Return Of The Supreme Beast Tamer -
Chapter 149: Let Them Come
Chapter 149: Let Them Come
[Red Zone.]
[On the way to the Hill.]
Advika gazed at Christopher’s back, her mind a whirlwind of questions. "He just bought five companies from the manager... what’s his plan?" Her eyes drifted to the horizon, where the sun was beginning to set.
"Our first training, alone." She murmured.
"What are you murmuring about?" Christopher’s voice cut through her thoughts, his brow furrowed as he stared at her.
"Huh?" Advika snapped her head toward him. "Nothing... well." She lowered her gaze. "I’m a bit nervous."
"Don’t be," he said, "This isn’t your first time communicating with the goddess. Just follow my idea." He turned and tapped Lazarus’s head. "Faster, buddy."
The ice dragon nodded, then shot forward, a blur against the fading light.
_
[Minutes later.]
Lazarus landed with a BAM! atop the hill, and the two cultivators jumped down, landing lightly on their feet.
"...?!"
"...!"
Christopher, Advika, and Lazarus stood dumbfounded, staring at the shattered remains of the house. Not a single wall remained standing.
’What a mess,’ Tiamat mused, floating beside Christopher.
’It can’t be... I used my life force to seal this place, and with my increased strength, only a Sky stage beast should be able to detect it,’ Christopher thought, his gaze rising to the cracked life force barrier above his head.
’It seems more powerful beasts have started to appear,’ Tiamat observed, her eyes settling on Lazarus. ’Your friends must evolve... or they will be a disadvantage to you.’
’You have a point, but how can they evolve? Lazarus and Lucas are stuck at the peak of the Divine stage. I don’t know how.’
’Shh... you have me.’ Tiamat closed her eyes, spreading her life force across the air. ’This will take some time.’
Christopher nodded, then turned to Advika. "It seems a beast visited here."
Advika simply nodded, offering no words.
Christopher rubbed his ring, giving a command: "All of you, come out."
WHOOSH!!!
Countless colorful lights streamed from the ring, taking the forms of 10 flaming lions, 10 devil dogs, 5 skeleton wolves, 2 blood eagles, Lucas, Grim, and finally, Reaper.
"All flying Beasts, spread in all directions and survey the surroundings. Report back to me whatever you find."
Lucas, Lazarus, and the eagles nodded, then shot into the air.
"The rest of you... you will be the lookout." The beasts nodded, moving to different sections of the hill.
"Now, Advika." Christopher turned to the stunned Advika and snapped his fingers.
Advika watched as the space cracked open, and a red egg floated out.
"Before we start... you must enter the Elite level, and also have a new beast," he said, adding, "Call out your beast, it is time to increase your strength."
Of everything he said, Advika only registered "Elite level."
"Hmm... Christopher, I’m still an Intermediate level. How can I jump the whole Expert level?" she asked, a hint of confusion in her voice.
"You have the fire spirit in you... and you have this." He moved the egg toward her. "You must tap the potential of this egg, and also use the goddess’ rampant life force... Not only that, you also have ten breakthrough pills. You must take this opportunity."
Advika stared at the egg hovering before her, then turned her gaze to Christopher. "Why the sudden rush?" she asked.
Christopher turned and looked at the sky, recalling Tiamat’s words from when she woke up in the car.
_____
’Christopher... something is coming. A beast stronger than even the Sky stage beast, is heading to Cordelia... The life force signature is still weak, but I can sense it... You must get stronger! And fast, or everything will be lost!’
Christopher frowned. ’A beast stronger than the Sky stage? I thought you already saw the future--’
’--Shut up!! Something might have gone wrong, it changed the future... Something unknown might have woken up! You must grow stronger!’
____
Christopher vividly remembered her words. He planned to grow stronger before that beast reached the Baltimore continent.
He turned back to Advika.
"Something is coming to Cordelia, and we all must get stronger... we must be prepared."
"What if we aren’t prepared?" Advika asked.
"Then Cordelia will burn."
".....?!"
___
[Unknown Location.]
Dracula turned his head towards the figure, whose eyes snapped open. "Master?" he said, stunned.
"She has awoken," the dark figure stated, then turned to Dracula.
"Speed up the progress... A being stronger than the devil himself has been woken up. I don’t know who did this, but we must get stronger to face this threat."
"Master... Can’t you defeat this new enemy?" Dracula asked, mild confusion in his voice.
The figure rose, its face concealed by darkness. "Defeat? My goal is to rule this world and watch everyone bow at my feet! But her goal? Is to wipe out this galaxy... This planet will be her starting point." The figure’s voice was dark and ominous.
"...?!"
Dracula stood stunned.
______
[Second Biggest Continent, Known as Xavier.]
Atop the tallest mountain in Xavier, a young lady slowly opened her eyes. She moved her silver gaze to the horizon.
’What is this?’
