Chapter 619: Chapter 619: Miss Lin has lost a lot of weight, she looks really beautiful
Jeffrey Foster left the hospital the day after Abigail Green’s discharge, without telling anyone.
He left quietly.
Abigail sighed softly when she heard about it, not knowing what to say.
Brandon Piers stared at her domineeringly, "No sighing allowed."
"Alright." Abigail shrugged helplessly. This man’s jealousy was really endless.
However, Jeffrey Foster’s quiet departure did ease Brandon Piers’s mood quite a bit.
In the next half month Abigail was hospitalized, Brandon sent her different foods daily. To coax Abigail into eating more, he also ate with her. By the time they were discharged, both had gained about six pounds.
Brandon’s six pounds were not very noticeable on his six-foot-two frame.
But Abigail was different.
In the days leading up to the wedding, her emotions were unstable, and due to insomnia, her weight had dropped to ninety-four pounds. Now she had gained five pounds, reaching one hundred pounds. Her skin was fairer, and she looked more vibrant and youthful.
Standing in the bright March sunlight, she was so radiant that Brandon couldn’t take his eyes off her.
Abigail looked at the man who had been wearing patient clothes for the past half month. Today, he had changed into a black trench coat, looking even more distinguished and handsome. She too was a bit captivated.
Liking someone probably meant being constantly drawn to them.
Brandon looked at Abigail with affection. He stepped forward, took her hand, and smiled gently, "Let’s go, Teddy is waiting for us at home."
"Mm." Abigail nodded and followed his steps.
Surprisingly, as soon as they left the ward, Abigail saw a familiar person and exclaimed in surprise, "Daniel?"
The man passing by them, Daniel, paused and turned to look at Abigail. He was initially stunned, then more surprised than Abigail, "Miss Green?"
"Yes, what a coincidence." Abigail didn’t expect to meet the president of Midsummer in Durin. During this hospital stay, her memory had almost fully recovered, and perhaps due to hypnosis, her recollection was even clearer than before.
So, looking at the president of Midsummer in front of her, Abigail was very grateful for his past help.
Daniel recognized Abigail by her eyes earlier but wasn’t entirely sure. Now hearing her confirm, he opened his mouth slightly. He still remembered the last time he saw her, she weighed 200 pounds?
Now she looked completely transformed. Even though he had seen countless beauties, Daniel was amazed. But he quickly recalled the news reported by the company, "Abigail Green... How can you be here? Wait, you’re alive? Then the previous news..."
Abigail smiled, "Yes, I’m alive. The news was a misunderstanding."
It seemed that this president of Midsummer was also quite concerned about domestic matters.
"That’s great. When I saw the news from Swallow City, I felt sorry for you, Miss Green. It’s an honor to see you again in such good health." Daniel was genuinely happy for Abigail. After finishing, he couldn’t help but glance at her, "Miss Green, you’ve lost a lot of weight. You’re truly beautiful."
The last sentence was said with a sincere admiration.
Abigail felt great hearing that, "Thank you, Mr. Daniel. May I ask why you’re here? Are you sick?"
"Oh, it’s my mother." Mentioning his mother, Daniel’s eyes darkened.
Abigail paused, "I’m sorry."
"It’s okay." Daniel quickly brushed off his melancholy at Abigail’s words. He then remembered that Abigail was the daughter of his mother’s friend. Thinking his mother might feel better after seeing Abigail, he was about to invite her when he felt a cold gaze. Only then did he notice the handsome man standing next to Abigail, looking at him with obvious hostility.
Daniel was momentarily stunned. He naturally recognized the other man as Master Brandon of the Piers family. He had been so surprised to see Abigail that he neglected him.
Abigail also sensed the change in temperature around them. She turned her head and met her man’s displeased eyes, quickly introduced, "Mr. Daniel, this is my fiancé, Brandon Piers. Brandon, this is Mr. Daniel from Midsummer."
"Mm." Brandon responded indifferently. He hadn’t expected that the mysterious president of Midsummer would be this mixed-race man who didn’t seem much older than Abigail.
Daniel was about to extend his hand when he heard that sentence. He raised an eyebrow. He had heard that Master Brandon was a ruthless and beautiful man. Seeing him now, he conceded that while he might not be ruthless, he was indeed beautiful and had quite a temper.
"Brandon, Mr. Daniel helped me in the past." Abigail whispered softly in Brandon’s ear.
Brandon recalled how the Taylor mother and daughter had been humiliated at Midsummer Trust and how they had concealed the true nature of the shares from Abigail, sparing her much trouble. He finally toned down his hostility, "I’ve heard a lot about you."
Daniel raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t expected this second Master Brandon to be so wife-conscious. Interesting.
Abigail realized that those cool-toned words meant her man had no intention of being friendly to Daniel. She turned to smile at Daniel, "Your mother is my mother’s friend. Since she’s ill, as a junior, I should visit her. Is it convenient for your mother?"
"Of course. My mother would be very happy to see you." Even if Abigail hadn’t mentioned it, Daniel would have invited her. Now that she took the initiative, Daniel was very pleased.
His mother had been ill for many years. Her bipolar disorder made her extremely unstable. Whenever she calmed down, she would talk about people and things from her youth. But every time he and his father suggested taking her back to Swallow City, she would fly into a rage and refuse to go.
Last year, she heard accidentally that her sister had died suddenly. Her gradually recovering mood became uncontrollable again, and she even tried to overdose on sleeping pills. If his father hadn’t discovered it in time, she would have died.
Even so, her already poor physical and mental condition was now even worse.
Daniel led them to his mother’s ward. Only then did Abigail realize they were staying on the same VIP floor.
"My mother’s emotions are very unstable. If she says anything unpleasant, don’t take it to heart." As they neared the ward, Daniel explained softly.
Abigail had seen many patients and understood their emotions well. She nodded and, taking the opportunity, secretly squeezed Brandon’s hand to comfort him.
Brandon, who had been reluctantly following Abigail, immediately brightened up after her touch.
Abigail had mentally prepared herself, but she hadn’t expected the other woman’s mood to be that bad.
Bam, bam, bam...
They hadn’t even entered when the sound of smashing objects reached their ears, followed by the hysterical voice of a woman, "Get out, get out, get out, all of you!"
Abigail paused her steps and looked at Daniel.
Daniel hadn’t expected his mother to start a tantrum at this moment. He looked at the two of them awkwardly, "I’ll go in and check first."
"What are you doing in here? I said I won’t do it. I won’t have this surgery!" The woman roared irritably.
Daniel stepped forward, "Sis, listen to me. It will stop hurting after the surgery..."
Abigail quickly closed the door behind Daniel and then turned to look at Brandon, "Her temper is just like my grandfather’s!"
