Chapter 37: First day

Immediately after the tournament ended, Davi had to fill out some forms and answer a few questions. The instructor conducting the process quickly reviewed everything, and with that, he was officially a student.

Since they would already have their first classes the next day, the man said Davi could stop by his office to pick up his student ID.

Additionally, like all new students, he would have four mandatory classes: practical exploration of rifts; basic combat principles; first aid; and advanced studies on classes. To complete his schedule, he could choose one or two additional courses that interested him.

Enki allowed people to specialize in combat and exploration. But it also offered other opportunities, such as magical engineering, studying monster biology, and more.

Davi, who had no time to waste, chose his final subject as soon as he got home: Monster Biology 1. It was a topic that interested him, and Luna had also recommended it, saying that Elize, the professor who taught the class, was very kind and willing to help students.

The boy also wanted to check the list of those accepted into the S-class, but he discovered that this information was not available on the academy’s website. According to Luna, they often kept such things secret.

After taking care of the annoying bureaucracy, the two friends finally found a moment of peace. So they went back to Luna’s house, and as soon as he got there, Davi sat on the sofa, feeling a bit exhausted.

"You don’t need to stay here, you can go work on your things, I will get up soon, and make something for us to eat," Dai offered, wanting to be useful.

However, before the two could leave, Davi was called by a voice that sounded familiar. When he turned around, he saw an expressionless yet strikingly beautiful face. The girl had an intense gaze and stunning red hair.

The boy struggled for a moment, trying to remember where he had seen that beautiful redhead in a maid’s outfit... She was Amelia’s secretary, or something like that? He finally remembered, her name was Morrigan, she was the one who went to give his team the prize, after they defeated the first golem.

"Good morning, do you need something?" he replied politely to her call.

"Yes, I’d like to speak with you alone," she said, briefly glancing at Luna.

The girl, who hated talking to strangers, was already hiding behind Davi. She simply nodded, allowing Morrigana to take the man away. Davi gently ruffled her hair, told her they would meet in the F-rank room, and then followed the redhead..

But how had things ended up like this?

"His future wife, why?" Sophia replied with a confident tone, glaring angrily at the boy, who didn’t confirm her words.

Lara watched the situation with a tightness in her chest, unsure of what to say. That said, her eyes carried suspicion and judgment as she stared at the center of it all: Davi.

The boy, for his part, was at a loss for what to do. If there hadn’t been an audience, he could have resolved the situation more easily.
