Chapter 719: The Female Celebrity Chased by a Dog

Chapter 719: Chapter 719: The Female Celebrity Chased by a Dog

Benjamin Jones heard Abigail’s murmurs to herself. Feeling distressed, he reached out and patted her shoulder. "It’s okay, Abby, it’s okay."

"Hmm." Abigail snapped out of it and raised her glass toward Benjamin. "Come on, let’s celebrate our reunion."

"Sure." Benjamin lightly clinked her glass. Amid the laughter of the children, it wasn’t out of place, yet it tugged at his heart.

Abigail smiled and took a sip. Just then, Teddy wiggled his small body towards her under the applause of Lena Locke and the others. Abigail quickly set down her glass, got off the chair, and squatted in front of him, extending her arms.

The little guy immediately sped up and threw himself into Abigail’s arms, causing a burst of laughter.

Benjamin looked at Abigail’s back, a shadow of sadness in his eyes. His private phone suddenly rang, and he frowned as he picked it up. "Who is this?"

"Lawyer Jones, I’m really sorry to bother you at this time. Please help me." Catherine Ford held the door tightly, her voice full of apology despite seeking help. She held a two-year-old girl in her arms, who was trembling like a leaf.

Bang bang bang...

Amid the woman’s cries for help, Benjamin heard a frantic knocking on the door. His brows furrowed, and a thin, stubborn figure flashed in his mind. "Address."

Catherine Ford nervously reported an address and then heard the busy tone as Benjamin hung up. She felt slightly relieved.

Benjamin stood up and saw Abigail and Teddy having a great time. He didn’t want to disturb them and just informed Aunt Claudia on the side before leaving the villa.

By the time Abigail noticed, Benjamin had already left.

But Abigail was used to Benjamin’s hectic lifestyle before, so she helplessly shook her head, turned around, and continued playing with Teddy and Lena Locke and the others.

They were all young and had no experience with children, and they adored Teddy, especially Lena Locke, who looked like she wanted to steal the child every minute.

On the other hand, Wilson Jasper, who looked the sweetest, was also fond of Threo and seemed eager to take him home.

Abigail chuckled on the side. "You guys can take the remaining seafood, but not the child or the dog."

"What about playing with him then? Can I come over often to play with Teddy?" Lena Locke raised her hand to request permission for herself.

"No way, have your own kid to play with." Abigail decisively refused to let her son fall into Lena Locke’s clutches.

Lena Locke pretended to be indignant and snorted, "Cheapskate. It’s just a child, right? I may not be able to have one myself, but I can have my little sister-in-law have one for me to play with."

"Wow, are you talking about Mary Scott? I adore her so much; she’s exactly my type. No, I am so jealous of your Uncle!" Ralf exclaimed, sounding effeminate as soon as he heard that.

Little did they know that Davis Hudson also joined in the fun. "Mary Scott is indeed good-looking, but is she really with Director Locke?"

"Of course, my mom told me they were together since high school," Lena Locke couldn’t help but boast.

"My heart just shattered." Ralf exaggeratedly clutched his chest, his gaze inadvertently falling on the tree-lined path outside the villa. Suddenly, he froze.

Davis Hudson kicked him from behind. "Alright, stop acting. When Best Actress Swift and Best Actor had their rumors, your heart also broke. When that young female star and the male actor from the same drama rehearsed scripts late at night, your heart broke too. At this rate, your heart will be shattered to pieces!"

Abigail, Lena Locke, and Wilson Jasper burst into laughter.

But Ralf didn’t retort as usual. He remained motionless, with only his eyeballs moving.

Lena Locke curiously followed Ralf’s sight and saw Mary Scott struggling with two large bags, her pupils involuntarily dilating. "Little... Little Auntie?"

Davis Hudson and Wilson Jasper also looked over, and indeed, it was Mary Scott in person.

Abigail was a bit surprised too. What a coincidence. Speak of the devil, and the devil appears.

But before Abigail could finish her sigh of relief, Ralf shouted at Mary Scott with a voice that could shake the heavens and the earth, "Little Auntie!"

Everyone, "..."

The next moment, Ralf jumped over the fence and ran towards the main gate, still shouting "Little Auntie."

Ever since Mary Scott and David Locke went public, she suddenly went from being an obscure actress to one of the hottest stars in the industry.

This sudden rise to fame, apart from media frenzy, didn’t substantially change her life.

Instead, it forced David Locke to send her to Rose Valley, officially beginning her life as a housekeeper.

The paparazzi couldn’t get in here. Aside from some notifications, she spent her days cooking, cleaning, and warming her bed for the household’s golden master.

An hour ago, the golden master informed her he would be home for dinner, so she hurried to buy groceries. She didn’t pay much attention to the thunderous call of "Little Auntie" she heard on the way. Little did she know that the next moment, she would hear urgent footsteps behind her.

Recently, chased by media and reporters, Mary Scott’s conditioned reflex was to pick up the heavy bags and start running without looking back.

Ralf was excitedly following her, completely unaware she was running because of him. He stretched out his long arm, still shouting "Little Auntie."

Lena Locke didn’t expect such a coincidence. Snapping back to reality, she saw Ralf chasing Mary Scott. She called out to him but he didn’t stop, so she also ran after them.

Wilson Jasper and Davis Hudson, clueless, followed suit.

Abigail, being more observant than the others, noticed the chase and frowned slightly. She couldn’t tell if it was Mary Scott up ahead, but it was clear the person was scared. She quickly called Hughes to join the chase.

But Hughes didn’t move. "My responsibility is to protect you."

Abigail felt both angry and helpless. She picked up Teddy by her feet and ran after Wilson Jasper and the others.

Threo saw it and eagerly joined in.

Mary Scott heard the growing footsteps and barking behind her, panicking. She was scared stiff of reporters, especially since her sudden rise to fame due to her marriage to the famous director led many unrelated opportunities to fall into her lap, blocking many people’s way. Some reporters weren’t real ones.

Last time, one reporter almost poked her face with a microphone, nearly bruising her. As an unknown actress, she’d never faced such a scene and was now terrified of reporters.

What’s worse was hearing the person chasing her shout, "Little Auntie, don’t run, I’m your fan!"

Mary Scott knew her worth. Fan? Since her company maliciously blacklisted her, her fan club had dwindled to seven people, one of whom was her own side account.

This person called themselves her fan? And what kind of fan calls her "Little Auntie"? She could even hear a dog barking!

Mary Scott almost cursed out loud. MD, what kind of fan acts this poorly!

David Locke had just parked his car in the garage when he saw Mary Scott running with two large bags of groceries like a dog was chasing her. His brow furrowed. "Moll Scott, are you crazy?"

"Dobbin, save me!" She shouted, clutching the bags like a little cannonball, charging at David Locke.

David Locke instinctively reached out to catch her, scooping her up into his arms. Then he looked at the panting Ralf chasing behind her, his voice chilly. "Who are you?"