The wind picked up, forming a mini-tornado around her. She slowly rose to her feet.
"I thought darkness was the only threat to this world? How can such a creature exist?" she muttered, her fists clenched.
"I am just a Transcendent upper level... I must grow stronger for this battle."
____
[Third Continent, Known as Alvin.]
Deep within a vibrant forest, a figure sat on the ground, his long green hair flowing in the wind.
Whoosh!
He slowly opened his eyes and turned in the direction of Xavier.
"It seems I am not the only one that felt it," he muttered, then turned his head to a colorful lotus flower a few feet away.
A frown appeared on his face as one of its petals instantly dried and turned to ash.
’I thought darkness was back... I don’t know something else has awoken. This being is beyond this world.’ He slowly stood up. ’I am afraid even with the five spirits together, we won’t be able to survive this.’
"YOU BASTARD!!!"
He looked up as the space before him tore open, and a mirror appeared, revealing the lady on the mountain.
"Am I lying?" he asked.
The lady fell silent, and after a few seconds, she spoke: "I detected the Water, Fire, and Light spirits."
"Oh?" The guy was genuinely surprised. "Have they found their chosen?" he asked.
"I don’t know that yet, but their strength is still weak... Only the Water spirit is a bit stronger," the lady replied.
The guy turned his head to the trees in the distance and exhaled. "He is only a lower-level Transcendent... He is still weak."
"He? As expected of the Spirit of Earth..." The lady nodded and added, "I think we should go, with our help--"
"--No!!" He cut her off, turning to face her. "Those three are the strongest in our group... They must know how to use their strength."
"It seems you don’t get what is happening!! This new, unknown threat is stronger than darkness!! It might even be the real darkness!!"
"Enough, Spirit of the Wind... This unknown danger has only sent out a subordinate... We must see how the three deal with this. Then we will know if we are ready."
The trees moved toward him, and he mounted one. "They must know how to control their elements and everything related to their spirits, if not... we are just sitting sheep waiting to be slaughtered."
"You!!! I don’t understand your plan?! I said we should guide them?! We are the only spirits who have fully mastered our strength... We should give them our knowledge."
"That is where you are wrong... Each spirit has their own different knowledge and skills... You can’t go to the Light spirit and teach her how to use the wind skills... Let them learn. If these guys were lazy and weak, the spirits wouldn’t choose them in the first place."
The lady was silent, pondering his words. After some seconds, she sighed. "How long do you think that beast will reach its destination?" she asked.
The guy closed his eyes for a few seconds, then opened them. "With its speed... in three months."
"Thank you."
Before the mirror could disappear, the guy spoke: "And Wind spirit... I have eyes everywhere... We must let them grow, let them build their roots from the base... They should know the hardship and pain."
The lady frowned. ’I will never understand this guy.’
With that thought, she and the mirror vanished.
"Hmm..." The man hummed, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
________
[Back To Christopher.]
"AHHHHHHHH!!!"
Christopher frowned, and even the beasts turned, all staring at Advika in mild confusion.
"My soul!!! It feels like it’s burning!!!" Advika cried, her teeth gritted, sweat pouring down her face.
Christopher raised his head to the egg hovering above Advika, channeling its life force into her.
’This beast is strong,’ he thought inwardly.
"Fire element beasts!! I need all of you!"
The lions nodded and rushed towards Christopher and Advika.
"Surround and attack her with your strongest fire skill."
".....?"
The beasts were stunned.
"Do it!"
They all nodded, concentrating their strongest fire attacks and releasing everything towards Advika and the egg.
BOOOOM!!!!
Christopher quickly pointed a finger at Advika and unleashed his own fire skill. Lazarus, who had returned, also added his.
"Now... use the pills."
Advika, who sat amidst the flames, raised the pills with difficulty and quickly swallowed them all before they melted.
’Oh... What are you doing, child? Are you planning on killing yourself?’ she heard the Fire Goddess’s voice in her head.
’I won’t die!’ Advika yelled, her blue eyes turning into flames.
’I will wait for you,’ the voice said with a hint of amusement.
"AHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Advika let out another scream as the fire intensified.
CRACK!!
The egg above her cracked.
"Almost!!" Christopher hissed, adding more life force to his attack.
"Come out!"
Whoosh!!
Ten clones appeared around him, hovering in the air. Without hesitation, the ten unleashed the same fire skill towards Advika.
Lucas, Grim, and the other beasts stood thirty meters away from the group, staring at the rising flames.
"This will surely attract unwanted attention," Lucas said, turning her head to the distance. "Speaking of the fools."
Grim turned his head in the direction, seeing countless birds flying towards them, the strongest being a Legendary stage.
"Leave the birds to me," Reaper said, stepping forward.
Before Reaper could act, Christopher’s voice reached their ears:
"Let them come!! They will be nourishment to her beast!"
".....?!!"
"Huh?"
The three beasts were flabbergasted.
