Chapter 65: Chapter 63: Being Weak

"I am going to eat you, kid!!!" the goblin screamed and jumped at Yooto.

Yooto shot the burning arrow toward him, but the goblin twisted his body mid-air and dodged the attack.

"Wha-!" Yooto gasped in shock. The goblin rushed toward him, and Yooto started running.

Yooto charged his bow again—this time it was shining blue. Then he shot it. The arrow dashed toward the goblin at high speed.

The goblin smiled and dodged it effortlessly, but then Yooto smiled and snapped his fingers.

BOOM!—the arrow exploded, freezing the area and filling it with smoke.

But when the smoke cleared, Yooto saw the goblin was not there. He was surprised, but before he could react, the goblin was already behind him, his hand now forming sharp claws.

"It’s over, kid!!!" he screamed, but Yooto dodged at the last moment.

Yooto looked at him and said,

"He’s fast!"

The goblin vanished in an instant. Yooto gasped, looking around in panic. Suddenly, the place he stood was destroyed. Yooto jumped up—but the goblin appeared behind him.

The goblin raised his hand and said,

"Demon Style: Aurora Slash!"

Rainbow light flickered from his claws, then he slashed Yooto’s chest.

"Ahhhh!" Yooto screamed in pain.

He dropped to his knees, feeling extreme pain in his chest.

The goblin started laughing, then rushed toward Yooto again. But Yooto jumped back and said,

"It’s just a scratch! Why does it hurt so bad?"

He charged his bow, summoning three glowing arrows at once, and launched them toward the goblin.

The goblin raised his claws and slashed every single arrow.

Yooto’s chest regenerated. He crouched like a frog, charging his bow again—this time creating an invisible arrow—then shot it toward the goblin.

The goblin raised his claws, but he couldn’t see where the arrow was. It pierced through his stomach. He bled from his mouth.

"It hit!" Yooto said.

But the next moment, the goblin regenerated instantly and gave a sinister smile.

Yooto was shocked. He tried to charge his bow again, but the goblin vanished and reappeared behind him.

Yooto gasped and tried to turn back and jump—but before he could—

SLASH

The goblin cut his right foot.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!" Yooto screamed in pain and fell to the ground, bleeding badly.

"Hahahahaha! I got you, elf kid!" the goblin laughed.

Yooto looked at him, his eyes filled with tears.

Goblin laughed and said with a mocking tone

"Aren’t you one of the goddess’s men? You’re so weak, hahahahahaha! Are people there all as weak as you?"

Yooto closed his eyes, grinning despite the pain.

The goblin raised his claws and said,

"My demon art increases pain two times the damage! But looks like it’s too much for you! Muwahahahahaha!"

Yooto closed his eyes and thought:

(Yes... I’m weak... I was always weak... Bokkon... Aurthor... they are on a whole other level than me... I... I was just their shadow... always following them...)

Then his mind flashed back to a huge jungle filled with treehouses and elves.

A young Yooto sat alone on the balcony of his house, gazing at the view.

Suddenly, a voice called from behind,

"Yooto, come! The dinner is ready."

Yooto turned. A tall elf with a muscular body stood there.

"Ok, Dad!!!" he replied cheerfully.

He walked inside and sat at the table, his eyes wide at the amazing food.

"Wowww," he said in amazement.

"Eat as much as you want, my son. After all, you have to become strong and protect everyone," his dad said with a smile.

Then, in a sad voice, Yooto thought:

(I’m sorry, Dad... I couldn’t become the person you wanted.)

He remembered when an elf wearing armor appeared at his house and handed over his dad’s clothes, saying:

"Sorry, young boy... your dad died protecting the village."

Yooto’s eyes widened. He wasn’t ready to believe it.

(I’m sorry, Mom... I couldn’t protect Dad... I’m sorry I couldn’t save you...)

He recalled crying over his mom’s dead body. Then he heard a whispering voice of an old elf:

"Did you hear that? That young elf died because of illness?"

Another old elf replied,

"Yes. It’s so sad that younger people than us are dying."

(I... I was never there for those who needed me... I... I’m so pathetic...)

Suddenly, an old male elf screamed:

(Yooto!)

Yooto opened his eyes. He was in the middle of nothingness—a dark void.

Again, the voice screamed:

(Yooto!)

Yooto turned and saw the elder elf.

