Ma Jun was scared to death upon witnessing an 8th Stage Body Transformation Cultivator was easily killed with just an arrow. There was only one explanation to that; the arrow was shot by a Qi Gathering Cultivator from far away!

He lost all of his courage and bravado upon realizing that his opponent was an expert! No amount of wealth or fortunes could ever help him to escape from this predicament.

"Father! Mother! Please help me!!!" Ma Jun cried like a baby while pissing his pants as he crawled blindly amidst the dark. However, none of his cries would be heard by anyone.

Ma Jun screamed to the top of his lungs as an arrow pierced both of his thighs, effectively destroying the meridians on both legs.

He gritted his teeth until his gums bleed out while holding the excruciating pain. As a mere 6th Stage Body Transformation Cultivator, his vitality was much higher than a common mortal. However, in this type of situation, his high vitality was akin to tortures that lasted for years.

In all of sudden, a very powerful presence descended down from atop the tree canopy above him. Ma Jun looked up, and the jolt of fear ran through his whole body. He shivered uncontrollably, all of his limbs were incapacitated under the insane pressure from the Qi Gathering Cultivator!

"I would never have thought you were this weak and so stupid, Ma Jun. You even fell into the simplest trap that I devised." Ash said calmly. "I expected you to show your courage as a real man, yet here you are... writhing in your own piss and blood like a sow! You should be ashamed for bearing Ma’s family name."

Ma Jun’s mouth and eyes were wide open as he saw the young man in black hanfu that he thought had died was hovering above him. Upon a closer look, Ma Jun was aware the previous blood trail was faked. And these ransacked woods were already staged long before he arrived.

"Y–you are alive?!"

"Pretty much so. Thank you for asking. Any last word?" Ash finally landed on top of Ma Jun’s head.

"I am so sorry! Please, please. Have mercy! I will never stand in your way again! Please, just let me live!" Ma Jun sobbed heavily, drenching his robe with tears and snots.

"I’m sorry too. I shan’t give any mercy to my enemy for they shall give me none. If you have resentment, resent yourself for being an entitled weakling!"

With that last word from him, Ash opted to walk away.

"Shanguang." He summoned the Lightning Ligress.

"Yes, Master!" She pounced out of the bushes and sat obediently beside him.

"Dinner is served."

"Thank you, Master!" Shanguang purred merrily. She even licked her lips before putting Ma Jun’s head in her mouth wholly.

"Wait! Wait! Aaaargghhhhh!"

Ash nonchalantly avert his eyes from the horrid scene. There’s no remorse in his eyes whatsoever.

"Yinghui, clear the place. Bury those four deep in the ground. Make them as if they never existed in the first place." Ash ordered the Earth Drake.

"I will see it done, My Lord."

As an Earth Drake, restoring the damaged foliage and trees was very easy for her. All she needed to do was just manipulate the earth into her heart’s desire. After burying the four henchmen, Yinghui also forge the crime scene to make it looks like that Ash was indeed fighting the Lightning Liger to death.

While Shanguang was munching and crunching on Ma Jun’s body, Ash was a tad worried since this is her first time eating a cultivator’s body and she didn’t show any abnormal signs. In fact, she really enjoyed it and left no remains on the ground. Everything was licked clean, even all of the bones had entered her belly.

"Do you feel any oddity in your body after eating him?"

"Nothing in particular. I don’t really care what I eat as long as it could make me stronger. Humans would also do the same, no? Worse, they even did it for sports and fun. "That’s good to hear!" Ash replied.

The only problem is, how would you extract the Qi Energy out of their corporeal form? Hmmm, if only I could find myself an alchemist who could teach me how to Refine any being."

Before long, the Earth Drake had returned from her task. "Everything is done, m’lord."

"En! Thank you." Ash then rose from his meditating position. "Now, for the painful part. Shanguang, attack me with your most powerful strike!"

Shanguang was bewildered at that instance. She couldn’t follow what was in his head.

"B-but why?! I don’t want to hurt you, Master!"

"Just do it. You’ll understand later, trust me. Flesh wound would not kill me." Ash opened his arms to either side. "Remember, you are my pawn. And I will use you as I see fit. But of course, I will reward you big time after this."

"Promise?"

"I promise!"

Shanguang then stood up. She clearly remembered the pledge that she made on their first meeting.

"Very well. Brace yourself! I will not hold back my strength!"

Ash smirked to one side. "That’s what I want to hear."

Early in the morning, the gate’s guards on the West Borough were in clamour as a the news of Ma Jun’s disappearance had reached citywide. Before long, a young man in a tattered black hanfu robe walked limply while supporting his body with a wooden staff.

"Hey! What happened to you?!"

"Please, help." Ash coughed a mouthful of blood. "The Lightning Liger! That monster ate Ma Jun and his entourages!"

"What did you say?! Lightning Liger?!

"Hurry! While that monster is still close! It headed westbound!"

"Bring him to the infirmary! Quick! We will need his information!"
