Chapter 31: The Third Skill

Liam focused as he waited for his third skill. He hoped it would be something that would significantly increase his power.

The sky had cleared now, and he couldn’t help but walk to the window at the back of the classroom, gazing out at the wide complex behind it.

Aside from the flooding and minor damage, the complex looked relatively intact.

The zombies wandering around almost seemed like ordinary residents going about their day when seen from a distance.

"Liam!" Suddenly, he heard Melly’s soft voice behind him.

He turned to look and found no one else in the room. Alice and Lisa had already left the classroom.

"What is it?" Liam asked, feeling a bit odd because the woman had an unusual expression on her face, and the top button of her shirt was undone, revealing the cleavage beneath.

She had even brushed her hair aside to expose one side of her neck.

As he stared at her, she casually walked to his side and sat on the windowsill.

She crossed her legs as she sat down.

"Do you think I’m pretty or not?" she asked with a slight smile, brushing aside her bangs to reveal her face more clearly.

Liam frowned at the question.

"Don’t tell me you asked Anthony that and that’s why he dared to harass you?" Liam replied.

"What? That damn skinny guy..." The woman suddenly looked disgusted as she said Anthony’s name.

She seemed to realize she’d reacted too strongly and quickly corrected her expression, smiling again.

"I actually think you’re really handsome. There aren’t many as good-looking as you in this school. I just wanted to know how you see me. Do you think I’m pleasant to look at?"

As she said that last sentence, she tilted her head slightly and pushed her chest forward. It seemed like a pose she often used for taking pictures.

With her slightly curly reddish hair, fair skin, and oval face with dimples that always appeared when she smiled, it was hard to find flaws in her tall, slender figure.

Liam frowned deeper, struggling to find the words to respond.

Of course, he wasn’t so naïve as to not realize she was trying to seduce him.

Hadn’t she come close to him just to avoid being harassed by guys like Anthony, knowing that she would be safe as long as she stayed by his side?

But seducing him like this—it wasn’t much different from inviting the very harassment she’d feared.

Or maybe she just didn’t care, as long as the guy was good-looking.

As he remained silent, the woman stood up, now directly in front of him and very close, smiling as if to tempt him.

"Are you trying to get free food with this?" Liam asked.

"Yes. And more attention from you," she said casually, her hand moving to his shoulder before wrapping around his neck.

Her skin was smooth and soft, sending a ticklish sensation to Liam’s neck.

She was bolder than he expected in her attempt to seduce him.

"Why don’t you try this with Anthony instead? He’d give you his full attention if you treated him like this," Liam said, changing Melly’s expression once more.

"Oh, come on. Don’t think I’m a woman with no taste. I can only enjoy doing this with a handsome guy like you. If it were Anthony, I’d go insane," she said.

She leaned in even closer as she spoke, their bodies now touching and their faces so close Liam could feel her soft, fragrant breath.

"Just give me decent food and help me get stronger, and I’ll give you everything. This is way easier—if the world hadn’t ended, I’d demand a car and a luxury apartment from any man who wanted me," she added.

As she said that, she lifted one of her thighs into Liam’s hand, causing him to touch it unintentionally.

Once he touched it, he couldn’t help but caress it.

He was a completely normal man. Though he often appeared calm, that didn’t mean his thoughts were not stirred.

As one hand caressed her thigh, his other began to wrap around her waist, pressing her with his fingers.

"Liam, Melly!" Suddenly, Lisa’s voice echoed from the doorway, causing Melly to jump back in surprise.

Liam turned to see Lisa standing in the doorway, eyes wide.

And she wasn’t alone. Behind her stood a skinny man with glasses—Anthony.

Liam couldn’t help but feel surprised to see him here, wondering why he had come back again.

Of course, the man himself looked even more shocked than Lisa.

The woman he had wanted to touch was now acting like this with another man—without resistance, even looking like she was enjoying it.

Liam remained calm as if nothing was wrong. He approached Lisa and asked, "What is it?"

Meanwhile, Melly acted nonchalant.

She sat on a desk with her legs crossed, pulling out her phone, which was still on but had no signal.

Lisa kept staring at Melly until Liam asked her again.

Thankfully, she quickly regained her composure and replied, "Anthony said he wants to buy a plate of food from you."

"Ohhh..." Liam gave a strange look upon hearing that.

It seemed the guy couldn’t resist trying the food. Maybe Joel had made him jealous by eating it deliciously in front of him.

"50 System Points," Liam said to him.

"I’ll pay. Just hurry and give it to me," Anthony replied irritably.

Liam got the notification right after Anthony responded.

The food was still on the table and even still warm—he hadn’t frozen it yet.

He picked one up and handed it over.

Anthony took the food and left quickly, his expression still annoyed, while Lisa glanced at Melly again.

But she only shook her head and walked off without saying anything.

Now that they were alone again, Melly slipped her phone back into her pocket and smiled at Liam.

"Do you want to continue?" she asked casually, walking toward him again.

DING!

Liam suddenly received a notification just before Melly reached him.

And Melly stopped walking—she had gotten the same notification.

"It’s finally here," the woman said excitedly.

Liam couldn’t be bothered to look at her now. He just stared at his System, waiting for the 60 seconds to pass.

With one experience behind him, Liam no longer felt anxious waiting.

The time even felt short, and finally, the 60 seconds were up.
