Reborn, Its Time To Save My Family And.. My Enemy!
Chapter 144: The Air Had Changed!

Chapter 144: The Air Had Changed!

"Damn It!" Damon cursed as he ran a hand in his hair. He had gone out to calm his rage but had returned hot and needy. How he wanted to kiss her wrists until he reached her neck and then lick her there until she trembled under his touch.

He was needy for her, only her. Sarah or someone else could not fill that gap. It seems to be increasing and sucking him whole. Sleep was the last thing to come to him now. So he went to the study and started reading the files he had received from the marquis.

When the morning rays enveloped their manor in a tight embrace, the door of his study was knocked. Theodore entered when he did not hear any reply.

"My lord! Lady Olivia is waiting for you. When will you depart!" Damon paused. The line did something to him and even though he knew the woman had no interest in him, he smiled.

"I will be there in an hour. Ask the lady to check the preparations first." Theodore frowned at once not liking the reply.

"My lord..."

"As a servant, you are getting bolder every day. Must I remind you every time that I have my plans? " The man shut his mouth but the look of disapproval did not vanish from his face as he left the room to inform Olivia that she had all the rights to inspect the gifts and decide whether they were enough or not.

When he came out, the nights seemed to be in a good mood and the maids were awfully chattering today.

With twisted faces, they kept staring at Damon’s study and whispered to each other. Theo paused and glared at them but they seemed to be too lost to notice it.

He shook his head and decided to deal with them later. The thought paused him.

"Rather than a trusted aide and a strong knight, I have been working as a butler here." Why did he need to discipline maids? It was not his task!

He easily found Olivia in the garden. She was having tea with the lord and the lady but he paused when he noticed her serving the tea to her maid. Should it not be the opposite?

"Tsk! They all had forgotten their decorum." OLivia turned to look at him when he whispered another curse.

"Sir Theodore!" Olivia smiled, making him cringe.

"Lady Olivia." he offered her a bow, "the lord is busy with some filing. He had asked you to take the initiative to confirm the preparations and prepare the carriages. He will join you soon." see! Even the girl was shocked by the ridiculous order.

He felt relieved when Olivia’s eyes widened and brows furrowed. She did not understand the order as much as he did.

"Very well, then please guide the way." She stood up and whispered something to the maids before kissing the lord and the lady. If someone would see her, he would believe that she was their mother. The thought rose bile in his chest.

He hurriedly turned and started walking away. They stopped in front of the carriage and she took out every box and opened it. If it could not be opened, she would ask the maids to explain the items in detail.

As much as Theodore was pleased that someone was taking care of the house, he did not want it to be Olivia. The woman was the witch’s sister. He could not have her near the lord.

But he could ignore that she was kind and sincere and she meant well.

"You can change the design. The lord would not like designs of his empire. He would take it as a blatant flattery. But you should give something special about our empire to make it more meaningful and show our pride in our things." she went silent as if thinking about it.

"But it would take a lot of time to buy new gifts and prepare them." The maid spoke worriedly and even Theodore hesitated.

"Hmm, how about the tea we grow. I am sure we have freshly harvested tea in the kitchen. And you can bring one of my sister’s jewels and replace it with this." she pointed at the bigger ruby.

The maids looked at Theodore not sure if they should follow. When the man nodded with a hard gaze, the maids turned and left. He felt embarrassed by the blatant doubt on her authority even when he had confirmed that the duke had chosen her for the inspection.

"Cough! The maids are just confused. You should not mind them." he explained only for her to raise a brow.

"When did I mind them?"

"..." that! He had indeed never seen her complaining about anything. Now he was angry for different reasons.

"Your grace!" Olivia bowed and only then did Theodore notice what he was doing and his eyes widened and his face hardened. No! This woman did not need sympathy. Not for them at least!

"Damon nodded and smiled at her. His gaze wandered to her wrist and palm before returning to her face. Olivia was hyperaway about his intentions. For some reason, she hid her hands in her sleeves. Damon’s smile widened and he walked closer until they were just a foot away. His presence burned her to dust.

"I hope you had a good sleep, my lady." he licked his lips strangely as said so. Olivia held her breath, her head lightheaded. She wanted to gasp and fill her lunch with more air as she nodded.

Theodore’s eyes narrowed at her flushed face. A look of foreboding on his face when he turned to scowl at his master but Damon ignored her. His face had a pleased look as he opened the door of the carriage.

He shook his head when the footmen walked closer confusing the man.

"My lord, I am too short for the door." Olivia explained only for him to extend his hand and bend his feet!

"You! You want me to...?" use your thighs?
