Chapter 229: choke
Within seconds, Kael’s bedroom in Liss’s villa was a storm of estrogen and chaos, a superpowered whirlwind crashing through the soundproof sanctuary he’d clung to moments ago.
They poured in—blonde, busty, redhead, goth, curvy, slim, sharp-tongued, soft-voiced—a fantasy harem to some, a waking nightmare to Kael.
His everyday life, a relentless mix of danger and desire, had caught up with him.
He’d only wanted to sleep in peace.
His hazel eyes, still heavy with sleep after a day lost to rest, blinked tiredly, his body aching but grounded.
But now, he was sprawled on the bed, smothered by Freya’s massive, soft breasts pressing against his face through her cyan t-shirt, her platinum-cyan hair spilling on his face as she hugged him tight.
Rhea straddled his hips, her crimson hair loose, her amber eyes glinting with impatience as she waited for his head to emerge so she could kiss him.
Freya didn’t budge, so Rhea leaned forward, planting a fierce kiss on the sliver of his forehead she could reach, her lips warm, possessive.
"I missed you, you dummy," Rhea whispered, her arms sneaking around his shoulders, her body pressing closer, her breasts brushing his chest through her tank top, a subtle heat in the contact.
"I was only asleep," Kael mumbled, his words muffled against Freya’s chest, her warmth enveloping him, her scent—cool mint and frost—dizzying.
At the door, the twins watched, their black eyes gleaming in the dim light.
Lila’s lips curved into a soft, amused smile, her curly black hair framing her pale face, she wore a loose t-shirt and shorts.
Tila’s grin was mischievous, her wild black hair a tangle, her eyes sparking with chaos.
She darted forward, tickling both of Kael’s bare feet with a swift pinch, making him jerk, his face pressing deeper into Freya’s breasts, a muffled groan escaping him.
"Cut that out," Lila said, slapping Tila’s hand gently, her black eyes glinting with reprimand but a smile tugging at her lips.
Tila giggled, undeterred, her t-shirt loose but hinting at her lean frame. "What? It’s funny."
Liss stood at the foot of the bed, arms crossed, her midnight-blue shorts and oversized t-shirt giving her a casual air, but her presence commanded the room, her blonde ponytail flicking over her shoulder.
Her blue eyes narrowed, unimpressed.
"Just don’t break my bed," she warned, her voice sharp, electric. "Or Kael’s paying for it."
"Worth it," Freya muttered, hugging Kael tighter, her breasts pressing closer, her sultry voice warm against his ear.
"Speak for yourself," Rhea snapped, her amber eyes flashing, her body shifting on Kael’s hips, her breasts brushing him, a teasing heat. "I get him next."
Freya ignored her, cradling Kael’s face in her hands, brushing his messy hair back, her blue eyes softening, her tone shifting to something deeper, resolute.
"I’m never leaving your side again," she said, her voice low, fervent. "I’ll grow stronger, whatever it takes. I’ll protect you."
"I second that," Rhea added, her voice quieter, a rare seriousness in her amber eyes, her hands resting on Kael’s chest. "You’ve done enough saving. Let us handle it for once."
Kael blinked, caught off guard, a warmth swelling in his chest at their fierce loyalty.
Even Tila cringed, her black eyes rolling. "Ugh, so cheesy."
Lila giggled, her black eyes glinting with amusement. "Let them have their moment."
Liss rolled her eyes, turning toward the kitchen, her shorts hugging her toned thighs as she walked.
"Big talk from a woman who is stuck in A rank forever," she called over her shoulder. "I’ll be in the kitchen. Try not to drool on my sheets."
"By the way..." Freya called, loosening her grip as Kael sat up, ruffling his already-messy hair, his hazel eyes squinting against the light.
"Hm?" he asked, his voice groggy.
"How’d you get to the hospital alone?" Freya asked, her blue eyes narrowing, "You can’t drive right?"
Kael froze, his hazel eyes darting, the twins glancing at each other.
Tila tilted her head, her black eyes sparking with interest.
"I... drove," Kael said, his voice faltering. "Spur of the moment."
Silence stretched, heavy and skeptical.

Dinner sprawled across Liss’s sleek modern dining table, big enough for six, a feast of roasted chicken, garlic bread, and a creamy soup that filled the villa with savory warmth.
Liss had gone all out, her blue eyes glinting with pride as she set the plates, her t-shirt loose but hinting at her athletic curves.
Freya grudgingly nodded approval, her sultry voice silent, unwilling to admit it aloud.
Kael was the only one to praise the food, his hazel eyes warm as he took a bite. "It’s good. Really."
Liss beamed, her blonde ponytail bouncing. "Thanks, Kael. Hope the others choke."
"Excuse me?" Rhea shot her a glare, her amber eyes flashing, her crimson hair loose around her shoulders, her breasts subtly outlined through the tank top.
"I said nothing," Liss grinned, sweet and venomous, her shorts shifting as she leaned back.
"Liss," Freya said, her voice mature, slightly tired, her blue eyes narrowing, "this soup tastes like you stirred it with a battery."
"Flavor," Liss shot back, smug. "Electricity’s a spice."
"That’s not how food works," Freya countered, her posture calm but commanding.
"It is in my house," Liss said, her blue eyes glinting.
Rhea raised a hand, her amber eyes sparking with mischief. "So, who gets the last piece of garlic bread?"
"Me," Rhea said instantly before she gave anyone time to speak, her voice firm, her breasts pressing against her tank top as she leaned forward.
"You have already eaten for three, it’s mine," Tila said, her black eyes gleaming, as she flexed her arm.
"I have made for eight people and it still wasn’t enough, animals," Liss muttered, her blue eyes narrowing.
As they bickered over dinner, Kael leaned back in his chair, his hazel eyes roaming the table, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
Freya whispered, her voice sultry, "I can wear an apron and nothing else tomorrow if Lightning ass let’s me cook."
"I don’t think it’s a good idea." Kael chuckled, his hazel eyes warm, the chaos around him a strange comfort.
