Chapter 63: labyrinth

The two had barely caught their breath after defeating the great king when, suddenly, the ground began to tremble again. It was as if the earth itself was alive, reacting to the fall of its leader with uncontrollable fury.

Davi and Sylvia exchanged quick glances—both wanted to enjoy each other’s presence a little longer, but they knew they couldn’t stop.

Before they could react, the ground cracked open, and with a deafening roar, thick and imposing walls began to rise from the earth. They were made of raw stone, engraved with ancient carvings and strange symbols.

The walls rose rapidly, surrounding them on all sides and forming a colossal labyrinth that stretched as far as the eye could see.

Immediately after, they heard the same voice from before echo inside their minds:

"The second challenge will begin immediately. All you have to do is reach the end of this labyrinth."

"But be quick, because if you don’t finish in time, you might die of thirst in this desert."

"Can you create water?" Naturally, Davi turned to Sylvia and asked immediately.

"No..." she lamented. "Actually, I can’t create anything that’s liquid. Maybe because it has no fixed form, it’s impossible to imagine."

She sighed as she spoke about it. Despite her power seeming limitless, human imagination itself was already a great limitation. Besides, it wasn’t as if her creations were truly real.

"I tried making food once," she began explaining, then made a bucket of fried chicken appear in her hand. She took a bite and offered the bucket to Davi. "Try it."

He accepted—but regretted it the moment he took a bite.

"This tastes awful. It’s like a mix of every fried chicken flavor at once, plus it’s way too greasy."

"Imagining taste is harder than you think. Especially with food that has multiple layers. For example, the skin of the chicken tastes different from the actual meat," she complained again.

Because of all these complications, Sylvia had given up on making her own food.

Well, maybe if that was the only problem, she would still use it in emergencies. The real issue was that the food she created would disappear after some time. And it had no nutritional value whatsoever.

"Wait, then why did you make me eat this?" Davi complained, holding the bucket she had given him.

"Because I wanted to see your reaction," she said in a monotone voice, showing no emotion.

Davi just sighed and decided they should start moving. But before that, he tried the obvious—climbing the walls to see the labyrinth from above.

However, as soon as he touched one of the walls, a powerful force repelled him. It was as if he had been struck by lightning.

"Are you okay?" Sylvia asked, stepping closer to him.

"No need to worry," he said, ruffling her hair to comfort her.

"No cheating in the labyrinth."

"All attempts at cheating will be severely punished. Do not destroy, damage, or climb the walls."

The voice echoed in their minds once more, but this time, the warning came too late. Davi still tried jumping high to see if he could get a better view, but as soon as his body passed a certain height, he was struck again, this time, the punishment was even worse.

He quickly used on himself. But it was clear that finding a loophole in this test wouldn’t be easy.

And if the punishments kept getting worse, it was possible he could die trying his next idea. Considering that, it was probably best to just solve the labyrinth properly.

"Let’s keep moving," Davi said with a confident smile.

He had an extraordinary memory and was usually great at these types of challenges. Because of that, he could practically create a map of all the places they passed through in his mind.

Additionally, it was still possible to make markings on the ground for safety. This way, they would know if they had taken the wrong path or something like that.

"Are you sure this is enough?"

"Yes, actually, even without the markings, if there’s nothing strange about this maze, I can solve it in my head."

"That’s amazing," Sylvia smiled as she complimented Davi. "I’ll trust you on this one."

As soon as she said that, the girl moved very close to Davi. And the boy couldn’t help but notice that she had been acting a little different since they had kissed.

She seemed more alive, she would stare at him for long periods of time, and she had started to get closer to him.

Of course, most of the time after the kiss, they had been fighting. So Davi couldn’t be sure, but he began to wonder if she had fallen for him or something like that.

And, basically answering his question, she suddenly got naked. Her clothes disappeared, revealing her small body and petite buttocks, which Davi wanted to grab once again.

Then she turned toward him, showing her small, firm breasts and an impossibly thin waist.

"You know we’re in a desert, not at the beach. Create clothes that can protect you from the sun," Davi said with an ironic smile, and as he took a step forward to continue searching for the exit, he gave the girl’s butt a slap.

"Wait, don’t you think we should take advantage of the time we have now to boost our abilities?" she said, referring to the <King’s Climax> power that would allow her to become stronger.

Davi immediately recognized her attempt at manipulation and sighed lightly before giving her a firm slap on the butt. Then, he told her to take the labyrinth seriously.

Davi and Sylvia continued navigating through the labyrinth, now more focused on the task of finding the exit. Surprisingly, it was just a normal labyrinth—albeit a gigantic one. So, after a few hours of walking and defeating some golems, they finally reached the end.

The place they arrived at was a large, empty hall. The walls were made of marble, but there were no inscriptions on them. In fact, there was nothing there at all, making Davi wonder if they had actually reached the right destination.

"Congratulations on completing the second challenge. The final challenge will begin in one hour."

His doubts were cleared when that voice once again echoed inside his head.

This time, however, they had a full hour to rest. Naturally, Davi turned to look at Sylvia, who stood beside him. Her large, innocent eyes burned with desire.

"Looks like we have some time," Davi said, an ironic smile forming on his lips. "What do you suggest we do?"

"Whatever you think is best, Master," Sylvia replied in a neutral tone—but her eyes said something entirely different.

Besides, this time, they actually had some time to spare. So, Davi decided to let himself go with the moment. He pulled the girl close and kissed her passionately.
