Chapter 143: Eliminate The Competition [2]
After he mobilizes his troops he found himself running away from his current location that was being pursued by a monster like a player. The grey-colored scale would consume one of the courses he thought was snuffed out of their lives, only to find a surprise that made his situation even harder for him to manage
[System: In order to survive the opposing player, has been subjected to the use of a serum that gave its monster-like appearance]
The masked player he deemed to be worthless and downright useless after knowing full well of their fate. He didn’t think that one of them would possess such a skill as a regenerative skill comparable or even better if compared to his main character. Slithering through the ruins and using it as a means to launch its body it aimed at Morris’s location, giving him a fight with a fast-paced battle. Both sides would strike one another in hopes of ending the other one’s life, a blade that was opposed by mutated nails that turned into razor-sharp claws
"Interchangeable Cromwell arts, Pointed repulse," Instead of prolonging their tiresome exchanges of swings he changed his sword to a shield. Which was imbued with his mana that rams its opponent with the force that sends it flying to the ruins near his location. With their distance from one another, he paused to regain his stamina along with his opponent having the same idea
"To think that someone that calls himself a knight would use such tricks to defeat his opponent. You’re nothing but a coward that hides behind the armor you wear, I may have suffered from the trap you utilized. It won’t be long before you’ll be outnumbered after they picked my vitals?" He was shocked after he was able to feel any kind of connection with his teammates, which made him look at the location of his opponent. Before he sees that the tattooed magical circle within his body has been broken without his knowledge
"A Knight that stands for justice must also learn how to dive into the deepest and darkest things made by man. I’m not a fool that thinks I could make a difference with just my sword and my pure-heartedness toward the people. If I truly wish to change this world I must first learn how to survive, I didn’t take the risk of one of you having a life preservation item. And I was right in believing that this is the right thing to do, killing you in this area would only prove to show my sense of justice,"
Silence engulfed their surroundings after he said those words and the mind of his injured opponent with fear. Before he knew it his body came to have been poisoned by some sort of toxic chemical that he wasn’t able to discern
[System: You’ve been afflicted with a powerful dosage of poison, your body is unable to move by the shock your body has received. Your health is slowly reaching its end. You’re unable to drink any counter ailment items in time, your body is currently being influenced by the poison]
"You monster! What have you done to my body!!? Arrgh my body it hurts so much!!!!" Odorless and fatal anyone could’ve died if they haven’t trained their poison resistance, along with his body deteriorating, without any hopes of escape. He found himself to be frightened by the one standing before him, he doesn’t see a person hiding behind the suit of armor
[System: Recording has been paused for a short moment]
"Monster? Hahahahaahhaha, don’t you see im a human just like you! Someone that has been pushed to its breaking point," Morris grabbed him in the neck with his powerful grip and pull his victim to his eyes reach. Within the helmet that covered his face, his eyes would gain a blue glow with the anger that was making him desire to slaughter him between his grip. Yet he smiled for a moment after he was able to change his mood for the better
"What does define a monster? Is it their distinct figure? Their language that only they possess, or is there anything that differentiates a human being from a monster at all? Both of us live, we breed starve as well and we perish, to me, there’s no difference, monsters are only a term you use once you’re frightened by a certain characteristic. You’re scared of what they can do, but im still a person no matter how many people I’ve killed, no matter if it isn’t justifiable, im just a person that resorted to fighting back,"
It was a monster, a playful one at that, who was toying with his life, he didn’t stand a chance to win, not even once. The cheerful laugh he heard wasn’t making his experience any better, instead of it being a symbol of a protector. It came to be known as the arrival of a demon that reaped his life was followed by crackling noise that came from his broken neck
[System: You’ve killed a player the collected experience will now be given. The kill you’ve committed was accompanied by the player’s bloodlust, your image changed from unfeeling to vengeful]
"That was a lot of fun, I want to kill his teammates, too bad the timing wasn’t right, I need to move on to the next area. I’ve heard that they’re setting up a camp within the entirety of the area. Can you show yourself it’s getting annoying, I can sense your mana there’s no point in hiding," He pointed his attention to the ruins behind his back which appear to be a hiding spot for a certain player. With just a simple feeling that he came to remember every time he would meet his editor
"Kehahahahaha, sorry I just can’t hold myself back, you spouting off some shit about being human, hahaha is completely funny. Don’t tell me Chuuni Morris has finally arrived within the world of trials? Smite thy enemy of mine, unleash the forgotten power within my bloodline," He teased him by saying a few lines he uttered within his past, the things that he remained hidden from the world until it was revealed by his friend
"Stop!!? Don’t make me remember my dark past, it’s already been eating me ever since I’ve begun this new identity of mine. Let me guess you’ve killed the ones that were able to detect his heartbeat? You’re not that good at hiding your intentions,"
"You’ve caught me, I did kill them knowing your current location that is something that I can’t disclose. Nah just kidding I’ve put a ton of tracking chips in every item I have created over the past few months we’re stuck within the trials. It’s a great way to know if one of your items has been stolen or not, so what’s the plan? You got one right?" Jin placed his right arm upon his shoulder and they walked in the opposite direction from where he came from
’What an insensitive jerk, even though you’re not showing it, I can see how much you’ve changed from the time we were separated. I’ll let this one slide since I have to use my stamina at a later date, but damn you really did a number on these players. I could’ve used them to increase my exp but im, not a sore loser, you were the one that caught them first its not fair to say that you stole them,’
That was filled with a ton of corpses of the players he killed, unlike Morris that finishes his kill with a simple attack. He was a little more brutal and kept his insanity from reaching the light of day, most of them were flattened, burned, or even filled with the holes that originated from his spikes. They didn’t have the time to regroup with their teammates, due to his reason being the terrains that were plagued by the invading monsters. A few were able to enter the city after all the connections of the drones have been broken by the energy emitted by his character
[The Forgotten System: The Forgotten Sages avatar has a goal of protecting the player targeted for termination. Whilst the avatar of The Originator Of Weapons desires to steal every material located at the place where the targeted player resides. Making their deities collaborate in hopes of making their avatars achieve their desired results
Requirements: Each player within this collaboration must reach their current destinations once that has been accomplished. The collaboration between the two of you will end after you reached your destination which will take away the experience boost collection
Rewards: It will be given once the mission has been fulfilled
Failure: This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to occur, making the penalties a lot harder for the players. If the player Christopher Morris’s protected target dies he’ll be given an exp reduction that’ll lower his experience gathering. If the player Jin Kurenai is unable to acquire a certain amount of the needed materials he’ll be forced to sell one of his most prized creations to the public]
