Reborn Heiress: Married To My Ex-Husband's Rival
Chapter 75 My Mother’s Fuck Mate!!

Chapter 75: Chapter 75 My Mother’s Fuck Mate!!

Kingsley spent the next few hours thinking about Jasmine. The accusations and the fact that there might be some ice between them now.

He couldn’t defend himself earlier. How could he when he was guilty??

The last thing he wanted to do was to lie to Jasmine. She would know about Vanessa’s presence even if he tried to hide it.

She would find out sooner or later so there was no point hiding it from her. But he couldn’t shake off the chilly look Jasmine gave him before she left for work.

He couldn’t even tell her to stay at home to recuperate fully. The stubborn woman got ready and went over to Trevor’s group to continue her work.

Kingsley was at his office too, behind his massive table but his thoughts were slipping out. He seemed to have zoned out of reality. His situation perched on his head.

’I thought you’d be different.’

Jasmine’s words echoed in his head. Those words held deeper meaning which he could easily decipher. Hurt swirled in her eyes as well as disappointment.

Something tucked at his heart the moment those words left her lips. He had hurt her.

The image of her sad face haunted him now and he couldn’t seem to find peace within himself.

"Pennies for your thoughts."

Raymond’s voice shook him out of his thoughts. Kingsley flinched as he leaned back on his chair. Surprise crossed his face before it was masked with displeasure.

"What are you doing here??"

Raymond shrugged. "I’m here because this happens to be my workplace. Or have I been sacked??"

Kingsley inclined his head to the side as he stared at Raymond who surprisingly wasn’t wearing his usual tuxedo and pants. He was wearing a white sleeve and black pants. Kingsley was quick to detect the dark cycle around his eyes—which did not deteriorate Raymond’s beauty—and Kingsley frowned.

"I remember giving you a week off." Kingsley’s eyes dropped to his table as he picked up his phone that beeped.

Raymond hummed. "I know but now is the time I need to bury myself in work. I can’t sit in a corner and mourn over my losses." He muttered the last part.

Kingsley’s eyes remained on the phone as he confirmed. "Not bad of a choice. You came at the right time.." he looked up from his phone. "Have Marshal come over to my office."

Raymond nodded. "Okay, boss." With that, Raymond left the office.

As he matched towards the technology department, a sigh of relief left his lips. Grateful Kingsley didn’t chase him out to continue his short holiday.

The last thing he wanted was a holiday. It would be unbearable because he would sink in his despair.

Not to mention what happened at Nicole’s apartment that early morning. His life was a wrecked ship now. Gone and dusted.

He came back from the wedding where he went to represent the Elm family. On getting back, he received a call that his mother’s illness had worsened.

His mother, Mrs Schnitzel was suffering from a heart disease, that was diagnosed three years ago. Before he arrived at the hospital, his mom gave up the ghost, leaving him devastated.

He directly drove into a bar after seeing that his mother had been moved to the morgue. He got wasted and the only person that seemed to be dwelling in his mind was Nicole.

At that point, he just wanted to be near her lively soul. She always had a way of cheering him up—at least, before the whole disappearance happened.—she was his go-to person who could elevate his mood, not that she was his happiness potion or mood-lifting balm but at that moment, she was all he needed.

He went over to her apartment in that stupor and maybe, he disgraced himself because, till that moment, he couldn’t remember what happened next after he landed on her couch.

One moment he was on her porch and the next, her hands were all over him. He felt himself on a soft place that felt like a couch and then, his drowsiness kicked in, pulling him into dreamland.

That early morning, he woke up to see her glaring down at him as if he were an intruder who wasn’t welcomed.

He was a freak for storming over a lady’s house in the middle of the night, uninvited. He had crashed on her sofa with his drunk ass smearing her couch with liquor.

Nicole was pissed for some reason he couldn’t figure out. At the very least, she was kind enough to offer him breakfast and a toothbrush to wash his mouth before she shoved him out of her apartment.

