Chapter 48 Stay Away From Me,Mrs Elm!

Chapter 48: Chapter 48 Stay Away From Me,Mrs Elm!

Taking advantage of the distraction, Jasmine kicked the man who Kingsley addressed as Simon on his knees and his hand loosened around her waist.

Simon growled but didn’t go after her, she used the opportunity to run towards Kingsley not minding the frown on his face.

Simon’s face was drained of all color when he saw Kingsley, the men holding Nicole quickly freed her hands.

Nicole shot them a glare before moving away from them, her chest was pushed forward in pride. Her best friend’s husband was to the rescue.

"Sir Elm..." Simon immediately turned into a chicken who lost its way. His head was lowered, gesturing to his men to also lower their heads.

Kingsley’s face was unreadable as his left hand held Jasmine close to his chest, his eyes were frozen even though his face was relaxed.

Sensing the heat and gaze around, Simon stuttered as he explained, trying to save his head. "Sir Elm, I never knew she was your wife, she is very beautiful and had that mask on that I didn’t realize who she was and—"

"Hush." Kingsley snapped, his face was clouded by anger as if he wanted to drag out Simon’s heart. His anger vibrated through his body making Jasmine melt against his body.

"You touched my wife with those hands, they will be cut off..." he said. Jasmine believed that. He wasn’t bluffing and everyone in the room knows that. That was how ruthless he can be when someone trespasses and tampers with his belongings.

Yes, Jasmine was one of those belongings he was possessive over and he used every day to prove that.

His words reverberated through the room, causing hair to rise at the back of Simon and his men’s necks. "They won’t live to touch anything else by tomorrow!" He finalized as if determining their future.

The three men who had held Nicole along with Simon, all fall to their knees making the crowds gasp in shock.

Simon Rodriquez was a famous and notorious gangster in the area, even he had to bow to Kingsley Elm.

Who exactly was this man???

Jasmine felt her pulse rising and falling rapidly, fear clotted her throat. Relief also washed over her, relieved that she was saved else,....she didn’t want to think of the outcome if Kingsley hadn’t showed up.

Yet again, Kingsley saved her from a mishap and she was more than grateful that her husband—contract husband was her knight in shining or rather, dark armor.

His jaw clenched tightly and Jasmine could feel how tense he was, was he that worried about her??

As if reading her thoughts, Kingsley pressed hard on Jasmine’s waist making her succumb to his touch fully. Forgetting they were under the eyes of so many people.

Nicole hissed before kicking the man who had grabbed her left hand and twisted it a little. "You punk." She cursed.

Raymond who was standing close to Kingsley only raised a brow at her.

’Silly.’ He thought. One moment she was in the grip of three men and trying to place herself in danger so Jasmine could be set free and now, she was boldly kicking the men’s asses.

"We’re sorry, Sir Elm. We had no idea she was your wife." The men cried out, their plea only fell on deaf ears.

Kingsley grunted lowly before scooping Jasmine into the arms. He looked over his shoulder at Raymond. "Get Jasmine’s best friend to her apartment safely."

Bringing his eyes to the men whose hands were clasped while pleading. Kingsley’s eyes chilled again. "And these men?? Trim two of their fingers from each hand."

His judgement made Jasmine squirm in fear, her eyes grew wide but she couldn’t say a word as he carried her out of the club.

Friday night wind-up party gone wrong.

The people created a path for Kingsley to pass through as he carried Jasmine out of the now-silent club.

Simon and his men got up, embarrassed by what happened, dread filled them as they ran out of the club too.

Raymond didn’t say a word, he always knew where to find them and do to them what Kingsley had instructed.

Seeing that the drama was over, everyone returned to their activity, the music booming through the club again. Some reentered the dance floor again, the drama was completely out of their minds as the night stretched on.

Nicole turned to face the man who was to carry her back to her apartment, her eyes widened behind the mask when she saw him. Her throat popped and down.

Him—

’Ray...’ she whispered in her head, confirming the man.

He was just like before but a little more mature now. His black curly hair was a little messy, giving him that lively energy...just like six years ago.

Those eyes that always held affection for her, just gazed down at her with curiosity. He was more mature now with those sharp jawlines and fine features. He was taller too. More handsome and—

Nicole sighed. Biting back her lips as Raymond kept gawking at her like she was some misery.

