Rise of the Harem King -
Chapter 101: What’s going on here?
Chapter 101: What’s going on here?
Amanda had practically lost control over ’her’ troops; however, she still tried to vociferate angrily to give orders.
But before the situation could escalate, both she and Sophia fell silent, noticing a brilliant sphere appear in the center of that empty hall.
And it didn’t take even an instant for both of them to recognize who was responsible for that strange phenomenon.
In a blinding flash, Amelia appeared out of nowhere, and naturally, all eyes were directed at her.
The air vibrated around her, as the remnants of her violent mana trembled around, creating a terrifying scene.
The woman was covered in wounds and blood, both hers and her enemies’. Her left arm was so injured that she couldn’t even move it, and there wasn’t a single part of her body that didn’t have some open wound.
Still, she stood like a war goddess fresh from the battlefield. Her chest rose and fell with heavy breaths, but her eyes were living flames, burning with the fury of someone who had defied the impossible and won.
And with a snap of her fingers, she brought with her the proof of her impressive victory.
A light shone softly, then an object appeared in the hall and fell to the ground, hitting with a dull thud.
Everyone gasped, seeing that there lay the colossal head of a beast, reminiscent of a dragon, with three huge, imposing horns.
Its size alone was enough to intimidate anyone. That thing was the height of an elephant. And if the head was that size, the onlookers could hardly imagine how colossal the complete body of that demon was.
That being said, that imposing creature now lay before their eyes, destroyed. Its eyes had been torn out, and half of its face was charred during the fierce battle between the two.
In particular, Amanda, who knew the real identity of that monster, couldn’t contain her shock.
She actually managed to defeat that? she thought. Even though she literally saw the corpse before her eyes, the blonde woman still couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
Her eyes widened, and her mouth opened unconsciously. She felt her heart race, and a certain dread took over her entire body.
It was over, all her plans were over, after all, it was impossible to face the monster before her.
Amanda fell into despair; in her eyes, Amelia was an even more frightening and imposing beast than any monster she had ever faced in the rift.
At the same time, Amelia quickly noticed that something seemed wrong. Normally, that place should have been full of people, and besides, there was clearly some tension between the two blonde women talking.
But the woman’s mind was so tired after the battle she had been through that she wasn’t even able to recognize Davi or Morrigan were there.
At the very least, she recognized Amanda’s presence, which was very convenient for her at that moment.
With slow steps, the woman approached the proud star of the Belforts, then looked her up and down.
Her clothes were perfectly clean, and she wasn’t even carrying a weapon, which meant she hadn’t been in any battles recently.
Perfect, Amelia thought with her mind still a bit weary.
"Heal me," despite her weakness and her body covered in wounds, her words sounded like an irrefutable order.
And acting practically on instinct, Amanda obeyed. Her beautiful blue eyes glowed for an instant, then a soft aura enveloped the woman before her.
However, what was just a soft light shone more intensely. Then, more and more mana gathered around Amelia.
After a few moments, Amanda’s gaze weakened, and she even coughed up blood. That was one of the consequences of exhausting her mana reserves quickly.
"Huu...Huuu...Hu..." the blonde breathed deeply, trying to catch her breath after her mana had finally stopped being used.
The reason for this was that she made the mistake of using the <Revitalization> skill, which automatically healed all the target’s wounds, as well as recovering 50% of their vitality and strength.
In this case, the skill wasn’t able to fulfill its function completely, simply because Amanda didn’t have enough mana to heal Amelia fully.
Not only was recovering the woman’s strength already exhausting, but her whole body was covered in wounds, many of them made by magical attacks, which made everything more complicated.
"Damn it, I should have warned her..." Amelia murmured to herself and held the blonde’s body before she fell to her knees on the ground.
Then she looked around, and her eyes rested on one of the guards. She was still too tired to think carefully, but that man was wearing more powerful armor than the others, so she assumed he was the leader.
"You," she said, facing that man, "take her to the infirmary so she can rest."
The policeman hesitated for a few moments but finally complied with the order. He didn’t have the courage to defy Amelia.
Besides, the Amanda’s condition looked really bad, and he couldn’t even imagine what kind of punishment he would receive if he let her die because he didn’t want to take her to the infirmary.
After dealing with all that, Amelia brought her fingertips to her temple. A terrible headache still afflicted her, which made her expression twist into a grimace.
"Could I still be suffering from some of the negative effects he used on me..." the woman thought.
Her head felt like it was about to explode, but she managed to stay standing and took a deep breath, trying to calm the throbbing pain.
"That damn monster..." she murmured, staring at the enormous head she had dropped on the ground.
A terrifyingly sadistic smile spread across the girl’s lips as she gazed at the proof that she had murdered her enemy.
It was a difficult fight, and she thought she would die dozens of times. Just escaping with her life should have been a miracle against that beast, but she went far beyond that.
Of course, this was only possible because Amelia was a completely abnormal monster. Her talent and dedication were too abnormal to be compared with almost any other human alive in that era.
And while Amelia lost herself in thought, everyone watched her in silence. Partly because of the shock of seeing what she had brought with her.
Despite being dead, and even though it was just its severed head, that beast still managed to emit a terrifying aura. And it was hard not to admire its imposing size.
Moreover, even though they knew Amelia was the most powerful explorer in Enki, it was hard not to be impressed.
After all, seeing before them the irrefutable proof of all that power had a much greater impact than the simple title of the strongest explorer in Enki.
Okay, enough with the whining... Amelia thought, then clenched her fists tightly, forcing herself to forget the pain she felt.
And finally, her eyes calmly analyzed her surroundings properly.
Her gaze met that of her red-haired secretary, who looked like she was about to cry, which made her smile gently. Morrigan had probably worried incessantly about her in recent weeks.
"I said I’d be back, didn’t I," she remarked to her friend with a light tone. "You should trust your master more, I’m very strong, you know?"
"Yes," Morrigan agreed in a solemn tone, bowing slightly. Then she lifted her gaze and looked at her master with a big smile. "I’m happy to see you well."
Amelia nodded slightly, smiling, it was good to be reunited with her loyal companion. But she didn’t spend long thinking about that, as her gaze continued to scan the world around her. She finally realized that the commotion unfolding there was probably bigger than she had imagined.
The students had terrified faces as they stared at the guards who were supposed to protect them.
Moreover, many of them had their clothes torn or dirty. It was possible to see wounds, some very serious. For example, she noticed that one poor boy had lost an arm.
And, as would be expected, everything that involved something interesting had that boy’s participation... Amelia smiled animatedly upon seeing Davi.
However, even after their eyes met, she didn’t go to greet him, after all, there was something more important that demanded her attention.
Her cold gaze turned to the guards, who for some reason had surrounded her students. As anger filled her eyes, her mana danced aggressively, causing everyone there to feel intimidated.
"Why are there so many guards here? And why do the students you’re supposed to protect look intimidated?"
Amelia took a single step forward, approaching the guards, but that was already enough for all of them to feel their muscles tense up.
Luckily for them, their faces were hidden behind metal, because if that weren’t the case, everyone could see the terror painted in their eyes.
"Can someone explain to me what’s going on here?" She asked her final question with such an authoritative tone that there was no room for disagreement.
