"Who is the Boss? And what Boss are you talking about?"

The air in Xing’s house crackled with unspoken tension.

"Are you stupid?! How many Bosses do we have?!" Xing’s voice, amplified by the phone’s speaker, lashed out at Phoenix.

Phoenix stared, dumbfounded. "No... it can’t be. The Boss can’t be so young!" Her brow furrowed in disbelief. "But... we’ve met him. How can he be the Boss?"

Xing leaned back against her couch. "He said he’ll handle it himself."

"I heard the Vipers took this bounty. Can you locate them...?"

"Hmm..." Xing stretched, reaching for her laptop. She cradled the phone between her shoulder and ear, her fingers flying across the keyboard.

"The Boss might not want us to take care of Skull, but I should at least take care of those three... If Sunny or those two madmen get hold of this information, those three will be dead." Phoenix stated.

Xing nodded in agreement, her focus unwavering on the screen. After a brief pause, her fingers stilled. "Huh? The Vipers dropped the bounty...?" A look of surprise washed over her face.

"Good for them..." Phoenix’s voice held a hint of grim satisfaction. "Now, leave Skull to me."

Before Xing could respond, the line went dead.

"This girl..." Xing muttered, shaking her head. "But why is everyone heading to Cordelia?"

Her gaze swept across her living room, a thoughtful expression on her face. "I think I should also get ready... Although I am the weakest among the kings, I will still be useful." She closed her laptop and placed it aside, then reached for the remote and switched on the television. "As of now... let me start my movie night."

"What is happening? Even Phoenix has dropped this mission," the figure at the head of the table, his face obscured by a sinister Joker mask, inquired, his voice a low growl.

"Mr. Joker, this is strange," one of the men spoke, his voice laced with unease. "With her dropping it, everyone is backing down... None of the assassins want to take it on."

"Yes... this is truly perplexing." Joker tapped his fingernails rhythmically on the polished surface of the table, his masked gaze unwavering on Christopher’s image. "Who issued this bounty?" he demanded.

"He goes by the name Dracula," came a hesitant reply.

"Dracula? The Boss of the Golden Organization?!" Joker’s voice shot up in astonishment.

"Yes... This information isn’t registered in the system. We are the only ones who know about it."

"I thought the Golden Organization was eradicated by the Supreme Tamer of Cordelia! How in the hell are they still alive, and why is he after Christopher?" Joker’s questions tumbled out in rapid succession.

"Boss, I don’t care," a hulking, dark-skinned man declared, pushing himself to his feet. "Let me go! I promise you, in a day, I will take this guy down, and you all will share the rewards!"

Joker stared at him for a long moment, then slowly shook his head. "You are just a Low Master Awakener. What can you possibly do...? Look, Phoenix is a Peak Master Awakener, with complete control of the fire element. Do you truly believe you can face her? Now she has dropped this bounty. What does that tell you?!"

"Red flames is nothing! Leave it to me! I will take care of this guy!" the muscular man insisted, his voice booming with misplaced confidence.

"Shut up!" Joker roared, slamming his palm on the table with such force that cracks spiderwebbed across its surface. "Dracula only gave us his information as a carefree and weak younger generation! Do you think that’s all there is to him?! Phoenix moved to Cordelia and by now, she has already landed! Then she dropped this bounty!! Do you not understand what is going on here?!"

The man recoiled in fear, nodding his head vigorously as he quickly sank back into his chair.

Joker sighed, his frustration evident despite the mask. He turned to the remaining ten. "So, what’s our next plan?"

The ten assassins exchanged uneasy glances. Before anyone could speak, the single phone on the table began to ring, its shrill tone cutting through the tense silence.

"...?!"

A wave of confusion rippled through the room. Only ten individuals possessed this direct line, signifying the call’s potential gravity.

One of the men cautiously reached out and pressed the answer button. Phoenix’s voice, cold and sharp as shattered ice, filled the hall.

"I see Skull has so much audacity to go against someone I myself will show respect to."

Silence descended once more, heavy and suffocating.

"....."

Joker cleared his throat. "What do you mean by that, Red Flames?" he asked, his voice carefully neutral.

"Accepting a bounty on Christopher Valhalla!"

"...."

Joker’s masked gaze flickered from Christopher’s image on the screen to the phone in the man’s hand. "Who is he really?"

"Someone you shouldn’t mess with. Joker, you have two minutes to remove him from the dark web and tell me who placed this bounty, or you will have me and the four Beast Kings to deal with."
