Chapter 81: The Underlying Lies

Chapter 81: 81: The Underlying Lies

Han Wei was perplexed. He couldn’t mutter even a word to the young woman’s name.

Han Jia Ge, however, didn’t swallow it right away. He then inquired further to interrogate her. "Surely you jest, young lady. If you really are Princess Wang Zhaojun, please show us the proof."

The young lady was frantic, looking for anything that she could use to prove her identity. After which, her hand reached into the v-shaped opening of her garment, deliberately showing off her fair, beautiful skin white skin.

"Would it be enough?" Wang Zhaojun said. Flaunting a crystal pendant which she pulled from her neck.

However, the two virgin teenagers were focused on her valley of dreams and forgot everything else. Ash quickly stood behind the two, he slapped the back of their heads pretty hard alternately.

"Answer her!" He roared.

"Er... I am sorry, Senior." Han Jia Ge smiled wryly. "Let me take a look."

He and Han Wei closely inspect the pendant. Not so long after, both of their eyes rounded wide as they came to realize that the pendant was actually a Spirit Stone! And a high-grade one at that. Only nobles and someone from great families are able to procure Spirit Stones which could cost them limbs, and even their heads.

Han Jia Ge and Han Wei prostrated low, planting their heads onto the ground. And spoke in unison. "We greet Princess Wang Zhaojun!"

"Arise, my friends. You should not lower yourself before me. I don’t deserve it." Wang Zhaojun placed either of her hands on their shoulders, demanding the two to stand up.

"Young Mistress, If I may ask, what are you doing in this remote place?" Han Wei asked. Han Jia Ge also looked at her with the same scrutinizing look.

"I was gathering herbs in the northwest valley, around fifty kilometers from here. But, I was unaware that the place was the habitat of these Venomous Green Scorpions. I am able to run away from them. Alas, my sister was not so lucky. They caught and dragged her into their lair."

"Your little sister?!" Han Wei was a bit skeptical. "That’s news to me. I don’t remember that Princess Wang Zhaojun, the youngest princess of the Wang Family, or in this case, Wang Kingdom has a little sister."

Han Jia Ge, however, immediately became so furious and he slapped Han Wei mercilessly. After which, he dragged Han Wei behind a tree, choking Han Wei’s neck with his biceps and forearm.

"You idiot!" Han Jia Ge screamed in a whisper. "Your question would have gotten you killed by the end of the day! The fact that the Wang Kingdom hid their youngest heiress aside from Zhaojun’er speaks volumes of this precarious matter!"

"Yes! Yes! I understand! I can’t breathe! Let me go, big brother!"

"Also, if we could track down the scorpion’s lair and retrieve her little sister’s remnants, Wang Kingdom would reward us handsomely! Even better, we could finally get out from that lousy Sword Sect for good! Did you get the big picture?!"

"Y-Yes, big brother. I understand."

"Good! Let’s get back there, and say you’re sorry!"

With that said, Han Jia Ge and Han Wei emerged from behind a tree. Though they acted as if nothing happened, Ash’ sharp ears could hear everything from where he stood.

"Please forgive my previous impertinence, young mistress."

"Please..." Wang Zhaojun smiled. "No need to fret it."

"One more thing, if you don’t mind, milady." Han Jia Ge opened his mouth. After a confirming nod from her, he then continued. "What if I tell you that we would help to retrieve your little sister’s remains from that lair? Better yet, there’s also a possibility that your sister is still alive."

"Really?!" Wang Zhaojun’s face was glowing with sparkles of hope. "By all means, please help me find my sisters! My family would reward you all handsomely!"

Ash, however, was still completely oblivious regardless of who she was and her story that smells so fishy to begin with.

In fact, Ash immediately changed his thoughts about Wang Zhaojun by the time he sniffed a thick, sinister scent of blood coming out from her.

She might look docile like a newborn fawn, yet Ash had a premonition that she was actually predating these two youngsters. However, as a fellow predator, Ash had an ethical code to not meddle with other predator’s prey, not directly, of course.

Wang Zhaojun, however, could also smell the thick scent of blood coming from the young man in the red robe. Worse, she could also tell that he’s not necessarily a human.

She respected him for not giving her away that she’s actually luring the naive and young cultivators in order to harvest their Yang Qi by deliberately putting herself in a pinched situation.

"Nah, I will skip this one." Ash turned away as he put both arms into his sleeves.

"Are you sure, Senior?" Han Jia Ge shot him a glance.

"Yeah. I don’t have time to babysit y’all for an entire day. Have fun out there. And don’t get killed, I mean it." Ash stared daggers at Han Jia Ge.

On the other hand, Han Wei was complaining about his heartless decision. "Senior, with all due respect, are you not feeling a pang of compassion for her little sister? Besides, with you on our side, we could definitely defeat them all easily."

’This motherfucking idiot!’ Ash halted his step, he shot a sharp glance to Han Wei and said, "Why should I care about the chronically dumb and idiot little sister who foolishly followed her big sister into the dangerous wilderness. What was she thinking about this place? A flower garden, is it?!"

Before Han Wei refuted back at him, Han Jia Ge held his little brother’s chest to prevent him from further offending the young man in the red robe. Moreover, someone with heaven-defying talents tended to be a tad weird and detached from worldly affairs compared to regular cultivators like them.

"Let him be, Han Wei... Let’s go. Time is ticking..."
