Chapter 144: Seize The Opportunity [1]

Chapter 144: Seize The Opportunity [1]

With every kind of series, there’s always one character or many that steal the spotlight that was supposed to be for the main character. They can be the overpowered rival, the unstoppable villain, or maybe even a band of side characters hiding their identity. For someone that follows Morris nim, I arrived at a situation where im being flocked by dozens of important side characters to boot

"There are too many monsters!!"

"Fuck, fuck, fuck were out of potions," Amidst the destruction of the walls that protected them from the outside world the players met a grim faith. Monsters that come in all shapes and sizes would appear in every corner of the map, with only their wits and a few talents on their side they were able to make it this far. But faith wasn’t merciful for the players when they found themselves standing on the frontlines of the battlefield

"Is this how we’re gonna die!!?" They panicked in the ruins that were keeping them from being consumed by their foe after their numbers had drastically reduced to a mere hundred. Whilst their adversaries would keep on increasing as long as the hole that they use to enter was sealed, their numbers will never fall no matter what the problem may have been

[System: Due to the explosion created by the targeted player to be terminated, the conquered land has now been breached. Which created a subquest called [Defenders] if the players want to maintain their land they must fight the monster that wishes to take advantage of their situation. The players that were near the breach have now been given a temporary mission. You can’t leave the area until you finish this mission or die trying]

The remaining players were scared upon seeing hundreds of thousands of monsters near their borderline of defense. Hope was just a mere word within their situation the few that we’re scared of a crueler took upon their own hands the decide their deaths. Hope that word would come to be known as the arrival of the few people that stand behind the gates of hell itself. A band of players masked by their equipment and followed by a few players behind their back

[System: The player Quon has activated an augmented skill Wave, the player has decreased the damage and increased the amount of water to be created]

A huge towering wave arrived at the side of the players big enough to push the overwhelming numbers of their enemy. That was followed by a round of ammunition that clouded the growls of the monster that were killed with a single shot. Stopping the advancement with only two movements to be seen on their side, they found themselves seeing a familiar face that was known for their incredible feat

"It’s the Persevis cult and Enigma?" With their arrival on the battlefield comes a fleet that grew their numbers that came close to a thousand players. A few players were known to be affiliated with Spell thief, and the cult that was said to even topple the numbers and the production of the top guild if they were combined altogether. Arrive in the nick of time before any kinds of casualties were to befall the rest of the remaining players

"It’s a good thing that we’ve arrived in time," Hyunsu dispatched the cult members throughout the entirety of the map before he was approached by his team

"That was pretty intense I can’t feel my body anymore," Yuuko was given a bottle of mana recovery potion after she can back from the frontlines where she connected the flow of her shock to the water quon has procured

"I thought we would’ve been sent to the area where senior spell was located, tell me what’s the reason as to why we’re here? I think it’s counterproductive to be in a place where it’s not even something that has any value," Grey started while the others didn’t take his side and remained to be silent till the others were to arrive at their location

[Fifth Recruit Of Enigma: Quon

Alias: Battlemage

Traits: Tactical, Manipulative, Intelligent

Gender: Female

Race: Gremphis/Outsider

Class: Mage

Weaponry: Staff]

"This should be important I don’t know why I was told to be dispatched to this location, I don’t have any complaints about my situation. But parents you forget that my master is currently being targeted, even though you already have this under control. You even go so far as to waste my time," Quon would mimic his personality, views, and ideals along with her incredible talent in magic. Even though her status remains as a slave her feat and judgment, Kyo min soo was trained to develop his wits. She, on the other hand, personally volunteered to learn the arts of magic

[Fourth Recruit Of Enigma: Blake Belfast

Alias: Miracle worker

Traits: Neutral, Forgiving, Kind

Gender: male

Race: Human/Outsider

Class: Alchemist

Weaponry: Knife]

"Settle down little Quon, sorry about that everyone I’m a little late to introduce my identity to all of you that are present. I’m Blake Belfast, I was the one that was personally sent by Mr. Jin to continue the plan they formulated in such a short amount of time. You cannot go back to your seats I’ll show you our problems that are currently being contained," All of them relaxed before his presentation would commence, the room was filled with readers and a few faces. When everyone was present he opened a magical artifact. That contains a recorded message that was sent to him by his leader in hopes of revealing their current situation

[If you guys are hearing this then the two of us have settled down to the area near the bottomless circle connected to an underground tunnel. A shit ton of players are within our vicinity, Blake if you’re hearing this then grab a few of our members and meet with Hyunsu. We need you guys to put preserve the subquest, if you kill all of them at once it’ll be over which will break our plan. Make sure you listen carefully, arrive in the area, and make the others hear of this message, we’re going to control the flow of the subquest]

’Control the subquest? How’s that even possible to occur in the world of trials!? This place is pretty much a mystery of its own, it seems that he knows something that a lot of us are unable to figure out. Wait... Does he want to use this little quest as a means of lowering the players that are in pursuit of the player?’

Zeke was able to learn more about the plans before it was eventually revealed to the others

[Normally a subquest isn’t that important to become such a threat to the trials, however, that doesn’t mean that we don’t have any kind of advantage. Before I left in pursuit of hunting down the Bounty Hunter, I gave a few flasks that contain a stabilized version of the monster evo potion. Along with producing a few samples of my very own potion that I’ve made along the way, it’s a neutralizer for the potion. But that’ll be for another time of use, I requested Blake to procure a ton of stimulant potions, spread the evo potion, and mutate the monsters. The remaining messages will be triggered after Blake has permitted to continue the message, good luck out there]

"That’s absurd he wants us to increase the number of deaths to the players by mutating the monsters? No, I oppose this sort of idea, I can’t allow it to occur im the second in command of the cult stationed in this biome. I don’t permit this plan to occur, there has to be another way," Sei Yeoung opposed the plan after she heard of the contents within, the only way to gain both of their plans needs them to sacrifice their own. Even though a few of them wishes not to partake in this kind of plan the majority wins by default

[System: Voting has now been decided the votes cast by the players within the cult and the ones within this very room have been placed. Those that oppose have 348 votes, while the ones that voted to continue with their plan have 452 votes. The plan will continue as it is, the losing side is not permitted to oppose the winner of the voting]

She fell into despair after she wasn’t able to change the minds of the people that desired to go along with the plan given by her superiors. Unable to accept her defeat she was given a word of advice to someone that wasn’t even a player before the system permitted his race to grow

"I know what it feels to be helpless and unable to do something about your current situation, you try to run and hide from your worries. It’s very easy to fall and hard to climb back to the place you once aimlessly wandered off. Death isn’t something that you’ll control, players, can instantly be replaced by another invited individual outside of the world of trials. As long as the deaths of those around you aren’t wasted, then their lives aren’t meaningless," Gaust comforted her without making her feel guilty about her shortcomings, death wasn’t something that a person can control. They could only cheat death and prepare for the worst to come, yet their situation will need a few sacrifices on their end
