Chapter 162: Twisted Truths!

"This is a lie!" Edward glared at his sister for playing such a prank on him. But Diana gritted her teeth. Her eyes were full of hatred. She wanted to kill someone. So she glared at the woman he was holding.

The woman shrank afraid. But that was enough to save her. Not today when Diana saw blood.

She walked closer, pulled the girl from her brother;s arm by her braid and pulled her all the way to the door and then she closed the door on her face.

"Ouch! That was cruel." Edward chucked enjoying the entertainment but Diana glared at him.

"All this is a joke for you. Isn’t it! You do not care at all that your future wife is kissing my future husband!?" Efwoard rolled his eyes and picked up the glass of wine from the table.

"Olivia would never do that. She hated Damon. She was sure that he would kill her and her nephews and niece. Trust me, she would never love Damon." Yet, he felt a strange uneasiness rising in his chest.

Olivia laughed at the reply.

"You think everything is simple! I have seen them kissing." she snarled. "I knew her intentions from the start.. You have to do something." Edward frowned. Though he had full trust in Olivia, Diana would gain nothing from lying.

"Let me write a letter to Olivia." Diana gritted her teeth. Her frustration and impatience rose.

"And what would the letter do! Brother, I am going to father you if you are not solving the issue properly." she hissed, ready to leave. When Edward slammed the glass on the table with force.

"Diana!"

"What!" she hissed, not at all caring about his commanding voice.

"I will come with you. Wait!" Diana smirked as Edward followed her to the carriage she had prepared in advance.

"What now? Are you going to create a scene after reaching? What did you even ask them?" Edward scowled. He knew that Diana was using him. But he could not help it. He could not put Olivia in danger. Knowing the greed of his father, Olivia would be in danger if she challenged his commands.

"I? What can a spoiled princess like me do brother? You are going to confront Olivia and take her away while I will cry in my finance’s arms. Then you would make sure that we get married to our respective partners as soon as possible." her lips twisted. "How did this happen brother? You are losing your charm or could not please your fiance after pleasuring so many girls.?" Edward’s face twisted due to the mockery.

He had not touched Olivia because he did not get the chance. And she had cleared that she was not interested in him, she only wanted power he would provide and in exchange she would help in gaining the crown. The transaction was simple and he did not want to twist it into something complex.

"She would never choose Damon." he assured but Diana just sneered and looked away.

The journey to the ducal manor was eerily silent. Edward wanted to leave the carriage but he endured. It was dawn when the carriage reached ducal manor.

The doors were tightly closed with hardly any servant nearby.

"We should have informed them before coming here." Edward sighed as he opened the carriage door and came out yet no servant came to receive them.

Diana’s eyes narrowed at the door. A higher noble like dukes had a knight guarding the door all the time. They should have noticed the royal carriage from afar and informed the family about their arrival. But the manor was eerily silent.

"Knock at the door." Edward asks the four knights following them. The knights knocked the door and informed the posted guard about their arrival.

The guard was shocked and hurriedly ran to inform others before inviting them inside.

Edward returned to the carriage as the main door opened and they went in. but even when they reached the entrance, no one came to welcome them. The guard from before had disappeared too.

"What kind of a joke is this!" Diana could not bear the insult anymore. She walked in with her heels creating a shrill noise in the calm night.

After half an hour when they had settled down, Damon came to the porch with six maids following him closely.

"I apologize for the deal with your highnesses, I was not expecting guests." Edward’s face changed colors.

But Diana glared at him.

"Damon! We are here to know your reasons." she bit her lips and sniffled. "You have betrayed me and cheated on me. How could you do this to me?"

"Damon watched her with cold eyes without emotions. "I never accepted to marry you, my lady. His majesty offered you to me if we sign the deal with the eastern envoys. But they have refused already. I do not want you to have false hopes."

"That..." she knew about the condition. But she had never thought that Eastern envoys would ever refuse. "Olivia is still betrothed to my brother." she demanded only for Damon to raise a brow with a mocking smile.

"She is? Since when? Why was I never informed by her family?" Edward frowned hearing him.

"You have witnessed it. I have even come to your father’s funeral and.." Edward realized. His eyes widened with shock. He or the royal family had never announced that he would marry Olivia.

He had intentionally hid the news so that he could win a few more noble women and use their resources and power for his benefit.

"I was indeed honored that you visited the graveyard that day, your highness. But what did it have to do with Olivia?" this bastard! He was twisting the truth and lies.

"Then call her, she knew about our marriage. She will tell you." Edward spat only to earn a chuckle from Damon.

"Then next? Should I call gods to confirm the rain and seas? We all know that you would get married one day. What did it have to do with olivia?"