"E-Elder..." he said with a shaky voice.

Then the elder screamed:

(Yooto, did you forget what I told you?!)

Yooto looked at him, and suddenly he remembered when they were in the Paradise Garden making their new village.

"Yooto, you are the pride of us elves."

"Huh?" Yooto looked at the elder in confusion.

The elder spoke again:

"You are accepted as the goddess’s student! That means she saw the potential in you! So go and prove that we elves are not as weak as they think!"

Yooto looked at the elder and thought:

(Even though you said that...)

Then a soft voice echoed:

(Yooto)

Yooto’s eyes widened.

(L... Lady Sumi...)

He remembered when he and Sumi sat alone in the church, and Sumi said:

"Being weak isn’t something to be embarrassed of—it’s a chance to grow, to rise, and to become someone even your strongest self could be proud of."

Then he remembered something else—when he was in archery training. Sumi stood beside him and said:

"Archery isn’t just about shooting arrows. It’s not a game of strength or speed."

In confusion, Yooto asked:

"Then what is it about?"

Sumi replied with a smile:

"It’s about focus. Precision. The ability to silence everything around you. If you can focus on your target... truly focus..."

Yooto softly replied:

"...Then I can hit it?"

Sumi closed her eyes and replied:

"No. Then you become the arrow. You don’t aim—you flow. You don’t shoot—you release. Be one with the arrow... and the target will come to you."

As he remembered that, his eyes shot open.

The goblin was laughing, walking toward him and saying.

"Oh, such a shame~ Elves have long lives~ but looks like you’re going to die very young."

Yooto gritted his teeth, then with all his strength stood up on one leg, using his bow for support.

The goblin was surprised and whispered,

"What? He still has strength?"

Yooto slowly closed his eyes and whispered:

"Focus... focus... forget the pain... just focus on your target..."

The goblin raised his claws with a smile and dashed toward Yooto.

Yooto’s eyes remained closed. He slowly raised his bow and whispered:

"Become one with the arrow... let the target come..."

Then he opened his eyes instantly.

The goblin felt a chill and jumped back to make distance.

The goblin whispered:

"What’s with this kid... it’s like... he’s a whole different person."

Yooto’s eyes were locked. He was motionless.

From Yooto’s eyes, he saw it—many red dots across the goblin’s body.

"That’s the target..." Yooto whispered.

He summoned a simple arrow and shot it.

The goblin raised his claws.

"This will do nothing!"

But as he was about to slash the arrow, it changed direction.

"Wha—" the goblin gasped.

The arrow pierced his shoulder.

"Damn you, fucking elf!!!" he screamed in pain.

Before he could do anything, Yooto had already launched another arrow.

The goblin tried to dodge, but the arrow followed him.

"What the fuck is this?!" he screamed, the first arrow still lodged in his shoulder.

As he looked behind him—another arrow came from the front and pierced his chest. Then another one pierced his neck.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH FUCKKKKKKKK!" the goblin screamed.

He looked up and saw Yooto. His foot had regenerated, and he was walking toward him.

The goblin pulled out all the arrows and tried to jump at Yooto—but suddenly, his body froze.

"Wha—" he gasped.

"Paralyzation," Yooto said.

"F-Fuck you, stupid elf!!!" the goblin screamed.

Yooto, with cold eyes, walked up and sat in front of him, staring into his terrified face.

"Hey, what were you saying? That I’m one of Lady Sumi’s men, right? And I’m so weak?"

He glared at the goblin and said:

"Yes, I’m the weakest. Now imagine... how strong the strong people are."

The goblin gasped. He couldn’t move.

Yooto stood and said:

"But... what are you?"

"You’re so weak that the only power you have is pain. But... pain means nothing."

The goblin looked at him, shocked. Yooto grabbed his head and threw him high into the sky.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" the goblin screamed.

Yooto raised his bow.

"Being weak isn’t something to be embarrassed of... But calling someone weak who is stronger than you? That’s something you should be embarrassed of. Because who knows..."

"You might end up dead."

A huge, black flame-burning arrow appeared on his bow. Yooto shot it at the goblin with incredible speed.

The goblin looked at the incoming arrow. It stabbed into him and—

BOOMMMMMMMMMMMM!

A huge explosion lit the sky.

Yooto stood still, then fell to the ground, whispering before passing out:

"Lady Sumi..."

"I did it."
