Chapter 107: Chapter 107 We’re Safe
"Bosss, we’re under an attack. The people intruding are not just some other people. Some Elite members team came too."
Riley snapped his head towards the guard, his expression turned cold. "How did the other members know what I have been doing??"
The man couldn’t reply. A loud bang echoed again and Jasmine flinched in dread. She wasn’t sure what their fates were.
Mr Riley snarled. "Since the elite members have turned their backs on me. Eliminate all of them."
"Yes,Boss."
The man left in a hurry. Mr Riley walked towards Kingsley. Kingsley scoffed. "Panicking?? You should have known better. If there’s one thing I know is that Elite fraternity don’t aim for people who don’t threaten them. I and Jasmine did nothing to them but you misused your powers and went behind their backs to take us down. Too bad, they’ve been informed."
A loud smack followed, turning Kingsley’s face to the other side. Mr Riley’s anger boiled over as he gave Kingsley a punch on his chest,Kingsley coughed out a mouthful of blood.
"Fine. They won’t support this but it doesn’t matter to me. The position as leader is none of my business. I only joined because I wanted the power to ruin you and the Elm family." Mr Riley took a step back and filmed Kingsley’s bloodied form and sent it to Granpa Elm. "And guess what?? Your old man might die today from a panic attack when he sees how brutally beaten you are."
Kingsley could barely concentrate on his words as he coughed out more blood. His eyes were bloodshot and his ears were flooded with only the silent cries from Jasmine.
His insides tore. His heart bled as some sort of pain wrapped around him. He could feel his breathing slowing down, his head turned fuzzy.
"And I promise you, I will kill you before your reinforcements gets to me." Mr Riley grabbed a gun from the table, aiming it at Kingsley.
Jasmine yelled. Her tears flooded her face as she begged, cried and silently prayed for intervention.
Kingsley was too battered and exhausted to know what else might happen. His body went limp but the chain still kept him standing somehow, his head was lowered.
Jasmine screamed louder, her voice cracking. "Please! Don’t do this! He’s not the enemy!"
Mr Riley didn’t even flinch. His finger hovered over the trigger. His eyes were empty, like a man with nothing left to lose.
"I said quiet," he growled.
Jasmine shook in the wheelchair, her hands trembled. "If you do this... there’s no going back."
Kingsley let out a faint breath. His body swayed forward as blood continued to drip from his mouth. He whispered something.
"What did you say? Was that your last wish?? " Mr Riley asked.
Kingsley slowly lifted his head, his eyes were dull but still burning with hatred. "You already... lost."
Mr Riley frowned.
Just then, a sharp sound echoed from behind the wall like a lock breaking. Gunshots echoed and footsteps followed.
Riley turned fast, gun still in hand. "What was that?"
His men started to scurry around the place as they all head to the door to check.
Jasmine’s eyes widened. "They’re here."
Before Riley could move, the back door exploded open. Smoke filled the room as a bunch of people entered the room.
The real fight began. They all engaged in exchange of bullets.
"Drop your weapon! Hands in the air!"
Riley spun around, trying to grab Jasmine as a shield, but she pushed her wheelchair backward, it rolled freely against the dusty floor.
"No!" Riley roared in anger, he missed the opportunity to grab Jasmine.
A shot rang out.
Riley fell to the ground, the gun slipping from his hand. He clutched his shoulder as his face twisted in pain and fury. His cries filled the air when he was shot in the leg too.
The real elite guards who abide to rules and not follow Mr Riley’s footsteps swarmed in.
Raymond and few other reinforcements stormed the place. One of the Trevor’s guard rushed towards Jasmine and loosen the strap around her hands while another tried to defuse the bomb.
"We’ve got him!" someone shouted as they grabbed Mr Riley by the collar and landed a punch on him. The big man cursed. "I’ve always known you were fishy right from day one." Clearly, he hated Riley’s guts.
Raymond wouldn’t stop rushing into the rooms, looking for Nicole.
Jasmine rushed towards Kingsley and held him tight, crying harder especially seeing him in such a state. "Stay with me, okay? They’re here now. You’re safe."
Kingsley blinked slowly as a small and tired smile touched his lips. "Told you... he already lost." With that said, his head dropped on her shoulder. His eyes closed involuntarily, his body gave in to the exhaustion.
Meanwhile, Raymond saw Nicole in the empty room and his heart almost stopped.
He rushed forward without thinking. "Nicole!"
She turned weakly, her eyes filled with tears. Raymond broke the lock on the chains holding her before he pulled her into his arms.
"I’m here," he whispered, holding her close. "You’re safe now. I got you."
Nicole burst into tears. Her hands clung to his shirt as she sobbed into his chest. "I thought I’d die here," she said.
He pulled back for a moment, looked into her face, then kissed her hard like he needed to feel she was real.
Nicole kissed him back with the same desperate need, their tongues fighting against each other’s in a desperate need for each other.
Raymond wrapped his arms around her waist as he continued to explore her mouth, sucking and licking her lips like they were his perfect addiction.
When he finally pulled away, tears were already running down his face which he quickly wiped off with his sleeve. "I thought I was too late."
"You came," Nicole said with a bitter smile. "That’s all that matters. You came."
She wiped his tears and asked. "What about Jasmine??"
"She’s safe. I think Kingsley is who we should be worried about but for now, we need to leave." He ushered her out but she looked around the filthy room, then her eyes stopped on the small crib in the corner.
"Jasmine’s baby," she whispered and rushed over. The baby was wrapped in clothes, whimpering softly. Nicole picked her up and rocked her gently.
"She’s so small," she whispered. "How could they leave her like this?"
Raymond stood behind her. "Riley’s people had no soul. No heart."
Nicole turned to face him. "Why would he do this? To Jasmine? To me? To all of us?"
"He is Kingsley’s uncle. Bastard son of Greg Elm. Who would have thought." Raymond answered as he led Nicole out of the room while she continued rocking the infant until the baby dozed off again.
Nicole exhaled sharply. Her eyes scanning the place. Jasmine and Kingsley were already taken out. Just a few officers checking the scene and sealing the place.
Raymond nodded at the Elm security personnels. He somehow locked gazes with Marshal and his smile dropped. Marshal didn’t say a word.
Nicole noticed. They both walked out of the warehouse, the cold air hit their skin. "What was the look about??"
Raymond muttered. "He was fucking my mom."
Nicole’s expression shifted. Her whole body changed somehow but Raymond failed to notice cause he was staring ahead where their various cars were parked. Lights flickered everywhere from the cars.
"Up until she died few weeks ago."
Nicole stopped in her track. Raymond furrowed his brows. "Why?"
Nicole’s face had somehow gone pale. "Your mom is dead??"
Raymond sighed. His shoulders became slightly tense. "The day I came to your apartment drunk and passed the night on your couch. That was the day she died."
