Reborn As Noble -
Chapter 601 - 601: A Dream of Goodbye ( 601 )
That night.
The quiet hum of wind outside the stronghold wall blended with the soft rhythm of breath in the room.
Javier stirred gently from his sleep, his eyes adjusting to the dim light of the mana lamp on the wall.
To his right—Liana.
Peacefully asleep, her hair slightly messy.
Javier smiled and leaned in closer, brushing his lips softly against hers.
Liana stirred. Her eyes blinked open halfway, catching the tail end of the kiss.
"Young master…" she whispered, her voice drowsy and sweet.
Turning his head, he looked to his left—Gloria.
Serene as always, even in sleep. Her arms were already wrapped loosely around his side, her face calm and composed. Javier leaned in and kissed her, just as gently.
Gloria's eyelids fluttered, her arms pulling him closer in response.
"I missed you, young master," she murmured, still half-asleep, a quiet warmth in her voice.
Then, he felt the steady warmth on his lap. He looked down.
Felicia, resting her head on his thigh, curled up like a relaxed cat, still breathing calmly in her slumber.
Javier felt happy. Really happy.
After all the battles, the missions, the loneliness—Liana and Gloria were finally here by his side again.
And now… Felicia too.
A calm, satisfied grin curled on his lips.
"Ehehe~ feels good to have my favorite girls here."
He gently pulled Liana and Gloria closer into his arms. Both responded instinctively—Liana wrapping an arm over his chest, and Gloria nestling her head against his shoulder.
He leaned forward and kissed Liana's forehead, then Gloria's.
Then, with a deep breath and a peaceful smile… he closed his eyes.
Then he noticed… something warm pressing on top of him.
Javier stirred, eyes adjusting in the dim light.
Felicia was there, sitting gently on his stomach, her calm eyes locked onto his.
"Only them got kissed?" she asked softly, tilting her head. "How about me?"
Javier blinked.
Felicia leaned forward until her forehead touched his. Her expression was serene, but her voice firm.
"I also… have the right to get the kiss, right?"
Javier hesitated only a moment, then leaned up and kissed her lips.
Felicia's eyes closed as she returned the kiss, slow and certain.
When they parted, she smiled faintly, then lowered herself, resting her head on his chest.
Her tail swayed gently, brushing his leg in slow, content rhythm.
Liana, eyes half-open, had been quietly watching from his right. She'd seen the kiss—but said nothing. Instead, she leaned closer, her breath warm against his ear.
"See, young master," she whispered sweetly, her voice soft and low, "you already have a lot of future wives."
Javier blinked. "Liana…"
"No matter how big the bed is," she continued, her smile calm but her tone dangerously sweet, "it won't be enough space for all of us if you keep adding more."
Gloria stirred slightly, lips curled in a faint knowing smile, but didn't open her eyes.
"Not to mention the time for intimacy," Liana added, still whispering. "Are you planning to do all five at once on the honeymoon?"
Javier's breath caught.
"Or…" Liana tilted her head, gently tracing her finger along his collarbone. "You want to split seven days between us? Me—two days, Gloria—two days. Then Mimi, Delya, and this one here…" Her eyes flicked down toward Felicia, who was still resting on his chest, "…each get one day?"
Her smile never faded. "Hmm?"
Javier swallowed. "I… I… can explain—"
"Shh~" Liana gently pressed her finger against Javier's lips, silencing him before he could speak.
"Don't try to explain, young master. Don't even think about evading this topic."
Her voice was calm, but the weight behind each word made Javier freeze.
"Just look at Lord Garius," she continued softly. "He has four wives. Each one takes a turn every day. First day, Lady Francesca. Second, Lady Garcinia. Third, Lady Phenelopie. Fourth, Lady Eridith. And it continues like that."
Javier winced slightly. That was true.
"But you…" Liana leaned in closer, her gaze sharp but affectionate. "How are you going to split your days if you keep adding more? Hmm?"
He sighed quietly, lips sealed. He didn't have an answer.
Liana's tone softened, but she didn't let him off the hook. "Don't go adding more than you can handle, young master. And at least…" she tapped his forehead lightly with her finger, "wait until you reach marriage age before you start gathering more."
Gloria, eyes still closed, stifled a laugh under her breath.
Felicia murmured softly, "Mm… I agree."
Javier just groaned, quietly accepting his fate.
"Now… go sleep and be thankful we are here to accompany you again, young master," Liana whispered gently, brushing a hand through his hair.
"Mm…" Javier replied softly, eyes growing heavier.
"Now sleep~" Liana said again, her voice full of warmth as she leaned in and pressed her lips against his—slow, soft, and long. The kind of kiss that carried both affection and possessiveness.
Then Gloria lifted herself slightly, adjusting her glasses as she gazed at him.
"My turn~" she whispered with a small smile, before kissing him just as tenderly, her hand resting on his cheek with loving care.
Felicia silently followed, shifting upward from his chest, her calm eyes meeting his. She didn't say a word—just leaned in and kissed him slowly, her tail brushing across his leg again in a gentle, happy rhythm.
Javier, now warm and surrounded, exhaled in comfort.
"I'm really… lucky…"
And with that, he drifted into peaceful sleep, held close by all three.
Liana slowly opened her eyes.
A soft breeze brushed against her cheeks, carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers. She stood barefoot in the middle of a vast, beautiful garden — petals of blue, white, and crimson swaying gently around her.
Sunlight filtered through a canopy of leaves, casting warm dappled shadows on the stone path ahead. The air felt soft. Peaceful. Familiar, yet dreamlike.
Suddenly—
"Mama~"
Liana turned her head.
Several small figures were running toward her, laughter in their voices. Children — three? Four? Maybe five? She couldn't see their faces clearly… only blurry shapes and silhouettes. But they rushed to her, clinging to her dress, wrapping their small arms around her waist.
"Mama~! Mama~!"
Her heart raced, yet she didn't feel fear. Somehow, their touch felt warm… safe. As if this was something precious.
Then one of the children looked up and asked—
"Are we going to visit papa's grave again today?"
Liana froze.
Her lips parted slightly, eyes wide.
She looked around — the garden suddenly felt too quiet. Too still. The breeze stopped.
"W-what…?" she whispered. "Papa's… grave?"
The children didn't answer. They simply looked at her. Waiting.
Liana's knees gave out. She collapsed gently onto the grass, her arms trembling.
"No… no, that can't be…"
She reached out, trying to hold onto the closest child — but the moment her fingers touched them, the child dissolved into white petals.
Then another.
And another.
All turning into petals and drifting into the wind.
"No—!"
