Chapter 42: The harem

After long hours of class, Davi was finally free. After some discussion via messages about the best place to meet, they decided on Ember’s house.

Since she was seen as a talentless daughter, she didn’t live in a mansion. Besides, her family wasn’t as wealthy as the Belforts. However, she still lived in a very luxurious apartment, which would be a good place for them to talk without being interrupted.

After all, anything they discussed in public would definitely become a hot topic. Davi could still feel the stares of everyone wherever he went after class.

And the person he thought would be the most bothered by all this was Luna. However, surprisingly, she was completely at ease and even seemed to enjoy the situation. That was because, amid all the chaos, she had been mostly forgotten.

At most, people would glance at her and murmur something about her being the girlfriend of the troublemaker. But no one actively paid much attention to her or approached her, which was exactly what she wanted.

If possible, she would love to live in the shadows of Davi and the others without being bothered too much.

Regardless, leaving her laboratory behind, she went to Enki’s main hall, where she had arranged to meet Davi. The plan was for the two of them to walk together to Ember’s house, or at least, that was the plan.

"Hey, do you have a moment for me?" While she was still waiting for Davi, Alexia appeared and approached with a friendly smile.

Luna was caught off guard by the sudden approach. And her heart sank a little, she really didn’t like to deal with people she didn’t know. But she took a long sigh, gathering energy for the task. As Alexi would be part of the harem, she would make an effort to talk with her.

"You’ve known Davi for longer, haven’t you?" Fortunately, Alexia took the initiative to steer the conversation, which made things easier for the reclusive researcher.

Luna hesitated for a moment before responding, explaining that they had known each other for about two years but had only met in person two weeks ago.

"Aren’t you jealous at all?" Chaggin topics, Alexia asked, she wanted to better understand that woman, who was clearly Davi’s favorite.

Alexia was completely prepared to share her man with other women, but she knew her own personality was unusual. She felt she was born to serve a strong master, and Davi simply seemed like the perfect candidate.

"I have my reasons," Luna replied, though she wasn’t sure if she should reveal her beloved’s class.

"What reasons?" Alexia pressed.

"Well..." Luna’s mind wandered through her memories. "The first time we slept together, he... well, he pleasured me to the point where I passed out. Clearly, Davi isn’t a man that just one woman can handle."

After saying such a dumb excuse, Luna looked away shyly.

"I see. As expected of my master." For some reason, the girl’s admiration for Davi grew even more after hearing that.

After that, Alexia noticed how uncomfortable Luna was. She was simply too socially awkward to handle the situation properly. So, the woman decided to step back, giving Luna some space.

Then, she changed the subject of the conversation again, asking about Davi’s qualities. Luna answered with more enthusiasm, as she genuinely enjoyed talking about the boy.

Little by little, she became more comfortable around Alexia, just as the girl had wanted.

As soon as the tardy Davi arrived at the meeting point, he was caught off guard by Alexia, who quickly approached and hugged him. She then lightly kissed his neck and whispered in his ear:

"How was your day, master?" she said unnecessarily loudly, drawing the attention of several people around them.

Almost immediately, rumors began to spread.

"Don’t call me that in public," the boy tried to complain in a whisper.

"Understood, I won’t call you ’master’ in public," she replied, again in a voice loud enough for everyone to hear.

Seeing Davi worried about the rumors spreading, she smiled mischievously. Without a doubt, she was enjoying the situation.

Soon after, Luna also approached with a slight smile. She truly didn’t feel the slightest bit of jealousy, in fact, she even found it amusing to watch. The way Davi got embarrassed because it was happening in public was entertaining.

"I also want to know, how was your first day of class?" she finally asked.

"To be honest, it wasn’t anything special," he said, scratching his head as he recalled what had happened. "First, I had a class on monster biology, which was interesting. After that..."

The boy took the lead, guiding the way while recounting what he remembered from the day. The two girls followed closely behind, and soon it was Luna’s turn to share how her day had gone. More specifically, she spent the rest of the walk explaining the new research she was about to start.

Of course, neither Davi nor Alexia understood half of what she said. But since she seemed to be having so much fun talking about it, neither of them even tried to change the subject.

When they arrived at their destination, they were greeted by a beautiful Ember, dressed in slightly more casual clothes. Right behind her was Lara, with her typical smile.

