Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Watch Your Back!!

"I work for my dad." Jasmine quickly tried to save herself but Kingsley had anticipated that reply.

With a straight face, kingsley said."I’ll have Raymond tell your father you won’t be coming tomorrow. We have several agendas tomorrow so go to bed early and wake up early." He told her dismissively.

Jasmine sighed. "What agendas?" She questioned. "At least, I need to know."

Kingsley stared at her for a while before opening his lips to respond."We have to meet with a major shareholder at Jack’s company tomorrow. Don’t you want revenge on him??" His eyes scanned her face, trying to pick up her emotions.

As he had expected, her eyes immediately lit up in excitement, and a smile soon stretched on her face as she nodded amidst giggles. "I like the sound of that."

Kingsley nodded without saying anything. Now, he was more than curious about Jasmine’s change of heart. She didn’t even feel any remorse towards the man she had loved all her life. She was ready to go to any length to destroy Jack—the main reason she had agreed to marry him.

"Go to bed now." He said, Jasmine nodded before gazing around the room and casually told him.

"You should try to lighten up your room as it can also be a reflection of one’s soul. You shouldn’t remain in the dark for too long." Her words came out casually but it made Kingsley’s eyes deepened.

Before he could complain, she had already exited the room, leaving just her scent behind.

"What does she mean by that?" Kingsley mumbled to himself, his eyes wandering around his room.

He remained sitting on the bed, his back was against the headboard, and the moonlight on him was almost showing his soul—just like Jasmine had said earlier.

His broken soul was clouded with past trauma, pain, insecurities, and—anxiety. One that molded him into someone with no feelings.

His hair was still covering his face, shielding his eyes. His shirtless body turned almost silver due to the moonlight on his skin.

Before letting his thoughts wander, Kingsley’s phone vibrated and he grabbed the phone, connecting the call before placing it on his ear. "Got the info?" He questioned.

"Yes sir." A man’s voice said from the other hand. "Jack was seen on several occasions hanging out with another woman we couldn’t get a glimpse of her face since she was almost moving around with masks. Maybe, she’s a celebrity."

Kingsley’s brows joined. "Another woman?"

"Yes sir. This could be the reason Mrs Elm ditched him. She probably found out about his infidelity." The man reported and Kingsley spaced out for a brief moment.

His eyes narrowed, seemingly lost in thoughts. The man’s voice resounded again. "Sir, are you there?" His question snapped Kingsley out of his reverie.

Kingsley cleared his throat."I want you to keep digging. Cheating is not enough reason for her sudden bitter reactions and feelings towards him. She loved him so very much that she can turn a blind eye to his bullshit." He analyzed.

His eyes turned bone-chilling before adding. "I think there is more to what we know. Jasmine is a sensible woman and I’m sure she’s hiding something. For now, keep investigating." With that said, he ended the call.

Kingsley grumbled in a low tone. "What are your motives, Jasmine Trevor??" His suspectful eyes looked out of the window, staring at the bright stars in the sky.

Jasmine jumped on her bed, her fingers started typing away as she searched for the latest news online.

She was placed in a good mood by what kingsley had said. The thought of biting Jack that hard was making Jasmine grin in excitement as she searched for the news she was looking for.

Just to her expectations, she saw the headlines in the daily report news.

#TrevorHeiressDanger: Ex Threatens Jasmine Trevor

#JackRaven, an obsessed ex-threatens Mrs Elm who ditched him.

#KingsleyElm’sWife: sent a death threat by her ex-fiancé, Jack Raven,CEO of Raven Corp.

The more Jasmine read about the citizens comments, The more her smile broadened.

The news of his leaked sex tapes was still trending and now the text messages. Jack would probably stay in his house for the rest of his life.

Almost immediately, her phone rang and the broad smile on her face increased when she saw that it was the reporter she sent the messages from Jack to.

"Hello, Mrs Tim," Jasmine said the moment she connected the call.

Mrs Tim’s voice came from the other end. "Hello, Mrs Elm. I want to say a big thank you for the headlines. Please remember to always give me a call when something comes up again."

Jasmine smirked. "Sure, you will keep having premium topics from me. Thanks for such spicy headlines and how you made the audience see that the texts came from Mr Raven."

"That’s my job, ma’am. Thank you once again." Mrs Tim was very respectful with her speech.

They exchanged pleasantries before they ended the call. With that settled, Jasmine dropped her phone and covered herself with her quilt, a pleasant smile graced herself as she slept off.

Tomorrow was another day to worry about.

In another part of LA, in a mini apartment that was devoid of lighting. It was surrounded by flowers that blocked the entrance—more like a hideout because of how far it was from the eyes of people. Hidden in a forest area.

Shattering of broken glasses echoed in the littered room that was filled with broken bottles, pieces of furniture, and vases. The room had just a dim light, it was a complete mess just like the person sitting on the cold ground, resting his back on the wall.

Jack Raven’s assistant was trembling In the middle of the room, her legs about to pass out in fear. She couldn’t even look at Jack who was a mess himself, her head was lowered as she clutched her tablet firmly.

Jack scoffed from where he was sitting on the ground, his eyes were bright red, the sweat on his face glued to his hair, and he was looking restless as he spoke. "How many clients have we lost so far?" He asked, biting on his thumb, his eyes gazing into space.

The assistant stammered. "Our overseas client pulled out this morning, making them four important clients that canceled contracts with the Raven’s Corp."

Jack lowered his head."What else?" He said but his voice came out soggy as if he was about to cry.

The lady pressed her lips together, trying to select her words carefully. "Stars media saw the anonymous texts you sent to Mrs Elm, the news went viral and it has affected our stock prices in the market as the Netizens now see you as a dangerous man who can kill someone. I got information that some of the shareholders are starting to revolt against you."

Jack cupped his head in his hands, he kept shaking terribly as he cursed. "This is all Jasmine’s fault." He kept chanting those words, his eyes growing hot as tears poured down his face. "This is all of her fault."

The assistant remained silent as she watched him carefully, scared of him throwing another glass at her again.

"What do I do? What do I do now?? What??" Jack growled as he kicked the edge of the bed and it made a faint sound, his anger rolled up.

When he didn’t get a response from his assistant, Jack glared at her as he gritted out."Prepare ways to get me out of here. Before I lose everything completely, I would love to make sure Jasmine has a taste of her own medicine." His eyes narrowed dangerously as his teeth ground against each other as if making a sacred promise to himself which he would go to any length to fulfill."I will ruin you, Jasmine. Watch your back!"