Raymond inclined his head to the side, his eyes scrutinizing. "You’re the lady occupying the apartment that—"

"Yes." Nicole cut his words. Her eyes gleamed, guilt crawling up her skin but she rubbed her arm, throwing that feeling of guilt back to wherever it came out from.

Raymond nodded in understanding. "Okay then. I guess I know your location." He turned his back to Nicole and said. "Let’s get you home."

Without waiting for her response, Raymond walked out of there, his back was stiff as he left the club, not checking if the lady was behind him or not.

His mind was filled with speculations and thoughts. This lady felt so familiar, her lips and hair, her body—even though this lady’s body was a lot bigger and curvy than the eighteen-year-old girl he had fallen in love with six years ago, this lady still gave him this feeling.

She stirred something up in him which he couldn’t place his fingers on. She reminds him of—her. The lady who ditched him six years ago with no explanations. The lady who made his heart bleed for years with her absence.

His body was tensed even more though the air outside was chilly and roughing his hair. He walked directly to the red car outside.

"Your car?" Raymond asked and Nicole nodded, she couldn’t say a word. The alcohol from earlier was starting to kick in and it made her throat burn and her eyes groggy.

A slight wave of dizziness hit Nicole and she missed her footing and fell forward, almost hitting her face on the floor.

A small yelp escaped her lips, she could feel the air blowing her ears as her body collapsed, almost hitting the ground when a hand caught her in midair.

The force at which Raymond’s hand grabbed her on her belly made the pile rush up to Nicole’s chest. A burst of nausea hit her, her legs went jelly in Raymond’s arms before she started puking.

She emptied her belly in the arms of the man she met barely minutes ago. Raymond’s face was unsightly as he hold Nicole, caressing her back as she vomited on the soil outside the club.

A sigh escaped his lips when she was finally done.

Nicole wiped her mouth, and she straightened her back, now conscious of her surroundings. Her face flushed red when her gaze met Raymond’s.

His face was blank as if he was staring at a sick kid. Nicole stepped away from his grip, Raymond willingly let go of her as she staggered away from him.

"I’m sorry you had to see that." Nicole apologized.

Raymond didn’t dwell on that, he stretched out his hand. "Keys," he said flatly and Nicole fished out the keys from her bag.

She handed it over to Raymond and he was back to being expressionless. He headed towards the car and they both slid into the front seats. Raymond and Nicole buckled up their seatbelts before he started the car. Tension filled the car as no one said a word, each occupied in their thoughts.

Meanwhile, Jasmine remained glued to her seat, not saying a word to Kingsley who had a deep frown on his face. He was pissed...pissed about how rebellious his wife was.

They drove into the compound, nobody said a word to each other but Jasmine could feel the anger radiating from Kingsley as he left the car and marched towards the house in annoyance.

Jasmine shut the door and quietly followed behind Kingsley as they both entered the living room.

The guilt weighed down on Jasmine, especially when she remembered how he had opened up to her about how much worrying he does on her behalf. How her sickness has made him worried and he also told her not to make him worry about her too much.

But she failed him and went to the club where she got into trouble and Kingsley had to clear up the troubles for her and saved her ass.

Jasmine sighed as she said softly behind him. "Hey, I’m sorry okay??, can you—" her words got stuck in her throat when Kingsley turned to face her.

His sharp glare struck a cord in her spine. That look could kill. That particular glare was just like the one he gave her the other day when she came home late.

Kingsley’s eyes chilled, his fists balled at his sides as he glared daggers at her as if wanting to twist her neck. That deadly look on his face made Jasmine halt, her breathing paused in trepidation.

"It will do you a lot more good if you stay a hundred feet away from me tonight, Dear Mrs Elm!" He said, sarcastically but his threats held meaning. He was no longer the man who pleaded for her to allow him stay in her room or the man who made sure to make her breakfast each morning,he was no longer the man who held her close to his chest last night, rocking her to sleep.

Again, he wasn’t bluffing. He could hurt her if he wanted to, so now, he was taking the safety measures. Shutting her out with those cold words and tight glare. Jasmine shuddered. For the first time since she got married to him, she felt raw fear.
