Reborn As A Phoenix With Beast Taming System
Chapter 82: Succubus in Disguise

Chapter 82: 82: Succubus in Disguise

After that short argument, Ash opted to wait for the news from his Tamed Beast while meditating atop the tree’s canopy.

As the day turned into dusk, Shanguang’s voice chimed brightly in his head. He was so surprised at first since he thought it was impossible for her to reach him from a far distance.

Nevertheless, he was so glad that he could communicate with her regardless of the place and time.

"Master! We have defeated the King of Venomous Green Scorpions! He refused to pledge his allegiance to you. Therefore, I have no choice but to slay this stubborn old scorpion! His meat was quite delicious though. It was almost too easy!"

"Of course it is. You have grown much stronger than the last time." Ash smiled while sitting on a lotus form. "Anyway, did you find the little sister?"

"There’s no such thing here. Though, I did smell some weird scents around here. It’s a woman’s scent, but I doubt it’s even a human’s scent at the same time. Oh! Wait! The scent is coming closer from your direction! What should we do?"

"Get out of there, slowly. Suppress your Qi and find a place to hide. You may roam freely afterward."

"Aaww! Really?!"

"Yes. Just leave that scorpion’s lair."

"We already did." Yinghui remarked. "We are now at the very end of this cave system. Just one level away from the magma vein."

"That was quick." Ash had expected that Yinghui would be so quick to read the situation since Yinghui was very observant albeit her quiet nature.

"Oh, it’s already inside the lair with two human boys." Shanguang chimed again. Her exceptional senses allowed her to know what was exactly happening above her.

"Could you still hear what they’re doing from the vibration?"

"Yes, I do."

"En. Keep me updated." Ash simply nodded to that.

Afterward, Shanguang informed him every now and then. At that moment, Shanguang heard the screams of agony from the boys.

"Wow, it killed the boys right away by yanking out their dantian! And their Yang Qi is immediately absorbed by it! Wonder, what kind of creature is able to do that?"

"How should I know?" Ash shrugged his shoulders. "As of now, you two must remain hidden until that creature leaves the lair."

"Understood, Master."

Ash, however, wasn’t bothered by it even one bit. Each evil deed was derived from desperate circumstances one was projected into. And those very circumstances would explain her true nature. Ash had a few guesses about her true nature. However, he respected her privacy as long as she didn’t pose a threat to him.

Around midnight, Ash saw a woman figure jumping from one tree top to another effortlessly as if she was gliding with the wind under her feet. Before long, she stopped atop a tree’s canopy across his tree.

Ash smiled contemptuously by the time he saw two Sentient Swords were brandished in her either hands. From the designs, Ash could tell that those swords belonged to Han Jia Ge and Han Wei.

"How’s the hunt, Lady Wang Zhaojun?" Ash said sarcastically. "Poor little boys. Fell into the oldest trick in the book, like flies trapped in a flower!"

"How did you know," Wang Zhaojun brandished the sword in her left hand.

"The question is not how, milady." Ash smirked. "But, why... Why did I let you live back then when I could kill you with just a flick of talon?"

Wang Zhaojun staggered for a brisk moment. Although he didn’t exude any powerful aura, she could feel her throat was about to get ripped apart by his gaze alone.

"Come on, ask me why... Don’t be shy." Ash taunted her a little further.

"W-why?"

Ash went over to her tree ever so gracefully. "Because, you and I are the same."

Ash positioned himself right in front of the blade with both hands clasped on his back. As he stood close to her, he could estimate her cultivation stage was at Mid Stage Qi Gathering Realm. However, he wasn’t afraid of her in the slightest.

"Whatever you mean..." Wang Zhaojun touched the tip of the blade onto his chest. However, the Sentient Sword soon refused to cooperate with her.

’Even the swords are afraid of him?! Just how powerful he actually is?’

"Oh, come on... There’s no need for violence, milady." Ash turned his head onto the full red moon that shone the entire plane in a reddish hue. "What a bloody fine night, is it not?"

Surprisingly, Wang Zhaojun was a bit more relaxed yet she didn’t lower her guard at all. Right now, the sword was pointing directly at his back.

"What do you mean that we are the same?"

"Well, you and I are cold blooded predators who kill in silence and utmost secrecy. Therefore, I let you have them to sustain yourself with Yang Qi without lowering yourself to marry a man or become a Yin Cauldron instead. It must be hard to live with such a unique body constitution, huh?"

Wang Zhaojun was bewildered once again. ’Not only did he know what I had done to them, he also knew about my Yin Qi Body Constitution that made me a literal slave for Yang Qi?’

"Senior, please forgive my bluntness. But, may I inquire about your name and affiliation?"

"Oh, please... No need to call me senior. We are the same age anyway." Ash turned at her, reaching out his bare hand toward the woman while she had a sword ready to kill him anytime.

"My name is Xiao Hûo, Grand Disciple of the Grand Elder of Tang Sect, Tang Yigao! At your service, milady."

Wang Zhaojun was astonished as she was very confused with this eccentric young man. Others might have offended and opted to fight her or to rape her whenever a man heard about her rare Yin Qi Body Constitution.

"Senior Xiao Hûo it is then." At long last, she smiled sincerely from the bottom of her heart.
