Rise of the Harem King -
Chapter 30: Beauty sleep
Chapter 30: Beauty sleep
Luis always laid down in the finest of beds. A good sleep was essential for his physical, mental, and emotional health, regenerating his body and energies.
That’s why he always needed to create the perfect environment.
A music box that he had brought with him filled the room with the pleasant sound of its melody.
He also had a magical device that kept the temperature in his room at the ideal level to ensure nothing disturbed his sleep.
And anyone who dared wake him before noon would be severely punished.
But that day, he was awakened by a sound so loud it seemed like the explosion of a bomb.
The walls trembled, and the fierce waves of air shattered the glass, causing the cold from outside to rush in aggressively.
The cause of this could be traced back to events that had taken place five minutes earlier...
Aden was running through the dark plain, and despite his heavy breathing, he seemed confident in what he was doing. He was even smiling, though his eyes betrayed a certain madness.
"Hahaha! How I love this plan! I love this plan!" He shouted, trying to convince himself. "Only the great Aden, the human shield, could pull this off!"
Right behind the boy, who had spent the morning running for his life, was an enraged monster that made the ground shake with each step.
The creature had thick, scaly skin that gleamed under the sunlight, eyes red as embers burning with blind fury. Its roar cut through the air, echoing like distant thunder.
Meanwhile, Aden was running what looked like a small, calm marathon, maintaining a steady pace. It almost seemed like his morning jog in the park.
And it was thanks to this that he kept the creature at a reasonable distance. After all, his goal wasn’t just to flee; he wanted to lead the monster to the right place.
Luckily, soon enough, his target appeared on the horizon.
It was a massive castle, far more luxurious than the one where the trio had slept. A pang of envy hit the boy as he gazed at it.
Aden continued his straight path toward the castle, fully aware that the monster was gaining on him, its fury increasing with each passing second. As the stone wall loomed closer and closer, he kept his course.
Instead of veering off at the last second or trying to avoid it, the boy confidently collided head first with the stone wall. Right behind him, a far more powerful strike came from the creature.
The monster, intent on striking him, smashed into the massive wall with an enormous force, creating a thunderous crash that echoed through the air, leaving a persistent ringing in the ears of some who heard it.
Cracks spread across the castle’s outer walls, and stones rained down all around. The creature itself was buried by the rubble, trapped beneath the weight of the wall.
But the monster’s fury only grew, and it didn’t take long for it to break free from the debris, even angrier than before.
Naturally, many people, upon seeing the beast, fled in sheer panic. Others braced themselves for battle, knowing that this monster’s power should not be underestimated.
The worst part was that just hours earlier, a large number of people had left on an offensive mission, leaving the main castle unprepared and under defended.
And of course, none of this was happening by chance.
Following his plan, Aden continued to provoke the beast, drawing it deeper and deeper into Luis’s territory. With each strike from the monster, it ventured further in, and Aden knew that this distraction was likely the perfect opportunity to strike.

Davi, who observed everything through the drone, was surprised by his ally’s impeccable work. Still, they knew they didn’t have much time, so they advanced silently, taking advantage of the confusion caused.
Their destination could not be any other: Luis’s room. If they could get to him, maybe they would finally be free from all their problems. The plan was simple: infiltrate in secret and defeat the blonde once and for all.
Moving quickly, the duo neutralized any obstacle that appeared in their path. Furthermore, the fact that everyone was fighting the monster made the journey easier.
They then descended through the castle corridors until they reached what appeared to be the dungeon. Fortunately, Aden knew that the room where the blonde man slept was at the deepest part of the castle. It was a logical choice, as it provided a safe refuge, far from attacks.
After descending several staircases and defeating some golems guarding the way, the duo finally reached their destination.
However, they weren’t fast enough, and as they entered the room, they realized that their enemies were already waiting for them. Luis was sitting in a chair that resembled a throne. Beside him were two warriors.
On the right was an imposing man, whose armor completely concealed his face and body, exuding a threatening presence.
On the left was a swordswoman known for her determination and sense of duty. Alexia was ready to do whatever it took to protect her master.
It was no surprise to find opposition. The truth was that Davi had expected that his plan might not be a complete success. It was natural that Luis always had some people nearby to protect him.
Then Lara activated her transformation into a beast and quickly landed a punch on the armored man. The impact sent him flying, crashing into the wall.
Alexia immediately drew her sword and tried to strike the girl, who quickly dodged the blow and then landed a powerful kick to her opponent’s stomach.
She then tried to move forward to strike the blonde man in front of her, but Alexia was already back and ready to confront her. The armored man also didn’t take long to return to the fight.
In the end, even in a two-against-one, Lara was somehow managing to pressure both of her enemies.
Seeing this, Luis sighed in slight disappointment but accepted the reality, and with a voice full of desire, he said:
"Truly, she is an incredible woman. I suppose I have no choice but to intervene." His eyes glowed for a moment, and the course of the battle changed.
Alexia advanced with a speed much greater than before, catching Lara by surprise. The girl barely managed to dodge, but her thigh was cut. And from her blind spot, the armored man charged, ready to deliver the final blow.
It was at that moment that a torrent of fire stopped the opponent, as Davi advanced to join the battle. He used healing magic on Lara and quickly turned to exchange blows with Alexia, wielding a sword he had stolen while sneaking through the castle.
Lara wasn’t going to stay still either, and she swiftly advanced against the other opponent. And so, the two battles separated.
Davi launched himself at Alexia with determination, sword in hand, trying to stay focused on each movement. Alexia, however, was fast and precise, easily dodging every strike and responding with lightning-fast counterattacks.
It was clear that, in terms of skill, the two were evenly matched. No, in fact, Alexia was a bit better. However, there was one difference that made the gap between them insurmountable: the girl was more powerful than he was.
With each strike, Davi was forced to take one or two steps back, and it became increasingly difficult to keep up with the woman’s blows.
Soon, Davi began to pant, realizing that, no matter how hard he tried, he simply stood no chance against her. Each of Alexia’s attacks felt like a calculated dance, pressuring him as if she were guiding him to the limit of his strength.
Still, if he could hold out long enough, Lara would likely defeat her opponent. So when it became two against one, there might be a chance to win...
His thoughts were cut off in an instant as the girl finally used one of her abilities. Her blade sliced through the air perfectly, and then the shockwave surged forward furiously, cutting the boy’s rear end, who thought he had escaped the blow.
That was Alexia’s <air slash>. A powerful and invisible strike.
Davi didn’t even have time to recover from the pain and the blood loss before the girl advanced to strike him again. He barely managed to defend against the first blow, and the second one grazed his left arm.
His legs were losing strength, and it became clear that he had no chance against that woman.
Against Rowan, Davi had managed to pressure a much stronger opponent. But in that case, the man had a clear weakness: close combat. Which, in turn, was Davi’s specialty.
However, this time he was facing someone even more skilled in martial arts than him, someone who seemed to have no apparent weaknesses, and, above all, was more powerful than he was.
There was no way he could win. Worse than that, he couldn’t even last another minute fighting that woman if things continued like this.
