Reborn Heiress: Married To My Ex-Husband's Rival -
Chapter 32 Emerald Eyes
Chapter 32: Chapter 32 Emerald Eyes
Anger bubbled in Jasmine’s veins as she sat there, painstakingly watching her father paint Jack in the best light ever in public.
Jasmine clutched her bag as she watched her father who was barely three feet away from her.
Jasmine, Mr Moore and Jack, and several other major shareholders were on the podium now, she could see Jack’s broad smile from a distance and it made her want to rip off that smile on his face.
He deserves nothing but pain but here her father was, being interviewed by a particular female journalist.
"Mr Trevor, according to news articles published earlier this week, it shows evidence of Mr. Raven threatening the heiress of the Trevor’s family, Your daughter,Now Mrs. Elm. Why go ahead with this arrangement with a man who wishes to harm Mrs Elm??"
Jasmine’s jaw clenched at that question, her eyes narrowed at her father, seeking answers but to her dismay, her father just laughed it off.
"Those are mere articles and from what we all know, it was posted by an anonymous journalist, we are not certain if for sure Mr Raven was the one behind the texts." Mr Trevor handled the journalist’s questions with a small smile on his face.
Jasmine’s eyes grew red and she had to lower her head a little to suck in a deep breath to control the fuming rage in her.
Another journalist piped in. "Mr Trevor, you don’t think it will be awkward working with a man ditched by your daughter on their wedding day??"
Mr Trevor shrugged nonchalantly. "They are adults, I’m a businessman who is always ready to expand his business and take it to the next level."
Jasmine stared at her father in awe. ’So, this is what all this means?? He wasn’t being a father at the moment but a businessman!!’ Her thoughts hurt her too as she stared with red eyes.
The flashes of camera on their faces made Jasmine start to feel sick in the pit of her belly. She wished to get out of there soon.
"Mr Raven, how does this new partnership influence how you view Trevor’s family??? Will your work be affected by the past incidents with Mrs Elm??" A male journalist turned to face Jack who had been silent since the beginning.
Every other journalist concentrated on him as they waited for responses.
That cheeky smile gland his face again as he reported back. "Just like Mr Trevor, I am a businessman and nothing else like the past events matters to me. Working with Trevor’s group is a great leap for my company so I will do my best to make sure it is a successful deal for both companies."
Many more questions and answering sections followed but Jasmine has had enough. She saw that everyone was too busy interviewing both men, and she found a way to escape the tense atmosphere.
She needed a breather and it was too stuffy in there with her emotions flowing past its bank.
It wasn’t healthy remaining there so she exited the conference room and dashed out of the top floor, heading towards the elevator. She was clocking off work for the day, she was fed up with her father’s behavior towards her feelings lately.
As she left, she could clearly hear her father’s cheering voice as he discussed with the people there, answering all questions thrown at him. He must be so proud of this new partnership with the Raven’s Group.
This was the height of it! He just had to partner with the man who killed her in her previous life, making sure they were close in the same working space. As a team leader, she would have to work with Jack and that was the irritating part.
Working with Lorraine who dumped her years ago was already a pain, now...Jack is here???
Jack must be so pleased about joining the company he always wanted to covert. She remembered vividly when Jack said he wanted to take control of her father’s wealth. His aim was to get the Trevor’s group but Jasmine would not let that happen.
"I’m done here." She cursed while hitting hard on the elevator button, going to the lobby area. She just hoped her father doesn’t get hurt by Jack who was playing the mind games.
Jasmine checked her phone and it was almost noon, time to go get her best friend and goddaughter from the airport. Her happiness pills were finally coming to LA.

"Boss Elm, you think this is a good idea??" Raymond asked Kingsley who was walking in a hurried footsteps towards the Airport entrance.
Kingsley shot him a cold look while stopping in his tracks. "Raymond, I can’t stand that asshole being in this country. I already contacted my agent and we will get a ticket to fly Lorraine out of the country!"
Raymond frowned deeply. "That’s too much. You can’t just fly a full-grown man out of the country."
His banter made Kingsley glare heavily at him, harder than before. "I will have to make him leave either by words or by actions." With that, he stormed off in anger.
Raymond just stood dumbfounded, he couldn’t forget the state they left Lorraine earlier. After the beating section, Kingsley instructed some of his men to go drop Lorraine off at his apartment as if nothing happened.
’Poor man must be suffering from severe body ache.’ Raymond thought before he suddenly snapped out of his daze. Kingsley has left him behind.
He quickly made to go find Kingsley when he held a sudden tight grip on his pants.
Raymond lowered his gaze to see only to find a small cute girl whose blonde hair was tied with ribbons on both sides, she was staring at him with those familiar emerald eyes, making him wonder where he had seen those eyes before.
"Uncle, can you please take me to my mom??" She made those puppy eyes that Raymond finds so hard to resist. He cursed under his breath because of the inconvenience.
Lowering to her height, Raymond calmly asked. "Little girl, what’s your name?"
A smile spread across her face as she beamed. "My name is Hailey."
Raymond hummed before answering. "Okay, so Hailey, here’s what we’re gonna do. I’m going to take you to the lost and found department where your mom can easily find you, okay?"
Heaven knows he just wanted to get rid of this little girl and go find his boss. He was sure as hell that his monthly bonuses were at risk with each passing moment.
Luckily enough, the girl wasn’t troublesome, she just nodded and let him hold her hand as they headed toward the department.
A bored look was on Raymond’s face as they strolled to the place, but his mind didn’t fail to wonder how delicate the girl’s hand was, so smooth and warm.
He looked down at her while she flashed him that same wide smile as if they were....best friends.
’Ridiculous.’ Raymond thought before averting his gaze again, blocking off the image of those emerald eyes.
"We’re here," Raymond informed her before he started to address the two ladies in the lost and found department, recounting how he met this girl.
The little girl, Hailey was asked a series of questions which bored Raymond even more. After all was done, Hailey was kept in their custody.
"Thank you so much, uncle." Hailey waved at Raymond who flashed her a forced smile. Just then, his phone started to ring and a string of curses left his mouth when he saw that it was Kingsley calling.
He hurried out of there, and almost immediately a lady ran past him, brushing her shoulders with his but because they were both in a hurry, they didn’t bother to apologize as they went separate ways.
Raymond massaged the place the lady’s strong shoulder had hit as he picked up the call while leaving.
On the other hand, Nicole threw her luggage on the floor as she cried out. "Oh Goodness Gracious, Hailey Stacy Morgan!!" Calling out her daughter’s full name in a panic. "Where’d you run off to??"
"Madam, is this your daughter??" One of the ladies asked and Nicole nodded, her above-the-shoulder blonde hair bounced along.
They asked her a few more questions and Hailey also confirmed that the angry-looking woman who was sweating profusely was her mom. Their similar emerald-colored eyes were also another testament to their relationship.
Finally claiming her daughter, Nicole used the first three minutes to lecture her but it was cut short when Hailey spotted the uncle from earlier and another man walking out of a room in a hurry.
She excitedly pointed behind her mom. "Mom, look at the uncle who helped me earlier."
Nicole furrowed her brows before turning around to see but the last man just happened to have entered the front seat but from the back of his head...
Nicole’s eyes sank. ’Why does he look exactly like...Him??’
