As the crowd thinned a bit, Gu Yiyi checked her watch and saw it was already 4:50. It was too late to rush to the station.

Li Yitian noticed and knew Gu Yi was in a hurry to leave, so he handed her two hundred yuan.

"Thanks for today."

Gu Yi knew he would pay her for her work, but she didn’t expect this much, considering Ye Hao and others only got a monthly allowance of 100 yuan.

"Isn’t this a bit much? A hundred would do."

"It’s not much at all. Look at how good business was this afternoon, thanks to you. And we also have to thank Ye Qian for her help. You guys shouldn’t be so polite with me. After getting in the car, Gu Yi gave the address of the military base.

"Your husband serves in that base, huh? What a coincidence, my brother is stationed there too, they might even know each other."

Li Yitian realized the address Gu Yi gave was the same as his brother’s base.

"Then I might as well visit my brother too, my aunt keeps talking about him, wondering what he’s busy with, it’s been ages since he came home."

Neither Gu Yi nor Ye Qian asked who his brother was; even if he mentioned it, they wouldn’t know him.

"That’s quite a coincidence indeed."

"Gu Yi, thanks a bunch for today, business was so great and it seems like it’ll only get better. Could you leave me your contact information? I might have to consult you if problems arise in the future."

Li Yitian wanted to get Gu Yi’s contact information. Otherwise, once she left, it would be hard to find her again.

"Sure, I’ll write it for you when we get out. But I might come by every once in a while, you can line up your questions, and I’ll help when I visit."

Gu Yi figured if his business went well, the sauces would run out quickly. Even if they didn’t, she planned to live well with Ye Hao and would definitely visit him, maybe even follow him with the troops in the future. Li Yitian seemed like a nice person, and she thought of him as a friend. There might be cooperation chances later, so she was laying the groundwork in advance.

When she visits, she could give him some advice.

"You could put a glass display window at the front to showcase the matched outfits, but it needs to be changed frequently to keep a fresh vibe."

"Also, add more lights inside to make the shop look bright and clean, so customers feel really good upon entering."

The whole way, Gu Yi shared fashion retail tips from modern times with Li Yitian.

Li Yitian felt like Gu Yi was a heaven-sent angel to save him.

Ye Qian also shared some of her insights when shopping for clothes.

After spending a day together, the three started to feel like old friends.

Ye Qian was initially a bit reserved, but later realized Li Yitian genuinely treated them as friends, erasing all sense of distance. She gradually loosened up and chatted happily with them.

As they got out of the car, Ye Hao and Li Yifan were already waiting at the corner.

"Brother, is it really you?"

Gu Yi and Ye Qian hadn’t reacted yet when they saw Li Yitian running over to Li Yifan.

"We were just in the car, and I said my brother is in this unit too. Didn’t expect to see you right after getting out, what a coincidence."

"Why are you here? We’re just going for a meal, join us."

Li Yifan was quite happy to see him.

"I brought Gu Yi and Ye Qian back. I was just thinking on the way here to drop by and see you, it’s destiny, haha."

Afterwards, Li Yifan advised Li Yitian to drive carefully, and Ye Hao saw Gu Yi and Ye Qian back to their accommodation.

Ye Qian, being considerate, took her clothes and went to shower as soon as they arrived, leaving the space to the couple.

"Keep the money yourself. A man should always have some cash on him, plus you’re soon heading to military school; expenses are higher than in the base."

"When I graduate from military school, will you come to be with me?"

"Sure."

Happy times are always short, and before they knew it, night had fallen.

The next morning, Ye Hao borrowed a car from the unit and took Gu Yi and Ye Qian to the train station.

Ye Hao stood on the platform, watching Gu Yi and Ye Qian waving at him from the train. He really felt like buying a ticket to go home with them.

He realized it was his love for the military, the life of a soldier, that had sustained him for so long.

Beside her, Ye Qian sobbed uncontrollably.

"There there, don’t cry. Your brother will be back soon." Gu Yi kept comforting her.

After a long train journey lasting a day and a night, they finally arrived at the county seat.

They hired a car to get all their things sent to the store.

Then, they took the gifts they’d bought for their family and headed back to town.

The Gu Family Brothers had been expecting their return and were already waiting for them.

After seeing them home, the brothers left.

Gu Yi and Ye Qian ate a little and then went straight to bed.
