Chapter 161: Accept The Deal
Chapter 161: Accept The Deal
The kiss came out like a storm that swept her away and left her breathless.
The next, his hands were in her hair, her fists clutching his shirt like a lifeline, and their mouths met with a desperation that felt like breaking through the surface after drowning.
It wasn’t soft. It wasn’t gentle.
It was a collision—of grief, of fury, of a thousand unsaid things. His lips were warm, demanding, like fire after frost, and when she kissed him back, the world tipped sideways. Her knees buckled slightly, but he caught her, held her like he’d never let go again.
She felt the pressure of his mouth, the slide of his hand down her spine, the way he breathed her name like a vow between every touch. Her mind spun, thoughts scattering like leaves in the wind. She was dizzy, not from lack of air, but from the sheer force of it.
And still, it deepened. Slower now, slower but more intense like thunder rolling in the distance after the lightning has struck.
When they finally pulled apart, barely an inch between them, both of them were shaking. Her lips were swollen, her pulse thundered in her throat, and his forehead was resting against hers, eyes closed, like he couldn’t believe what had just happened either.
"Why did you do it?" she whispered. Her forehead leaning on his. Breathes came slowly and she felt lightheaded. One moment, they were arguing when she cut her finger. He licked it and before she knew his lips were on hers. But what shocked her most was, instead of pushing him away, she pulled him closer.
"I always wanted to!" his voice was filled with longing, shocking her.
"You..." he pulled away and stood straight, they were alone in the room.
"You should go and speak to Shaya. She is not a normal envoy." she cursed. She had forgotten about the envoys, about the deal completely. What else had she forgotten?
She shook her head and left the room. Damon lowered his head and stared at his pants with a twisted look,
"Damn it! It was only a kiss and I am already this hard. How would I court her without dying from pain!?"

Olivia reached the open restaurant with hasty steps. She was stunned to know that the princess had already left.
"She left with the two knights and the only carriage. We are here with you." Shaya shrugged, not at all worried about her abandonment.
"I... I am sorry. I do not know how this happened. I.." Olivia was at a loss of words. She knew the princess nature. She would not let the matter go. Edward would know about it before dawn. "I will arrange a carriage for you."
"I want to go to your manor." Shaya said instead. Every eye rose to her face. "We are going to use the duke’s estate as the trade route if the deal is finalised. I have a few questions for him." Olivia bit her lips.
"I do not have the power to decide, madam. You have to ask for his grace." they thought Damon would follow closely. But he didn’t come for a whole hour.
Olivia had already paid the bill when they finished the meal. Damon returned with his skin red and hair wet. Olivia looked at him questioningly but he ignored her completely.
He walked straight toward the exit. Olivia frowned and followed him closely.
"Why are you following me?" was this man suffering from mood swings. What was with this cold voice?!
"They want to come with us to your manor." Damon paused and stared behind her. Shaya nodded with a smile while her group looked uneasy.
"Our!" he corrected making Olivia frown. "They are welcomed here. Come." he held her hand suddenly and escorted her to the carriage. Shaya sat in the carriage but it was not enough for everyone. They hired a local carriage and followed them closely.
"Are you two dating now?"
"Yes!"
"No!" Damon’s eyes narrowed at Olivia.
"What do you mean by No!" Olivia’s eyes twitched. "Are you planning to abandon me after taking advantage of me!"
Olivia gasped, shock running in her eyes like a jolt of fire pulsing beneath her skin.
"You were the one who kissed me!" she spat. He blinked and then nodded, accepting it with a smirk.
"When I would be the one taking responsibility. Do not worry, I will arrange the marriage before the words go out." hearing the righteousness in her voice, Olivia was dumbfounded.
Her jaw hit the ground with her eyes widened more than the saucer.
"Who... I do not need it." She inhaled and exhaled and then repeated the process until her mind was a bit clear.
"But I do!’ Damon refused to listen to her anymore. "Madam Shaya. We will invite you for the reception.
"Who is getting married?" Olivia was at loss. What just happened to the Damon she knew!?
"You and i!"
"I am your aunt." Olivia gritted her teeth with force. But he did not look worried at all.
"That is in the past. Your sister is leaving the position of duchess. I am not her real son." OLivia wanted to tell him that it did not matter. But she knew he would not listen. So she ignored him. Damon lost his mind. But his majesty would assure that he could be rational again.
He was already chosen for the princess.
"Shaya! What have you thought about the deal?" Since she did not ask more, Damon did not pressure her.
"I do not have the right to decide." she smiled, Damon raised a brow.
"You are the princess. I am sure the future queen had enough power." Shaya’s lips twitched and she turned to Olivia but Olivia shook her head. Her tongue was not loose.
"Well, my power depends on the benefits I get. I did not feel I was welcomed here enough. They think I am a fool."
"And you use it to your benefit. But.. I do not think you are a fool, Shaya. So tell me, what would it take for you to accept the deal?"
