Chapter 40: Chapter 40 Another Feud!!

Before she could ask, that cold expression left his face almost immediately As if she was hallucinating.

Jasmine blinked twice only to see him smiling a little at her, his eyes deepened but they glinted.

"You’re back.." he acknowledged, his smile seemed forced of some sort. Jasmine couldn’t figure out what was missing so she just shrugged it off.

Clearing her throat, she said afterward. "Yeah, I got you something." She fished out the bag and handed it to Kingsley.

Kingsley knitted his brows in a small frown as he took the bag, a small grin soon covered his face, his lips twitching and forming into an arc at the side. "I love this blue more. Which do you think I should wear for the party?" He inquired, his hands holding onto the clips.

Jasmine let out a deep breath, satisfied by his reaction. She thought of many ways of how he was going to frown and reject the gifts—

"I think you should go with your choice," Jasmine said flatly.

Kingsley also inspected the wristwatch before returning everything into the bag. "Thank you for taking out time to get these for me." He appreciated it with a cool face.

Jasmine nodded before turning around, taking that as her cue to leave since there was nothing more to talk about.

"Oh—I want to discuss something with you," Kingsley called out to her from behind, making her pause.

Jasmine turned to face him again, waiting for him to speak up. Kingsley pursed his lips a little before saying. "About last night, thank you for allowing me to sleep in your room. But something happened..."

Jasmine took a step closer, slightly curious about what happened during his stay in her room.

Kingsley let a little silence roll by before breaking the ice. "I...umm..." he stretched out his words, ending it abruptly. He fought within himself, contemplating whether to let the cat out of the bag or not.

"You what..??" Jasmine furrowed her brows, curious as can never be. She was running out of patience.

"I depend on some anti-anxiety drugs and sleeping pills so I can sleep but sometimes, it flares up pretty bad and...." He trailed off again, studying Jasmine’s reaction but surprisingly, she didn’t look surprised at all.

He didn’t know why he was explaining all this to her but he knew he had to convince her so she could allow him stay close to her. All for his health.

"I know, I’ve heard you cry in the middle of the night before. That’s no news." Jasmine, yet again, shrugged, her words coming off dry.

Kingsley’s face fell a little, slightly embarrassed that she had to hear that. He chewed on his lower lip before saying again. "Oh well. Okay then. So, last night I didn’t get to take the drugs but slept well..."

Jasmine hummed. "That’s good news, maybe you’re getting better." She commented, still a little bit confused as to why he was telling her all that. She has no business whatsoever with what goes on with him.

"The thing is that it happened like that because I was with you, sleeping in your room..." he broke the shell. Jasmine’s eyes widened a little before it was replaced with a snarl.

Kingsley immediately started to correct his statement. Thinking that probably came out too overwhelming and powerful. "Hey, hey...not what you’re thinking but I discussed it with my doctor, Doctor park said it probably happened like that because I had a change of environment and also, he advised that I remain in that environment till he can figure out what causes this whole fluctuation."

Jasmine shook her head. "Long story cut short, you want to keep sleeping in my room?? My bed??" She gushed out in panic, looking alarmed. Her eyes were almost bulging out of their sockets in shock.

Kingsley sighed deeply before nodding. Just immediately, Jasmine countered." We can’t share a room, Sir." She dropped all intimacy, being more formal with her words. "Mr Elm, let’s stick to the contract, we can’t share a room because I won’t be comfortable."

A deep frown surfaced on Kingsley’s face as he grunted. "I’m never gonna touch you if that’s what you’re scared of. Don’t get too ahead of yourself, you can’t earn a second glance from me talk more of being able to get me horny.!" He snapped right back at her.

Jasmine got angry even more, her nostrils flared up. "You’re still not going to share a room with me, period!" She said lastly before storming off, heading to her room upstairs.

Kingsley felt his fists itching to slam on something, to destroy something. Jasmine was super annoying, she always knows how to get him super riled up!

