.
Regardless, Sherazade was not the only one targeting Sophia. In fact, she was merely a distraction.
"Sylvia, protect me!" Realizing her enemies’ true intentions, the blonde immediately commanded.
Right afterward, she used the skill , causing all her allies within a three-meter radius around her to instantly gain a 20% boost to their main stats.
The range was small, but it was enough to assist Sylvia and Carlos, who were currently close to the girl and trying to protect her.
The decision quickly proved to be the right one, as it was thanks to the extra agility given by Sophia, that Sylvia managed to dodge the surprise attack from one of the combat specialists among the men Amanda had sent.
However, a second enemy soon approached the battle, and before anyone could react, he activated a teleportation seal he had been carrying, and upon touching Sophia, he managed to transport her far away with him.
The original plan was for at least two men to quickly deal with the girl, but even if it was only one man, he should easily succeed. As strong as she was, what could a support-type fighter possibly do against a close quarter combatant?
Moreover, they had achieved successfully their primary objective: dismantling the students’ chain of command
However, the chaos that had been created was also starting to diminish, thanks to Alexia’s efforts, who had slain a large number of weaker monsters.
The other students, especially the high-ranked ones, also contributed significantly, reducing the number of enemies. After so many terrifying near-death experiences, this group of students had become much more capable of handling pressure and chaotic situations.
Additionally, at least temporarily, Alden had managed to keep the most powerful enemies focused on him. Because of this, he was being pummeled by hundreds of attacks, but he could probably endure for another minute or two.
During this time, the students had to find a way to turn the tide against the surprise attack they had suffered, all without even having a leader to follow.
It was at that moment that the ground cracked, and a deafening roar echoed through the battlefield, as Sylvia launched a full-force attack against her opponent.
Following her lead, everyone there began using their trump cards and unleashing their full power, doing everything possible to turn the situation around.
But without a clear focus, many of these efforts were naturally wasted.
To make matters worse, Carlos was under intense pressure from Sherazade, being pushed further and further into a corner. He no longer had the energy to summon new monsters, having already called forth a fourth and fifth beast in this battle.
On the other hand, Professor Toki was holding his own against one of the men Amanda had sent, and Sylvia also seemed close to winning her fight.
However, most of the damage they managed to inflict was being healed by the Belfort family member who had been sent to the battlefield, allowing the enemies to delay their defeat as much as possible.
Amid all this, it became increasingly clear that handling so many opponents at once would be nearly impossible.
Little by little, the group of students was being pushed to their limits. Before long, many were injured, some even reaching their breaking point.
In particular, Alden seemed unable to hold on any longer, as several monsters relentlessly continued attacking him.

At the same time, far from all that chaos, the blonde girl hurriedly analyzed her surroundings as she tried to compose herself. Realizing she had been transported to a vast chamber that didn’t resemble any of the places they had passed through inside the rift.
In truth, she had no way of knowing it, but she had been sent to an upper level, far from where the others were.
However, her eyes quickly locked onto an imposing and menacing figure standing before her. It was a towering man clad in black steel armor.
His helmet concealed his face, and his equipment was of the highest quality, showing no apparent weaknesses that could be easily exploited.
In his hands, he wielded a colossal double-bladed axe with a simple wooden handle. Compared to the rest of his gear, the weapon seemed rather plain.
However given the immense amount of mana emanating from it, Sophia quickly concluded that this was no ordinary weapon.
Before she could utter a word, the man was already charging at her with lethal intent, forcing her to take a hurried step back.
The giant swung his axe with brutal force, shattering the floor as his strike narrowly missed her by mere millimeters.
However, that didn’t slow him down in the slightest. With relentless aggression, he spun his body, preparing to unleash another devastating attack.
This time, with no way to dodge, the girl quickly raised a barrier, blocking her opponent’s strike.
But the man simply stepped back before swinging his axe with even greater force. This time, the blade glowed with a faint blue hue, and when it struck the barrier, a powerful sound reverberated through the air.
Sophia felt the impact of the blow, and for an instant, her vision blurred. But she took a deep breath and focused all her mana on maintaining the barrier.
Fortunately, her opponent wasn’t particularly fast, allowing her to skillfully concentrate her barrier over a smaller area, blocking only the direct point of impact.
This method conserved her mana, but even so, her enemy was overwhelmingly powerful and quickly managed to push her to the brink of collapse.
How much longer can I hold on like this? she wondered, breathing heavily as she watched her enemy’s axe descend upon her with terrifying fury.
At that moment, a torrent of flames erupted between her and her opponent, saving her at the last second.
Feeling her body reaching its limit, she clenched her fists tightly, forcing herself to stay conscious.
Finally, she turned to her right and saw her savior: a striking red-haired woman clad in ancient yet immensely powerful armor.
Sophia had only interacted with her a few times, but there was no way she wouldn’t recognize her name.
"Morrigan..." Sophia murmured in a breath.
"Yes. Don’t worry, everything will be fine now that I’m here," the woman said confidently before charging forward to attack the enemy before her.
