Chapter 71: Chapter 69: Speed and Strike
Aurthor was running across the land, frustration written all over his face.
"Damn it, we got separated!" Aurthor muttered, heart pounding. He tightened his grip around the hilt of his sword.
"Lady Sumi... everyone... please be safe."
Just then—
A chill ran down his spine.
Before he could react, a brilliant flash of crimson lightning slashed down from the sky, crackling violently toward him. His instincts roared to life. In a single motion, he spun, raising his sword just in time.
KRAK-KOOM!
The impact threw a gust of wind across the land, uprooting flowers and trees. Sparks danced along Aurthor’s blade as he struggled to hold his ground. He gritted his teeth, his boots digging into the cracked soil.
When the dust cleared, Aurthor looked up sharply—
—and saw him.
Floating above the shattered earth was a figure, clothed in a dark cloak, his body wrapped in roaring streams of red lightning. His skin was a shade too pale, his eyes a sickening bright crimson.
Boltz.
"You managed to block it, kid?" Boltz’s mocking voice echoed, filled with malice.
Aurthor’s glare sharpened like the edge of his sword.
"D-Demon..."
Boltz threw his head back and laughed, crackles of electricity scattering into the air.
Without a word of warning, Boltz shot down like a meteor. Red lightning twisted around his body as he barreled straight toward Aurthor.
BOOM!
Aurthor raised his blade again, feeling the force of the strike ripple through his arms. He slid back several meters, digging trenches into the ground.
"He’s fast," Aurthor muttered, eyes narrowing.
"But—" A confident smirk curved his lips, "I’m faster."
He lunged forward, light exploding around him.
His sword moved like a beam of pure energy, colliding head-on with Boltz’s lightning-imbued fists.
Another shockwave split the air.
Boltz jumped back, clicking his tongue. His crimson eyes watched Aurthor carefully.
"This boy... he’s not any ordinary human," he whispered to himself, analyzing the speed and precision of Aurthor’s strikes.
Boltz tilted his head, as if remembering something ancient.
With an amused smirk, he called out,
"Are you, by chance, the fastest human to ever live or something?"
Aurthor pointed his glowing blade forward, pride swelling in his chest.
"Yes, that’s correct.
I’m here to kill demons, and help Lady Sumi and the others.
And right now—you’re in my way."
Boltz’s laughter rumbled through the land, a thunderstorm in itself.
"Hahaha! How interesting! It’s like fate itself brought you to me!"
His voice twisted, deeper, darker.
"BRING IT ON, BOY!!"
Crimson lightning particles enveloped Boltz’s figure, and in an instant, he vanished.
Aurthor tensed. His eyes darted around, heart beating faster, but his hands remained steady.
"I will not lose"
"I need to focus... if I even blink wrong, he’ll kill me"
The wind howled.
A red streak shot in from the left—
Aurthor twisted his body, dodging by a hair’s breadth. He countered immediately, slashing in an arc so fast it bent the air.
CLANG!
Boltz reappeared mid-air, casually deflecting the blade with a flick of his forearm. Sparks exploded between them.
"You’ve got good reflexes, kid."
Boltz’s lips curled into a dangerous grin.
"Let’s see how long you can keep up!" Boltz said with a mocking tone
The sky above them crackled and roared.
Aurthor didn’t reply. He launched himself upward, sword first, igniting the air behind him with a burst of blinding white.
Their clashes became almost invisible to the eye.
Flashes of red and white, thunderclaps ringing with every collision, tore apart the Garden.
Boltz spun mid-air, weaving between Aurthor’s strikes, but Aurthor was relentless.
He moved faster, and faster, each swing of his blade matching the speed of light.
Then—
In a flash, Aurthor appeared behind Boltz.
SHIIING—!
A deep slash ran across Boltz’s back, sparking with red lightning.
Boltz growled, pain flashing across his face. He spun and retaliated with a fist imbued with demonic lightning, but Aurthor ducked under it, stepping on pure beams of light.
"So fast... so sharp..."
Boltz’s mind raced.
"He’s faster than my eyes can follow"
Aurthor smirked inwardly and says
"Heh. He’s strong, but..."
In the middle of the clash, Aurthor rotate his sword and then girp on the sword increase, he speaks and chant
God Sword Technique!"
"Light form!"
"Speed of God!!"
Suddenly, the light around Aurthor’s body intensified a hundredfold.
The ground beneath his feet shattered into powder from the sheer force of his speed. He became a ray of blinding brilliance.
Boltz’s eyes widened as Aurthor disappeared entirely from sight.
Then—
SLASH!
A deep cut opened across Boltz’s chest before he could even move.
SLASH!
Another along his arm.
