Chapter 159: Academy Competition 5: Let’s Have A Good Fight

"BAM!"

Shadow crashed to the ground, coughing smoke. Most of her clothes were incinerated by the flames, yet miraculously, her skin remained unburnt.

"You!" She shakily rose, her eyes locked on Advika. "You." The next moment, she bowed her head. "Thank you for holding back."

The audience gasped, stunned by Shadow’s unexpected deference.

"It’s just a competition, no need to go that far," Advika stated, her gaze piercing Zack with undeniable killing intent.

"Alright! Advika wins this round, earning her team an extra 1,000 points! Both Guardian Academy and Vitality Academy are tied! This has never happened before!" The announcer’s voice boomed through the mic. "Next! Number 5!"

Advika descended the scorched stage, joining Christopher and Mariana. All eyes returned to the stage as Tony stepped forward, followed by a competitor from the fourth county. The two ascended, facing each other with anticipation.

"Start!" the announcer yelled.

"I won’t say this twice, surrender," Tony declared, a bored expression etched on his face.

"You! Do you think I’m not your match?!" the guy roared in fury.

"Yes! You... Are... Not... My... Match," Tony emphasized each word, his tone dripping with indifference.

"Let’s see if you’ll say that after I deal with you!" the guy spat, shooting forward. The moment he was ten feet from Tony, he vanished.

"Oh... How cute," Tony muttered, his gaze sweeping across the stage. "Do you know why, even with Zack’s strength, I am still the strongest in the group?" he asked, his voice calm.

No answer came.

"Because... I have one skill."

"Loss!" The guy reappeared behind Tony, throwing a punch at his head.

"BAM!"

His fist connected with Tony’s head, but it was the attacker who flew backward, smashing heavily to the ground.

"This?!" He grimaced, clutching his head. "Why?! I hit you! Why did I feel the pain?!" he yelled.

Tony tilted his head, as he turned around. "I told you... You are not my opponent," he said with a smirk.

’That kid’s skill is good!’ Tiamat muttered in Christopher’s consciousness.

’What was that skill he used?’ Christopher asked telepathically.

’The skill can direct any pain caused by an attacker back to them... For example, if someone shot him with a gun, the attacker would feel the pain... While he would remain unscathed; even a cut wouldn’t appear on his body,’ she explained.

’Isn’t that reflection?’ Christopher asked with a frown.

’No... This skill has the same structure, but it isn’t Reflection... Reflection skills reflect both the attack and pain back to the attacker, meaning the gunshot would injure the attacker and also kill them,’ she stated.

Christopher nodded in understanding, then asked again, ’Can I defeat him?’

’Of course... Your energy signature is now linked to mine. He can’t reflect the pain, same with that kid who calls himself Zack... He won’t be able to manipulate your life force.’

Christopher nodded, feeling reassured. ’Wait... What if you aren’t here?’

’Then my good disciple, you will have a hard time facing these two,’ Tiamat answered with a smile.

_

"What a good skill," the Commander nodded, adding, "So many talents... What do you say, Governor? Should we recruit them all?"

"These kids are gifted, but do you think they’ll agree?" the Governor asked.

"Of course, why wouldn’t they?" he responded, as if agreement was the only logical choice.

"Commander," Zenith called out, catching his attention. "You are sending them to fight a Sky Stage beast, and an enraged one at that? If you were their parents, what would you do? Would you simply allow your kid or kids to fight such a thing?"

The Commander fell silent for a few moments, lost in thought. "If you put it that way, I wouldn’t agree... But this is for the sake of our continent... Those who aren’t from Cordelia won’t easily agree to protect us from the Sky Stage beast, but we need them against the Half Celestial Stage."

"Yes. I know it’s important, but we also can’t force them. Let’s see how this turns out," the Governor said, as the two nodded in agreement.

_

"I won’t lose!" The guy sprang to his feet and shot forward again, launching a punch straight at Tony’s face, who stood still and waited.

"BAM!"

The punch accurately smashed into Tony’s face, but the guy flew backward, falling heavily to the ground. He clutched his jaw, his face black.

"This?!" The big man Christopher had defeated, now fully coherent, yelled, "Back down! You can’t win against such an opponent!"

