Zhou Rui curled on the couch like a kitten while waiting for the item that she wanted took its turn. Ash, meanwhile, was so bored hearing the people bidding the price every now and then. He practically didn’t have anything that caught his interest at all.

However, Ash became so infuriated by the time he saw a Shadow Serval Cat was being introduced as the next item of the auction. It was placed atop the pedestal, growling menacingly but no one could hear its cry since the Cage was also equipped with a noise cancellation array.

Not just one, but many small sized Immortal Beasts were lined up like souvenirs inside their respective cages.

The types were varied, even there is an oceanic monster that was captivated inside a big aquarium tube.

Aside from the Immortal Beasts, there were also elves women!

Those elves’ faces were ghostly pale and so skinny, there was no light inside those girls and they looked like living corpses. Ash felt his heart sink into the abyss when dozens of elves were chained and sedated like animals inside the cage.

The crowd went crazy, cheering and applauding boisterously as the elves were introduced.

"What the fuck!" Ash slammed the desk. "Nobody told me about the Immortal Beast and an elf slave being auctioned today!"

"This is more fucked up than I could ever imagined." Zhou Rui was peering over the railing to get a closer look. "This should explain the disappearance of many non-human women in the past year."

Ash, however, quickly regulated his anger and calmed down. Acting rashly would only get him into serious trouble instead. "We will get them out of here."

"How exactly?" Zhou Rui asked scrutinizingly. "Breaking them out? You’d get hunted by the Western Region. Those elves had no places to go, are you going to protect them all? You and what army?"

"Jeez..." Ash rubbed his ears. "Relax, I want to do such a foolish thing."

"So?"

"I will buy them all. And I will make them become my disciples!"

"What the— Surely you jest, young lord! You do not even belong to any sect just yet!"

Ash smirked wide, he then flaunted the Grand Disciple token in front of her face. "Says who?"

Zhou Rui snatched the token from his hand to check its authenticity. "No way! It truly is Tang Yigao’s token! How did you..."

"Give that back to me!" Ash took the token from her hands.

"Since when?"

"Ahh, it’s a long story. I will fill you in later. As of now, let’s focus on the task at hand. Look, the bidding has started."

"Esteemed Guests! Thank you for waiting for so long! Let us proceed to the main event of this first night!" Announced the master of ceremony. Her flute-like, flirtatious voices echoed from the centre of the stage.

"We have 15 elves! Freshly caught from the Northern Wilderness! Though they have weak body constitutions, their blood is said to be the most nutritious. On top of that, they were perfect for making Yin Qi Cauldrons and would live long enough as long as you provide them enough to feed them!"

"The bidding will start at 15,000 Tael of Gold Coins for fifteen elves!"

Soon enough, the men turned into hungry wolves who haven’t had a meal for a thousand years. They competed with each other to prove themselves as who was the wealthier.

"22,500!"

"30,000."

"Fifty thousand." Zhu Yan raised his voice as he saw Ash’s hand sign.

Everybody in the room gasped in shock as the familiar voice resounded from one of the VIP Rooms. The owner of the voice clearly uses his Qi to amplify his voice.

Even without looking at his face, each person in the room knew that the voice belonged to Ma Yuan! As for what purpose did he want with these elf slaves? Nobody would dare to question Ma Yuan! Even the Mayor who secretly supervised the auction opted to remain silent.

On the other hand, Ash sneered wide from side to side. "Hah! And now, you are revealing your true skin, Ma Yuan. You really know how to force me to reveal my real identity. Fine by me."

Before the auctioneer dropped the mallet, Ash gave a hand signal of one-five-zero to Zhu Yan.

Granted, everybody in the auction hall was curious about the person who would buy slaves with such an exorbitant amount of money. There’s only one explanation for his decisions: he must be an utterly crazy rich young lord from a certain family!

"Did you lose your goddamn mind?!" Zhou Rui rattled Ash’s shoulders as if he was a ragdoll.

"My apologies, Zhou Rui. I had to do it."

"I am not asking about your reasoning!" Zhou Rui was genuinely pissed. "Do you really have that kind of money or an artefact of equal value?!"

"Of course I do. I have thousands of them!"

"What?!"

"Ugh! Get off of me first!" Ash grabbed Zhou Rui by her back collar like a kitten. "Let’s finalize my purchase first and we will proceed with your request. Deal?"

"Hmph!" Zhou Rui threw her face to the side. "Suit yourself!"

"I will take that as a yes." Ash signaled to Zhu Yan and the others to walk out first and secure the way for him.

Once nobody was in the corridor, Ash headed toward the backroom of the stage to meet with the elves women that he just bought. Each was looking at him scornfully.

On the other hand, Zheng Ge was smiling like an old fox as the young man in red robe strode into the room. "Hohoho! I have never thought that a Jade Grade Appraiser would buy slaves."

"Open the cage!" Ash raised his voice sternly.