As soon as they entered the place, Luna offered to cook. Alexia soon offered to help, leaving only Lara, Ember, and Davi waiting in the living room.

The three of them sat at a table, and for a few moments, the atmosphere became uncomfortable. No one seemed to want to start the conversation or even know where to begin.

The first one to break the awkward silence was the redhead. After a long sigh, she asked indirectly:

"About that thing..." she spoke slowly, searching for the right words to phrase her sentence. "Uh... do you think I could tell Lara? I trust her a lot, so you don’t need to worry."

The girl whose name was mentioned thought about offering to leave the room to give them privacy but ultimately decided against it. Unsure of what to say, she simply sat quietly, observing everything.

"Don’t worry, she already knows," Davi commented, completely forgetting that he hadn’t actually told her about the harem.

The redhead was surprised to hear this but sighed in relief. She had wanted to tell her friend about becoming Davi’s sword for a long time. After all, she always told Lara everything.

In fact, she had even considered inviting her friend to join the harem. However, she quickly dismissed the idea, knowing that her friend didn’t deal well with men.

Still, she didn’t say anything about it because she wasn’t sure if Davi would allow her to reveal his class. She definitely had a lot to discuss with her friend later, but at that moment, there was something she needed to say first:

"I don’t want Ana in the harem anymore." Her voice came out almost like a wild growl, making her resentment clear.

Davi immediately agreed with a shrug, which surprised Ember a little. She had expected him to take her side, so she thought she would at least have to convince him and prove how untrustworthy that girl was.

Maybe he loved her so much that he was willing to give her veto power within the harem? The answer was no. If anyone were to have that position, it would undoubtedly be Luna.

"I know she’s far from the most trustworthy person in the world," he began to explain. "Besides, I want to use her to test how long it takes for relationship level 1 to drop to 0."

With Luna, he had already discovered that the higher the relationship level reached, the faster it decreased. Thanks to that, he had learned that level 7 lasted for 5 days, while level 6 lasted for 8 days. Of course, since he wouldn’t want to reach 0 with Luna, Ana was the best option for this experiment.

"Harem? What do you mean? And what is this relationship level?"

Finally, Lara couldn’t stay quiet anymore.

For a moment, the redhead and the boy looked at each other, unsure of how to react to that question. Then Ember finally asked:

"You didn’t tell her?"

Meanwhile, Davi tried to remember exactly when he had explained everything to Lara. And soon, he realized that he never had.

So why did she kiss him back then?

The boy had assumed that things with Lara had followed the same path as with Ember, but that wasn’t the case. Their kiss had simply been the result of the girl needing it to activate her own ability... And because she wanted to.

After a few long seconds of somewhat uncomfortable silence, Davi finally began to explain everything. And if it weren’t for the serious expressions on the faces of the other two, Lara would have sworn the man was making up a ridiculous story.

"So, would you like to join my harem?" Davi finally ended his explanation with that question.

Lara thought for a few moments, then glanced at Ember, worried that her friend might get upset if she answered positively. However, to her surprise, Ember seemed excited with the idea.

"If I can..." Lara replied hesitantly.

"Welcome aboard!" Ember said, jumping up slightly to hug her friend. "I didn’t know you were that close to him."

As the misunderstandings were cleared up, the two felt free to talk about their feelings. All the things they had wanted to say but had kept to themselves finally began to spill out.

"You’re really going to create a harem, huh? As expected of my master."

Davi was startled when he suddenly noticed a woman with a mischievous smile standing behind him. Hidden behind her back was Luna, carrying the snacks they had prepared.

Ember and Lara were also surprised and, like Davi, seemed apprehensive, unsure of what to say in that situation.

"It’s fine, I already know about your class," Alexia said with a sensual smile. "Harem King, would you accept me as one of your servants?"

Seeming a little surprised, Davi exchanged a glance with Luna, then finally accepted the girl as the fourth member of his harem, which was growing at an astonishingly rapid pace.

Ember thought about protesting, but since Alexia made sure she would be at the bottom of the hierarchy, the redhead felt somewhat safe. Meanwhile, Lara was simply happy that she could be with the man she loved while keeping her friendship, so anything was fine.
