Chapter 17: Chapter 17 You Know Nothing About Me!
Jasmine stiffly followed behind Kingsley as they walked into the living room.
The cold condition in the living room made Jasmine shiver a little. She immediately guessed that kingsley was the one behind it.
"Come with me." With his back still facing her, Kingsley instructed before walking upstairs, his hands were behind him. He was wearing a Grey T-shirt and black pants.
Jasmine was more than nervous. She has broken his rule which was clearly visible in the contract. Kingsley must be pissed because she also missed dinner with his grandpa.
’What would happen now??’ Jasmine questioned in her head as she followed Kingsley upstairs.
Many thoughts ran through her head, fear and anticipation mixed up but in all, she was curious about this "punishment". From the way he was frowning, he must have a lot installed for her.
Kingsley pushed open his bedroom door with no expression on his face, he began."Get in."
Hearing that, Jasmine pressed her lips together, her eyes bulging out of their sockets in shock. "This is your.."
Kingsley coldly cut in on her words. "You are testing my patience." He said curtly and Jasmine clasped her both hands together as she entered the always-dim room.
Her footsteps were slow as she entered, unsure of what to do next.
Kingsley got in too before bolting the door, the shutting of the door made Jasmine seize her breath.
’What is he doing?’ She screamed in her head.
In the dim room where the moonlight spread into the room as if it were channeled directly into his room, giving it a serene feeling.
Jasmine couldn’t even see the rest part of the room because of how dim it was. Kingsley never slept with lights on....she wondered if he had lights in the room.
Kingsley came towards her, making her stiffened a little. He leaned closer to her, his breathing fanning her neck and she subconsciously shuddered, her ears turning red.
He said slowly. "Do you know how annoying you are??" After asking, he leaned back and walked towards a small couch at the end of the wall, leaving Jasmine stunned.
He nonchalantly took off his shirt, revealing his well toned body.
Jasmine felt lost for a moment, her eyes remained on his body as he gracefully stripped. She didn’t know when her lips pried open, leaving her mouth slightly open as if drooling.
Kingsley’s muscles flexed with each movement as if he were purposely doing it. He dropped the shirt on the couch and he was left with his black pants.
Jasmine was left speechless as her eyes remained locked on his body. His broad shoulders, abs, and biceps were just eye-appealing and inviting.
"Pennies for your thoughts," Kingsley mentioned the moment he turned to face her.
Jasmine’s face turned red like a tomato, she quickly averted her gaze. Her eyes wandered everywhere except his face, too embarrassed to look at him.
A light chuckle came from Kingsley as he walked past her. He sat on the edge of his bed, his back was resting on the headboard. One leg was spread on the edge while the other was bent, and his hair fell on his face, hiding his eyes, with that posture, the moonlight on him...he gave off the feeling of a male vampire from the Middle Ages.
Jasmine swallowed hard, fighting the urge to stare which she failed to accomplish. She grumbled. "I’m sorry for breaking your rule four and missing curfew time." Her eyes were only staring at his feet, unable to look at him in the face.
Kingsley kept quiet For a while as he stared at her lone figure in the dim room, looking docile.
"You think this is about the curfew you’ve missed twice?" He asked, his sharp eyes looking at her.
Jasmine shifted in her standing position as she questioned. "It isn’t about that?" She raised her head to look at him this time around. Confusion smeared on her face as she stared at him with probing eyes.
Kingsley scoffed at her, he thought she was trying to play dumb. "You don’t know what you did?" He was starting to get irritated.
Jasmine skeptically shook her head slowly, seemingly absentmindedly as if trying to think of what other offense she did. "I don’t know." She replied after some while.
Kingsley dropped both of his legs on the cold floor, leaning closer as he sat there. "You seem to like headlines a lot." He uttered.
Jasmine raised a brow, confused by what he meant by that. "What do—"
Kingsley hastily cut her off. " Are you aware of the reporters trailing you every single day, looking for a chance to interview you?"
His question made Jasmine pause in her statement. Her eyes widened a little in shock but kingsley continued.
He gritted out. "What if you were seen by those reporters with that man?? Another headline will be made, probably, hashtags L. A monster’s newly wedded wife caught on camera with another man in the Trevor’s group’s garage." The way he said it made Jasmine’s face fall. He was annoyed, his eyes boring a hole in Jasmine as if he was about to snap her neck from her body.
For some reason, the way he addressed himself as a monster tucked at Jasmine’s heart, and her lips moved on their own before she could comprehend it. "You’re not a monster." She said, a low gasp escaped her lips when she heard what she had said but she didn’t take her words back.
Meanwhile, a look of shock crossed Kingsley’s face as he widened his eyes a little but almost immediately, his face chilled again as he growled softly. "You don’t know anything about me." He disregarded her words.
Jasmine pursed her lips. "Maybe." She didn’t want to push it.
Kingsley bit his inner cheek, her words still resounding in his head, he was stunned by her words but he knew better than to believe what she said. He thought disdainfully in his head. ’ignorant woman.’
"I do not know the relationship you have with him but if you must know, In the contract, it says no other relationship can be formed while we’re still in the course of our fake marriage." Kingsley reminded her curtly and Jasmine nodded.
"Lorraine is just a co-worker who was newly assigned to the company." She explained and Kingsley stared at her for a while, he contemplated between believing her words or not.
When he saw how straight her face was, she didn’t seem like she was lying. He sighed a little but tried to mask his relief by saying."Still doesn’t mean you won’t be punished for missing curfew." He said before resting his back on the headboard again.
Jasmine’s shoulders slumped and Kingsley retorted. "As your punishment, you will have to comply with everything I tell you for the next two days." He said and Jasmine burst out in surprise.
"What? Isn’t that manipulative?" She didn’t know when she countered his words, making him frown deeply.
His eyes chilled. "Those are my rules you broke twice. You already signed the contract, there’s no turning back now." He reminded her and Jasmine swallowed hard, swallowing back all the tons of complaints she had.
Inwardly cursing him but she nodded her head in agreement. Her face was stiff in annoyance.
With an air of authority, Kingsley coolly said, seizing control."Your punishment will officially start tomorrow because you will have to accompany me to the Elm group as my assistant. You will work for me for the whole day."
Jasmine’s face fell, too stunned to even complain for the next few minutes. Her eyes remained on the body of the man who was staring back at her. "You—" she started but he cut off her words again.
"You are to obey not complain, Jasmine Trevor Elm." He said her full name, his chilly eyes sending warning signals across to her.
