Reincarnated as a Son of the Sword Saint and the Sage
Chapter 67 - 67: Adventurers' Guild

Four figures silently stood on the Imperial Capital's south main road's sidewalk as they watched a convoy of the noblewoman they saved from a bandit ambush disappear in the congestion of passing people. A moment of silence before the only man in the four opened his mouth.

"Let's go now."

"Okay, Michael."

After Lucy's plain response, the four of them started to walk through the capital's main road northbound to reach their destination. They didn't have to ask someone for directions because they already knew how to get there in the memory of Raphael since he got there before.

They walked with constant speed and a plain gait… but there's still one unavoidable problem.

"Whoa. Look at that group."

"Isn't it full of beauties?"

"I've never seen someone that beautiful before…"

"Who are they?"

"I just saw them coming out of that noble's carriage… better not involve yourself with them."

"Man… got jealous of that guy. Being surrounded by those beauties is just…"

"Should we ask them?"

"Calm down, man. That guy looks strong."

"Look at those ample badonkers…"

(Ample what?)

Wherever they go, they attract too much attention. Every sway of their clothing had people around them staring at them in fascination. There presence alone is something to be called worth beholding. Before they departed from the dungeon, they already anticipated those things happening.

Almost everybody turned their heads as the four walked by. Man or woman, no gender wasted their time observing the view. Seeing new levels of beauty, they peel their gazes off the ones who bear them.

Murmur there, clamor here. Talks of praise and envy rained down on them wherever they went.

"Looks like we still gained lots of gazes despite our effort to cover it." Uriel blurted out her dismay.

"Yeah. Being stared at was really uncomfortable to feel." Gabrielle anxiously nodded in agreement.

Before they get off of the carriage, Gabrielle and Uriel have already put on their hoods to hide their beauty. But it didn't seem to work; although the garments they used to cover their heads hid their heads, they didn't manage to hide their shape.

Once a man spotted a woman with a beautifully shaped figure, they constantly peeked at their faces to check who owned that divine body. For that reason, they attracted many eyes to feast on their desirable dimensions.

"Just ignore them. If anything happens, Lucy's there for you."

"He is right, ladies. I'm here to protect you two."

The four deliberately ignored people's thoughts of them as they moved forward towards the place they pointed out. Clearing their minds from the praises and opinions they got.

They passed some stalls and establishment owners shouting the names of products and services they sell on their way. Some even gave free stuff like grilled skewers to the girls as if it were an offering to the local pagans.

They had the nerve to ask them out but either got refused flatly and coldly or scared them out. For those who were persistent, they got a fist or were dragged by the roaming guards.

It was not long before their steps reached their desired destination. They stopped their feet in front of a massive, three-story grand building. With heights so high, that made the group look at the sky. Right now, they are in front of this continent's Adventurers' Guild main headquarters.

"Prepare yourselves, everyone."

Michael leads the way to the building's entrance, followed by the girls. They passed through massive double doors before stepping their foot on the concrete floor of the first floor of the establishment.

"…"

As they entered the building, some of the people stopped what they were doing to give them a look. Many adventurers and guild staffs were enticed by the views of the ladies in the group.

Not just for the ladies, some females in the area were struck dumb by Michael's attractively manly face.

It's past 2 o'clock in the afternoon, so the spacious lobby didn't have that many people. Many adventurers are on their designated missions for them to fulfill or challenge the Imperial Dungeon.

Since it's the biggest building of the guild throughout the continent, the numbers of people present in the hall still exceed a hundred. The people there were just minding their own business until Michael and the others came in.

As the four silently walked towards the counters, a muscular man approached them. The man is tall and bald, covered with slash scars over his body. No one tried to stop him, indicating he's the currently strongest one here.

They all stopped their feet to face the ruffian-looking man.

"You got some beauties there." The man sneered. "How about joining my party instead of thi— Ugh?!" But before he finished his sentence, Michael finally made his move and stared coldly at the beefy man.

Thud.

After a thud, an unconscious man lay flat on the cold floor.

"Hey? Did that man defeat him?"

"Did the alcohol distort my eyes already?"

"What's just happened? He's an A-ranked adventurer, you know?"

"I don't know, man. I didn't see anything at all."

The adventurers around gaped and went into commotion upon seeing the rare sight of a veteran adventurer collapsed on the floor on nothing. They didn't see one of the four move, so it made them wonder what just happened.

Suddenly, the teammates of the unconscious man rushed furiously towards the four. Michael stared them in the eye, and the history repeats itself.

"Hey, you there! What did you—Ugh!"

"Ack!"

"Oof!"

Thud. Thud. Thud.

But before they even get near, all the members of a B-ranked adventurer party one by one fall into the surface like a lonely puppet losing its manipulative strings. It wouldn't be an exaggeration if someone said they fell like a dying leaf blown by the autumn winds.

Seeing the strongest party in the lobby mysteriously wiped out, no one dares to approach the four again. The evidence of trampling a hornet's nest is just in front of them. Of course, the observers don't want to experience the same fate as the sleeping men on the cold floor.

Creating a commotion inside the guild is strictly forbidden by the guild and the Imperial Law. Not only a demotion of rank but also the fine and fees for the collateral damages.

For their party to avoid such punishment, they decided not to use brute force or move any muscle. Before the situation resorted to violence, Michael ended the conversation in a peaceful way. So peaceful that it made the opposing party soundly sleep.

What Michael did was similar to what an ominous monster did to Raphael a few moons ago. That ominous monster was the Indestructible Lizard.

After Raphael completely burned the lizard to the ground, he got its dreadful Unique Skill, the Unique Skill: Fear Incarnation. Fear Incarnation consists of a skill called Dread Fascination, a skill that immobilizes a target upon inflicting fear on sight.

But the word "immobilized" can only be applied to relatively strong entities. If cast on weaker ones, the terror sown was too much for their minds to contain and handle. Therefore, causing them to fall unconscious or, at worst, die.

Since Michael knew those adventurers were too weak and would undoubtedly die if he activated Dread Fascination uncontrollably, he greatly weakened its fear power to the point where they could only suffer unconsciousness and avoid fatal error.

He did not only inflict fear but also repeatedly whispered some words of advice on their very minds in an endless loop until they woke up.

Michael and the group silently glanced around the lobby to find out why people stared at them with wariness and caution in their eyes. They also felt some concern for the sleeping party. Some even sneered at the bodies, like they deserved what they got.

(Is this party well known in a negative way or something?)

"…"

A moment later, a few adventurers approached the scene slowly, as if not to step on a lion's tail. They are approaching not to confront Michael and the others but to drag the slumbering men to one side.

"Excuse us." Said an adventurer as he dragged a man by the feet.

They dropped dead in the middle of the chamber, so they have set them aside. Seeing dead flies lying on the table was not good for the eyes. That's why they have to bug them off.

"I apologize for the disrespect they had shown to you." Suddenly, a male guild staff member talked to them with an apologetic expression. "They are really a pain in the ass in the guild. They always harassed newcomers and caused disturbance."

"…It's no problem with us." Michael said.

"Can I ask something?" Seeing Michael nod, the staff continued. "Just what did you do to them? I don't see any of you making a move."

"…That? Just Intimidation?"

"Intimidation?" The staff repeated Michael's words.

"Yes."

"If you say so…" the staff scratched his head as he walked back.

Assuming no one would approach again, Michael turned his head to his colleagues. "Hmph, let's move on." Said Michael before they started walking again as if nothing else happened.