Boltz roared, spinning wildly, but his fists met only empty air.
Aurthor reappeared behind him, sword gleaming, face stoic.
"You’re too slow," Aurthor said coldly.
Boltz staggered back, blood dripping from his wounds, his red lightning sputtering like a dying storm.
"Hah... haha..." Boltz chuckled weakly.
"You’re pushing yourself, aren’t you, boy?"
Aurthor didn’t reply.
Sweat trickled down his forehead. His breathing was becoming ragged. His muscles screamed in agony.
Inside his mind, a timer was ticking—
31 seconds... 32 seconds...
He knew it.
He couldn’t maintain faster-than-light speed for longer than a minute, or—
His body would explode from the overwhelming energy.
Aurthor clenched his teeth.
"I have to end this quickly...!"
He dashed forward again, blurring through the battlefield. Boltz raised his guard, trying desperately to keep up.
Sword strikes rained down like a meteor shower, each one precise enough to sever mountains.
Boltz was slowly being pushed into a corner.
Cracks began to form on his demonic armor. His lightning was growing unstable. His breathing heavy.
Aurthor prepared the final blow—
But then—
60 seconds.
BEEP—!
An invisible alarm exploded in his body. His nerves caught fire.
Pain, raw and unbearable, tore through every muscle fiber.
"GAAAHH—!" Aurthor screamed, staggering backward, almost dropping his sword.
His light aura shattered into pieces like broken glass.
Boltz’s body was separate into tiny pieces but still not dead, suddenly with the same speed of his red lightning his whole body regenerate back in blink of an eye,his grinned wide.
"Well, well, well... look at you." He said in a mocking tone while looking at him
Aurthor fell to one knee, panting violently. His arms trembled. Blood seeped from his nose and ears.
Boltz rose, his body sparking even brighter.
"You thought you could beat me with just speed?"
Boltz’s voice rumbled.
Suddenly—
He lifted both his arms.
The entire atmosphere shifted.
Clouds turned crimson.
The earth began to shake.
Boltz’s body glowed with a dangerous, overwhelming power.
Aurthor’s eyes widened.
With a cold eyes Boltz stare at Aurthor and with a deep cold voice he chants
"Demon Style: Rumbling Crimson"
KRA-KOOM!!!
A massive ring of blood-red lightning erupted around Boltz, expanding outward, consuming everything.
The ring spun violently, distorting space itself.
Aurthor barely raised his sword, but Boltz laughed and says
"Hahaha don’t try kid it’s over for you!, Inside my crimson circle i have my ultimate skill ’auto-dodge’, i admit that you are way more faster then me but that isn’t enough to defeat me. No matter how fast you will struck, i would dodge it perfectly—automatically! The table have turned! Hahahahahah!"
Then he slowly raised his hand and pointed a single clawed finger at Aurthor.
Dozens of crimson lightning strikes materialized, each one locking onto him.
SHOOOM—!
The bolts chased Aurthor relentlessly, twisting and following his every move.
Aurthor gritted his teeth, dragging his battered body into motion.
He dodged left—
Three bolts curved and followed.
He dove right—
Five more streaked after him.
There was no escape.
"I’m... getting tired... too fast..." Aurthor said with a shaky voice
Each breath felt like swallowing molten iron.
Each step felt like running with a mountain chained to his back.
Boltz laughed darkly.
"You had your fun, kid. Now it’s MY turn."
He flashed forward, faster than before.
Aurthor tried to raise his sword—
CRACK!
A heavy punch slammed into his ribs. Bones cracked. Aurthor gasped in pain, flying backward and smashing into a tree.
He coughed violently, blood staining his lips.
His vision blurred. His limbs felt heavy. His sword, his proud sword, fell from his hand with a clink.
Boltz floated above him, surrounded by dancing crimson lightning, He stare at him silently then speaks and said.
"You were fast kid," Boltz admitted with a crooked smile, "but not strong enough to defeat the strongest Demon general."
Aurthor, gasping for air, forced his body to move his eyes filled with his own blood. He tried to stand up and with a shacky painful voice he speaks,
"No... I can’t lose here... not yet... Lady Sumi... everyone..."
He gripped the ground.
He tried to stand.
His knees buckled.
Boltz pointed a crackling claw at him.
"This is where you fall."
A single crimson bolt began to gather above Boltz’s fingertip, growing larger, deadlier by the second.
Aurthor, battered, bloodied, and broken, stared up defiantly—
—but deep down, even he knew—
He can’t even stand... his bones are broken and his mana and energy running out
He collapsed in ground unable to move,
"It’s over.... I’m going t-.." He wishpeard to himself
His eyes slowly closing...