The guy gritted his teeth, rising once more. "I won’t stop!" He clenched his fists, channeling all the energy in his body, and lunged forward, unleashing a flurry of punches so fast that afterimages trailed his hands. With each punch he delivered, he felt the pain of the attack, but didn’t slow down, continuing his relentless assault.

"Is that guy mad? His body will shut down from the pain, and his organs might not make it," Mariana exclaimed in shock.

Christopher and Advika turned to her, their faces etched with confusion.

"Tell us, are you really a combat student in the academy?" Advika asked.

"Yes... I said I practiced Medicine for some time," Mariana replied, folding her arms across her chest.

"If someone doesn’t stop him, he will kill himself," she added.

"I think that’s his plan... If he dies, they’ll put the blame on Tony—it’s true, Tony haven’t make a move, but his skills caused the death... He’s planning on dragging the Guardian Academy down," Christopher explained.

Advika and Mariana were stunned, but Christopher continued, "That would work on someone stupid, but on this guy called Tony... It will never work."

"Ahhh!" The guy screamed, delivering his most powerful punch at Tony’s neck.

"BAM!!!"

"....?!"

He was stunned to see his fist caught in Tony’s palm.

"You fool! You think I don’t know your plan?" Tony channeled his life force into his left fist, and with a throw of his hand, his punch connected with the guy’s lower abdomen, sending him flying backward.

Everyone watched as he soared off the stage and smashed heavily to the ground, throwing up a mouthful of blood.

".....?!"

Silence fell over the audience. Everyone was speechless.

Tony dusted his shoulder, his gaze cold. "You should be happy we can’t kill in this competition... That saved your life," he said, turning and walking away.

"Tony! Won this round! Earning his team another 1,000 points, making it 3,000 points! They took the lead again!" the announcer yelled, then added, "Next! Number 6!"

Everyone turned to Stella, the captain of First Star Academy team, and Hank, the big guy on Tony’s team.

"Be careful... Stella’s main advantage is speed," Zack muttered, as Hank nodded, walking towards the stage.

Everyone watched as the two ascended the stage, their expressions flat and indifferent.

"Start!" the announcer yelled.

"I know First Star Academy is strong," Hank finally began. "I won’t ask twice. If you don’t want to be embarrassed, back down."

"What made you think you’ll win?" Stella asked with a sneer. Before anyone knew it, her body flashed, and she multiplied into five.

"....!!!!!"

Everyone was horrified; even Christopher was speechless.

’It seems they are only monsters here... All you kids are monsters,’ Tiamat said in his head, and Christopher nodded in agreement.

Hank stared at the five Stellas before him and frowned.

"You lose!" The five Stellas uttered in unison and shot forward.

"This?!" Hank clenched his fists and lunged towards them, throwing a punch.

"BAM!"

"...huh?"

His punch went through the clone in front of him, but to everyone’s shock, the clone raised its hands and grabbed Hank’s arm, holding him down.

"What the?!" Hank turned, seeing the other four moving towards him, life force condensing around their fists.

"Get out from the hold!" Tori yelled at him, but it was too late. The five appeared before him and simultaneously delivered a punch.

"BOOOOM!!"

".....?!"

"Hahaha!" Hank let out a laugh, while the girls stared down at the point where their fists connected in surprise, seeing Earth.

"Earth element?!" The five leaped backward, creating distance from Hank.

"Hahahaha! Let’s have some fun!" Hank roared with laughter, his body turning into rock.

"What a defense...? Can she win?" Mariana asked.

Christopher stared at Stella for a moment and nodded. "She will win."

"Huh? Why did you say that? You can clearly see her attack didn’t even pass the other party’s defense," Mariana pointed out.

"Defense means nothing in front of strength," Christopher said flatly.

_

Stella scoffed, observing Hank’s defense. "I have killed countless Mythical Stage Beasts that I lost count of... And each one has ten times your defense... Do you think I am scared of you?"

"...?!"

Hank and everyone present watched as the four clones merged back into the main body. Before their eyes, dark life force burst from Stella, her eyes instantly turning black.

"You said it, let’s have a good fight," she said with a smile.

"I had to admit, this will be an interesting battle." The commander said with anticipation, already on the edge of his seat.
