Lin Xia and Lin Dong had just positioned themselves at the doorstep of this family’s home when Lin Qiang and a brute, who had been hiding somewhere earlier, approached them from across the street, sneering.

They both held sticks in their hands, gesticulating threateningly as if they were planning to give Lin Xia and her company a beating.

Lin Dong panicked instantly, fearing he couldn’t defeat these two boys alone and wouldn’t be able to protect his older sister!

However, Lin Xia didn’t panic. It was now too late to run, so she looked around for anything handy that could be used as a weapon.

Next to this family’s home, at the entrance of another house, lay a pile of branches, seemingly collected but not yet put away.

Acting decisively, Lin Xia pulled Lin Dong a few steps over and each picked up a branch as thick as an adult’s wrist.

Lin Xia urgently instructed, "Dongzi! Remember this! When the fight starts, don’t worry about me, go hard and aim to maim whoever you get a hold of! Show no weakness! But don’t hit them in the head!"

She knew that as soon as they encountered Lin Qiang, a fight was inevitable!

Despite her ability to be fierce and to strike hard, she remained a woman, afraid that her brother might suffer trying to protect her. She preferred to tell him to focus on fighting just one person.

Lin Dong clenched the thick branch in his hand, "Sis..." But if he only focused on one person, wouldn’t that mean his older sister would get hit? How could she as a woman possibly fight against men?

Lin Xia scolded sharply, "Don’t talk nonsense! Just do as I say!"

"Okay!" Lin Dong psyched himself up, determined not to show weakness. Even if it meant facing two boys, he would fight fiercely, taking down one at a time, making sure his sister wouldn’t get hurt.

Lin Qiang and the brute arrived in front of the siblings, smugly looking at Lin Xia and Lin Dong, who stood on guard with branches in hand. To them, Lin Xia’s actions were as futile as a mantis trying to stop a chariot.

What difference would it make that they had something in their hands, could they really best the two young men?

Finally having caught a glimpse of Lin Xia’s shadow, and with the situation now within his grasp, Lin Qiang certainly wanted to ridicule Lin Xia to let off some steam.

So, if they were indeed staying in the city, they would definitely head back there today, hence they positioned themselves at the bus stop to ambush them, prepared to exact their revenge if they encountered the siblings.

Regrettably, after waiting half a day without seeing them, the two found a corner sheltered from the wind to smoke and, by chance, looked up to see Lin Xia and her brother.

"Settle accounts? But what do we have to settle?" Lin Xia said cautiously, guarding against Lin Qiang and his friend’s sudden move.

Infuriated, Lin Qiang’s eyes turned bloodshot as he yelled, "What do you mean we have no accounts to settle! My mother and I are in this mess because of you! You even dared to hit my mother! Today, I must give you a good thrashing!"

When he learned of Lin Xia hitting and scolding his mother, his anger was beyond measure, but at the time, he was being dealt with by Lin Aiguo and dared not act rashly.

He could only think to himself that had he been in the ward, he would not have been as useless as Lin Yu, who managed to hit his own mother with the hot water bottle.

The pedestrians passing by and people waiting for the bus witnessed their confrontation and promptly gathered around to watch the spectacle unfold.

Mangzi and Lin Qiang both swung their batons and charged toward Lin Xia and her brother Lin Dong.

The onlookers wanted to intervene, but with batons in play, they couldn’t get close enough for a while.

Startled, Lin Xia lost grip of the branch, and Lin Qiang seized the moment and aimed a fierce blow at her.

Seeing that he was ignoring the command and attempting a brutal strike, the man behind him delivered a fierce kick.

Lin Qiang, caught off guard, fell face forward onto the ground!

Lin Xia had already retreated to dodge, she wasn’t foolish enough to stand still and wait to be hit.

"Who hit me!" Lin Qiang scrambled up and looked behind him, only to see a strange man.

Lin Xia scrutinized the man who had helped her, she hadn’t recovered from the shock yet, this was the man who had chased after her for half a day and then let her go!

Also restrained were Mangzi and Lin Dong, but the person stopping them was a young man, "What’s going on here? Brawling in the streets! Are you trying to get a trip back to the station with me?"

Once Lin Qiang and Mangzi heard that, they didn’t need any further hints, this man was from the police station!

They dropped their batons and ran, they had previous theft and robbery charges, once inside, they knew they’d be in for it and might not come out again.

The young man didn’t bother to pursue them, instead, he turned his curious gaze to Lin Xia and her brother.

Lin Dong rushed over, looking Lin Xia up and down with an anxious voice, "Sis, are you alright?"

Lin Xia shook her head, "I’m fine! Are you?" She hadn’t paid attention to anything else earlier, she didn’t know if that kid had managed to hit Dongzi.

"I’m fine too!" Lin Dong looked at the two men standing to the side, swallowing nervously, Lin Qiang and the others had run away leaving only him and his sister, would they be taken back to the police station?