When he got to his apartment, he made up his mind to come over to the office. Staying in solitude wouldn’t help issues.

Raymond strode into the Technology department and spotted Marshal talking to one of his department members. Marshal was explaining something to the youngster.

"Mr Marshal.." Raymond called out. Marshal, who was an older man around his fifties, raised his head from his tablet.

Marshal nodded at Raymond before quickly giving his final instructions to the young man standing next to him. Once done, he walked towards Raymond.

"Mr Elm requested for me??" Mr Marshal’s thick voice which always sent a reverberating sound to Raymond’s back, came aloud.

Raymond hummed without looking at him. He made his way out of the office with Marshal following behind him.

Silence reigned between both men as they passed through the long hallway, heading towards Kingsley’s office.

"I heard what happened.." Marshal broke the silence and for the first time, Raymond turned to look at the older man. "I’m sorry about your mom."

Raymond averted his gaze as they both entered the elevator. "News does move so fast."

Marshal chuckled to lighten up the mood. "Like wildfire."

Raymond gave him a tight look. "No. Like your sickening hormones that makes your dick bury itself in every moving hole." His words immediately shut Marshal up.

His dislike for Marshal was blinding. Standing in the same elevator as the man who couldn’t sit his ass down but goes around to fuck his mom—was a temptation. He just wanted to strangle the older man.

Marshal cleared his throat and took a step back, giving Raymond some space. Hoping to not get killed in the elevator as it happens In Hollywood.

Raymond tried not to pay attention to his mother’s old lover. After his father died, he had no idea his mother had some ’sexual business’ with the head of technology in the same company that he works for.

Until the day he paid his mother a surprise visit at the Schnitzel’s mansion. His forty-eight-year-old mother was wrapped in the arms of that man behind him—Marshal.

Raymond gave Marshal a look above his shoulder, Marshal swallowed the lump in his throat. "How do you feel now that your fuck buddy is gone?"

"Death is a sad thing," Marshal said carefully, afraid of his neck being snapped. Who didn’t know Raymond in the Elm’s group??

Raymond was the slow-poison version of their CEO. Kingsley Elm’s ruthlessness was done both publicly and privately. He couldn’t care less about what people think of him. But Raymond Schnitzel??

Raymond was different. He does his stuff in private. Clean and precise. He dealt with those who crossed him.

Peaks for being the secretary of Kingsley Elm—Kingsley could cover everything Raymond does.

Raymond could create a mess and use Kingsley’s influence to hide it in the sand and away from prying eyes. And if Raymond was to kill Marshal in the elevator...

All it took was for Raymond to destroy the CCTV footage in the elevator and eliminate the eyewitnesses. Raymond could manipulate the public by claiming Marshal died due to heart failure.

That was how shrewd Raymond Schnitzel was. As mean as the CEO. Both were indeed compatible to work together.

"You know you’re an asshole." Raymond turned to fully face Marshal and the man took a fearful step back. Though Marshal had a few grey hairs, he was scared of Raymond.

Raymond came near, his eyes sinking in an unfriendly manner. "She was hospitalized for months but never for once did you come to visit the woman you love to bang." Even the mention of it tasted sour to him. He made a gagged sound.

"You—I wanted to but I didn’t want to provoke you."

Raymond Snapped. "You provoked me the moment you chose to go out with my mom." His calm but chilly eyes almost swallowed all of Marshal’s resolve, the very heat of his gaze crawled on Marshal’s skin, making his discomfort heightened. "You provoked me the moment you had to break things off with her after getting her to fall in love with you!"

Marshal opened his lips to defend himself but then, the elevator binged. Indicating they’ve gotten to the top floor. The executive floor.

Raymond didn’t leave the elevator that instant. Instead, he made a short promise to Marshal. "Stay careful and away from me, Old-dick-Marshal. Make sure you walk in crowd and not alone in some alleyway..." his eyes pierced into Marshal’s skin. "Else, Kingsley wouldn’t even realize how his head of technology department died an untimely death."
