Chapter 152: Save Her!

The words fell in her ears but it did not register in her brain. Her mind refused to work. She could only hear the sound of her pounding her in her eardrums, making her feel hot and burning. His hands started to slide on her hands.

She knew she should pull away but as if a spell had been casted, she could not move. Her body temperature slowly seeps through. It made her whole body tremble.

"You are burning too. You are sick." he announced with a frown. She followed his gaze and noticed there was a red mark on her arm just above her elbows. Edward had held her tightly earlier but she had not realized that it had left a mark.

How did he know? He was not in the room? But the way he was looking at it, her eyes started to burn and sting again. The desire to cry started to envelop her again.

"You taught him a good lesson!" he whispered softly, "you are a brave girl!" his fingers brushed the wounds softly leaving a shiver on her skin. Could a simple touch be felt like that? Her mind was in a daze and her cheeks flushed red. Her heart was beating so fast that she felt dizzy.

She did not even notice that he had taken out an ointment at some point until he applied it on her bruised arms.

"I promise it will never happen again." when he let go of her hands, she felt a strange coldness and emptiness. She looked at his hand biting her lips. But shook her head and concentrated on her hands instead.

He had applied a cooling ointment.

"Do not cover it up for the time being. It will be better by morning." Olivia nodded, not at all worried about the bruise. Her mind was in turmoil.

She should not feel what she was feeling. Damon was holding her yet she was entertaining such thoughts. How could she be attracted to him?

"Thank you." she whispered softly and looked away. No! Damon and her were like two banks of a river. They would stay together but never meet. She should not be foolish to let her emotions ruin her plans.

"So your marriage with the second prince is not a real one." bang! All her daze left her in a second and her body was more alert than ever as she snapped her head to look at him again.

He was smirking at her. Knowing well, the impact of his casula remark.

"Are you marrying him for the position or wealth?" he asked casually as if they were discussing weather.

"It is nonsense."

"Oh sweet Olivia, I heard everything." he chuckled. "Is it wealth or power?" he repeated in a bored tone, making her teeth grit.

She was a fool! How could she love this scrooge!

"It is for my safety!" she scowled, making his eyes narrowed.

"Safety?" He tasted the word differently, making her gulp. "From whom?"

"You!" she spat with a glare. "My family needs protection from you."

His brow rose and he laughed. She felt that he was enjoying it.

"So.. you would not marry him if you do not need that so-called safety anymore. Right?" He twisted those words on his tongue and threw them on her face with such an expression that she held her breath.

"Damon, I do not understand what you want from me these days!" Olivia was torn, she wanted to know why he was flirting with her rather than making assumptions and standing on the edge of the tip. But at the same time she was afraid of his answer. Afraid that she could not accept his truth.

"You want to be a pawn, Olivia. I want you to be my pawn." Damon leaned closer. His breath started to caress her skin and then she felt the touch of his warm hands. He had taken off his gloves at some point.

"You are so desperate to use someone and be used in exchange. But the prince is not worth it. He had so many women in his life, you deserve better." their lips were just an inch away. Her brain muddled with the slight touch. Her body felt heavier, she wanted to lean on him.

He was colluding her mind. She pushed him away and gasped for air as if she was underwater for a long time. He watched her flushed face, heaving chest with a dark glint in his eyes.

"You are i... you have lost your mind. Damon, stay away from me." she warned but all he saw was her flushed face and her struggles.

She was attracted to him too. She waited for him to refuse or argue. But Damon just shrugged and stood up to sit on the opposite side. He turned to watch out of the window. That was it?

She was worked up for nothing! She watched him open mouthed and then turned to look out of the window too but soon her eyes gave up in reality and she leaned on the window sleeping.

Damon finally turned to look at her. He returned beside her and leaned her falling and bumping head on his shoulders. He adjusted his position so that she could sleep comfortably.

"You should not be this straight forward, Olivia. I was just getting started."

In the royal palace,

"What was that!" Edward frowned when Diana entered his chamber and threw his fine glass on the ground.

Looking at her race face and burning eyes, he knew her presence was no good.

"You have hundreds of women around you, brother. So it does not matter if your wife has other lovers too. But I have kept myself for my husband. I would not accept it if he looked at others. And I am a vengeful person. I would take revenge on the person he would like. So I warn you, if Olivia leaned on Damon again, I will cut her with my own hands."
