Olivia’s eyes widened as she glared at the man entering the balcony as if it belonged to him even when it literally belonged to him.

"Ah! I was wondering who was bold enough to worry her after the last moon ball. It was you! No wonder." Edward chuckled with a bemused look on his face when he noticed Olivia glaring dagger at Damon.

Was the rumor that Olivia was afraid of the duke and his first child was also wrong? Looks like his spies had not taken a good care when it comes to reporting about Olivia. She was not like that at all.

"Your highness!" Damon bowed but there was no reverence in his eyes, "I only wanted to dance with the lady. But it seems she was waiting for someone else. No wonder she rejected the dress I had sent for her." Edward paused. His eyes flickering from Olivia to Damon.

"It seems I have snatched something from you, Damon. I will compensate with a grand gift later. Now if you excuse us, we will prefer privacy." Olivia had stiffened in Edward’s arms.

She did not want to fall out with Damon. She was only playing around to keep his curiosity until she found a better way to explain everything. But if he marked her as his enemy. With that through, she wriggled from Edward’s arm.

"Your highness, there are so many guests around. It would not be appropriate for us to stay here." Damon’s eyes narrowed at her actions and he chuckled.

"Looks like my aunt did not prefer your suggestion, your highness." He held Olivia’s hands and pulled her away from Edward’s grasp. But Edward held her hand.

Olivia frowned. She screamed in her heart. What were they both doing?

"I never knew you cared about your aunt. This is the first time you have called her that." Edward challenged only for Damon to smirk.

"No matter what I call her, she is still my family and you are my guest. I hope you could enjoy the party as a guest." He pulled Olivia harder but Edward did not let go.

He had never been challenged and he had never let go of the things he liked.

"Abi!" Olivia screamed, breaking the tension between them. "I have promised Abi to have dinner with her later. If you could let me go..." Edward blinkled and let go of her hand. Damon smirked and let go too.

Olivia rubbed her bruised wrist and bowed her head. She left the balcony as if demons were chasing her.

"Ha! I have played to spend time with his highness for so long. I wanted to fix our deal already but what had gotten into my lord." Olivia shook her head. Balcony would have provided her perfect privacy.

As she returned, she scanned the room. Though the kids who had not debuted were not allowed to attend the banquets and balls, kids of the host are exceptions.

They are allowed to come and greet the guests so that they can leave an early impression. Leo was proficient when it came to greeting the guests. But it was the first ball Abi would attend.

"I apologize for her mistake, my lady. Abi is still young."

"And inept." Countess Moore glared at Abi as if she was disgusting. "No wonder the duchess hides her every time." A surge of anger filled Olivia. She knew if she would reply, the matter would only escalate. But if she stayed silent, Countess Moore would leave.

She was not even scolding Abi. She was only trying to flaunt her prowess and Abi was an easy target. A wise person would take a step back.

Yet, when she watched Countess Moore scoff and turn to leave, she felt her body quivering.

She took a step forward and pressed the woman’s dress harder. Her strength was much more than Abi. Countess Moore was not prepared for it, she used more force to take a step forward.

Olivia let go of her dress suddenly. Countess Moore lost her balance and fell on the ground.