"Fuck." Kingsley cursed under his breath, this wasn’t how he planned for the conversation to go but Jasmine just knew how to go against the script. He never anticipated the conversation to lead to a fight.

A sigh escaped his lips, his hands found their way to his head as he lowered his head and bent his back.

’I need to look for another way to convince her.’ He thought to himself, deep inside,he hoped for his PTSD to come to an end but it seemed endless to him. Every little hope was something he held on to.

Yesterday was too peaceful for him and he loved the unfamiliar feelings, something he had missed for a long time now—-a good sleep without worries or being hunted by memories.

Meanwhile, Upstairs, Jasmine was breathing out fire as she inserted her keys and opened the door.

She kept grumbling as she twisted the door knobs. "Who the hell does he think he is?? I don’t deserve a second glance?? Fuck him!" She pushed the door a little too hard and it opened forcefully.

She matched into her room and the first thing she saw was the box on her bed. She remembers not leaving anything on the bed.

Curiosity was far from her, anger blinded her and she slammed her door after her, she threw her bag on the table before taking off her shoes.

"Here I wasted money to get him gifts to settle the feud between us from early this morning, only to come back home to fight with him again. Annoying!" Jasmine fidgeted with her shoes before she successfully took them off and threw them in on the shoe ranks.

Her eyes caught the box on the bed again and she placed a hand on her hips, staring at it.

It was a white box, it looked a little too familiar but she didn’t know where she had seen it before.

"Let’s see..." Jasmine stretched, her face still blank as she walked close to the box and started to tear off the seal.

She turned it around, then her eyes spotted the logo on the top, it was from J Tim’s fashion company.

"Oh my God..." Jasmine’s eyes widened. Another gift??

She quickly unboxed the box and gasped when she saw the Diamond jewelry box inside it.

Holding onto it like a priceless jade, Jasmine brought the Diamond bracelets, earrings, and necklaces to inspect them.

"They’re so beautiful.." she said softly, her eyes growing soft when she saw the Diamond sparkling.

She had all types of Diamond accessories in her collections but this one was extraordinarily expensive and beautiful as if it was handmade by an Angel.

Jasmine rampaged the whole box, checking the other stuff inside, she saw a fancy purse, heels, hair pins, and many other female wares.

After placing them on her bed, she just stood there, looking at them with a small smile tucked on her face.

’Should I still be angry at him??’ She mused in her head. He got her gifts, now she didn’t know if to continue being mad at him for what he said.

"Oh well...." She threw the thoughts to the back of her head and started to prepare for the party.

Jasmine took a warm bath, she sat in front of her mirror to doll herself up. It took a few more minutes before she was done curling her hair.

A smile spread on her face, satisfied with the outcome. After that, she focused on her light makeup.

After makeup, she slid into the body-fitted blue gown Kingsley ordered from J tim, it accentuated all of her curves, and she looked like a goddess in the Rich blue material.

Jasmine ogled at herself in the mirror for a little while, satisfied with herself. The jewelry was the cherry on top of the cake—the final touch.

She grabbed her black purse and sophisticatedly stepped out of her room like a water goddess coming out of her lair.

She heard sounds from downstairs and she sucked in a deep breath, thinking about how she was going to face Kingsley after that fight.

Her hands wrapped tightly around the purse as she reached the stairs, she looked down to see Kingsley standing there with Raymond. The two of them were so engrossed in their conversation that they didn’t notice her on time.

Jasmine’s eyes fed on Kingsley who was wearing a matching outfit consisting of a pale blue tuxedo and pants, a white sleeve underneath. His hair was curled a little on the top.

A smile was on Jasmine’s face when she saw the blue clip on his sleeve. He used it.

Sighing, Jasmine started to descend the stairs, her shoes clicking on the tiled stairs which immediately caught the attention of the men talking there.

Kingsley’s ears perked up when he heard the clicking of heels, his eyes subconsciously went up to the stairs and he saw her....it seemed the world took a pause and made a screenshot of the beauty coming down like an Angel of light. She was too breathtaking that he somehow forgot how to breathe.
